Good spots to turn pairs into bluffs?

PokerStars - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

SB: 116.44 BB
BB: 141.86 BB
UTG: 141.42 BB
MP: 97 BB
Hero (CO): 197.26 BB
BTN: 49 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8 8

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.76 BB, fold, SB raises to 9.28 BB, fold, Hero calls 6.52 BB

Flop: (19.56 BB, 2 players) 9 3 5
SB bets 9.78 BB, Hero calls 9.78 BB

Turn: (39.12 BB, 2 players) 4
SB bets 15.56 BB, Hero calls 15.56 BB

River: (70.24 BB, 2 players) K
SB checks, Hero bets 30.12 BB

Turn feels uncomfortable. Vs his betsize and with my bdfd I think I have to peel. On the river I was thinking I want to put pressure on his one pairs, mainly TT-QQ, maybe 9xs and this is one of the worst hands I get here with.

Thinking about it now, the hands I want to value bet are very strong, basically sets+. Maybe it's a good spot to use a bigger bet size since his range often isn't better than 1 pair when he xs to me.

Flop: (15.9 BB, 2 players) 8 6 2
Hero checks, CO bets 7 BB, Hero calls 7 BB

Turn: (29.9 BB, 2 players) 3
Hero checks, CO checks

River: (29.9 BB, 2 players) J
Hero checks, CO bets 11 BB, Hero raises to 63.82 BB

On the river I think it makes sense for me to x flushes a decent amount of the time bc it does better than leading against the following parts of his range:
- Jx flop wiffs and over pairs that he can value bet and allow us to pile in more money
- Air balls eg. Ax he decides to b/x/b bluff

As far as bluffs I think my hand is one of the best options. Close to the top of my folding range with a heart. I don't think the heart is too relevant as blocker bc I doubt the IP player is checking back turn w/ a flush too often. It's better than not having one though and just serves as a good way to randomize.

88 if you're gonna bluff you need to jam (think you should be bluffing). At the same time if he has AsKx/AxKs, you're getting snapped and his line kinda looks like that to me. Big pairs tend to x turn, not bet, but who knows what this guy is doing.

The 99 looks A+ to me. I also think AhAx tends to snap here. I'd much rather xr a set for thin value against most bad regs and rarely actually bluff (AhXx would be my first choice for bluffs but this 99 makes sense too)

Don't think the 88 line gets much in the way of folds. I guess it's X behind and lose almost every time or just jam. Imaging jamming slightly higher EV.

I had the same reaction initially but after thinking about it I don't know if I mind his fold. Vs an anonymous player pool auto folding any pure bluff catcher after getting x/bombed on the river as a general rule isn't a bad idea. Regardless of board texture I think this spot at these stakes especially is getting way under bluffed.

Hand 1: Prob overbluffing since AQx and AJx make up 6 bluffing combos on their own. But yeah, small bet doesn't make much sense on this river except for KQ w/ and even that doesn't make much sense since it prob raises turn so jam should be the correct sizing here.

Hand 2: Well played.

Thought betting small on the flop gets value/protection from lower pairs/overcards, lets us realize equity for cheap w/ a turn x back. Downside is we can get x/r. On this Turn AK/AQ, other hands improve, my hand drops much lower in my range so I think it's a fold. Tougher spot will be facing a bet on turn blanks.

2) check flop, folding turn is fine
3) flop call is close, SB should be v strong and the lead into us is weird AF. I agree, call river with Ax, fold the rest.
4) wouldn't JTss open pre? and is it calling a bombed turn when the BDFDs brick? I'm calling river here even though we look super strong.

Not on stars, Ignition hand converter turns it into stars format. You can see all cards after 24 hrs.

Yes it’s true he reps few value hands but the more important question is does this spot get bluffed. IMO the answer is no, not even close to enough for a bunch of reasons.

QQ - Need reads to make the best decision, but generally, fold.
AQ - It's thin, but thin doesn't mean bad, now fold
a9 - Turbo fold, 3b is also marginal (but not awful). The turn barrel is kinda mergy/but okay. Once you turn tp, it's probably better to xback and try to induce a river bluff.
JJ - Readless a turn fold is probably okay. These 3-bets of isolation raises especially CO/MP tend to be quite a bit stronger than a normal 3b. Exploitatively, I might find a fold earlier.

can't lose if you fold

Thanks. For the A9 hand I was thinking a lot of his range is mid pairs/8x that I'd want to continue putting pressure on with my suited broadways, etc. so I'd add a middling A to the value range. It's also kinda hard for him to have any river bluffs when we x back. I do see the downside of owning ourselves vs his AT/AJ/AQ bdfd floats (only 3 combos though). What do you do in his spot w/ 78/89/99/TT/JJ (if u have it pre)?

I folded all 4. They had:

1) 77
2) A3dd
3) 23 sooted
4) AA
