Anyways, watching any competent player who plays zoom/zone/rush, and none of them do this. None.
Yes, I get 1.5bbs added. I'll be playing and I just topped off after posting a BB. Then a few hands later I get an additional 1.50 added to my stack. It took me a while to figure out I received a walk.

You could make an argument for being table capped at 2 and thus folding 38o is -EV when the alternative is to play X amount of more hands.

I still don't think quick folding is a good idea but it can't be that bad with total air.
A great majority of the players are aggressive and thus steal aggressively. I do have some hands I wait on, but for the most part 90% of the time I'm in the BB, I fold as I'm anticipating a steal attempt.

90% is way too high and is definitely a big leak, especially if you have a decent HU game and could be defending wide in position vs SB open. I'd say I quick fold about 10-15% of my hands from the BB. If no table cap I would never ever quick fold the BB.

Too many hands limp around for me to quick fold.

Played for about 45 minutes. Got coolered early on a T high board with JJ into QQ for half a stack, but I coolered someone with AA into KK post flop on a 9 2 3 hh board for a full stack. Other than that no interesting hands to report.

Played for about 90 minutes. Had a crazy session where I was down 1.5 buyins then was up 2 buyins, really up and down. I tried to slow play with JJ-KK 7 times with position and ended up biting me 5 times when an Ace showed up. :-\. Anyways, I think I need to limit the trickiness as it cost me a few times.

Craziest hand of the night was definitely this. Effective stacks were like 140bbs. I have JJ, UTG raises, I flat at MP, SB calls, everyone else folds. flop is J97 ss. UTG bets I raise, SB calls, UTG jams, I jam, SB tank calls. UTG had 8t dd, and SB had Q5ss. turn and river were blanks. This is what happens when I slow play.
09-10-2015 , 02:52 AM
If you jammed top set how is it slow playing?
09-10-2015 , 11:09 AM
I meant preflop.

3betting JJ in MP vs UTG would be a pretty big mistake without clear reads.

Matter of opinion, I agree with you that it's usually a mistake but not a big mistake, but I've 3 bet with JJ in that spot before.

Cool thread Stuntman.
Are you going to stick it out at 100NL zone to 100k+ hands?
Two tabling right?
Where are you at now?

Thanks outfit, glad to see you out of KK's thread lol. I'm trying to reach a decent volume at zone before I leave my job. I'm two tabling now, fine tuning my strategy. I may bump it up to 3 and 4 eventually. I am not sure about the where are you at now question. Where am I in regards to what?

Sorry, I meant, How many hands of zone have you played so far? I am curious how zone goes for a winning player long term. Have you been able to keep an ok win rate? Or you don't really know yet because you need more hands...
I am going to make a deposit next month to play zone and FR cash and see how it goes. (Not at the same time though)

Yea I don't have a big sample size yet. I played a bunch tonight while watching the football game, so I should have about 6-7k hands by the end of the week.

Welp, variance kicked my ass. Runner Runner, Aces popping up when I have KK or QQ. Running AK into AA, AQ in to AA, AQ into AK. Ran really brutal early, was down 7 buyins at one point, and made some tilted calls. If I want to turn pro, I need to keep my emotions in check. Eventually, turned it around, started playing my game and won back most of my losses.

Another crazy session, was down 3 buy ins but battled back and got lucky. Biggest pot of the night happened when I had KK UTG+1 and raised, bb called. Flop is T66 dd, BB check calls my c bet. Turn is a 9. BB checks, I cbet 12, villain check raises to 25. I've seen crazy bluffs before and this c/r smells weakness so I call. River is a K. Villain bets 3/4 pot. I jam, SB calls. SHIP IT!!!! 360 dollar pot. villain had 76 suited. Anyways, I feel really tired after playing a little over 3 hours. I don't think I'd be as tired if I didn't have to work full time, but I have to get used to playing longer sessions if I want to be a pro. Planning to play a lot tomorrow.

Love that feeling when you're pretty sure you have the best hand, but then the river makes sure of it

Nice battle back, though. It always really sucks when you start out the session deep in the hole.

Yea, I tend to get a little crazy on zone for whatever reason. Sometimes I get the feeling I'm getting squeezed or 3 bet too light.

When I was playing 100nl zone (only 10k hands), I looked at the hole cards for every single time I was 3bet, and something like 70% of them were light 3bets.

Some crazy things go on in that player pool.

It's the anonymous nature of the player pool. I do it too.

Damn I played 2 sessions for about 4 and a half hours, and got rivered SO MANY times. Up and down session. I 4 tabled on my second session, think I'll play 3 tables as I timed out a few times.

Thanks, been playing way too loose lately, think I need to tone down my craziness. While it feels good to bluff someone off a pot, it's way better getting stacked by someone.

It would be cool to see a zone profit/loss graph.
The variance must be crazy.

I'll post one tomorrow. I want to get this weekend's hands in. I didn't play tonight because I had a headache and I worked on some homework for the week.

Sweet.
School drains me so bad.

As promised, here's the graph of my week. Running fairly good. Lots of volume. In regular tables this will almost take 40 hours. This took me about 19 hours. I'm thinking of doing regular tables soon as zone doesn't run above 1/2. We'll see of course. I didn't play tonight, as I was busy after I got home because of homework.
