Poker Background
I started playing poker seriously around 2 years ago. I had some online and live tournament binks here and there but I had no bankroll management and often went busto gambling the money away. I started playing live poker full time in February in Europe a bit after graduating from university and managed to save up 11k Euros despite having a very crappy EPT run where I took shots at (relatively) expensive satellites and lost many flips. Live poker was easy but I have bigger ambitions than to stay a 1/3-2/5 live reg forever so I decided to go back to playing online. I decided to move to a pokerhouse I found on 2+2 located in Chiang Mai, Thailand to get a great atmosphere to work on my game and put in a lot of volume. I also want more balance in my life so I plan to go to the gym several times a week and maintain a decent social life outside poker. After I can constantly beat the games on Stars, I will occasionally take shots at higher stakes live games.

2014 Goals
I'm going to be playing mainly cash games on Pokerstars, starting at 25NL and moving up when I feel I can beat the limit. I will also play soft tournaments on Sundays. I currently have a bit over $10k online so bankroll is not a problem for the moment, all I need is to be sure I can beat a certain stake before moving up. My goals for the year are to move up to 200NL and reach supernova with a pre-rakeback profit. I want to play at least 40 hours a week and spend at least 10-20 hours a week studying theory and reviewing my play. Since I love math and game theory, I plan to work a lot with CardrunnersEV and PPT Odds Oracle. I have read Janda's book as well as Ed Miller's latest book and plan to do the frequency/range homework on 1-5 situations per day starting tomorrow. Once I get good enough with analysis softwares, I will also run these ranges through CrEV/PPT to get more insights and precise numbers. I also plan to get coached once I have enough experience for it to be worth the price. As for playing, I will move up stakes as soon as I show a profit over 100k hands at a specific stake.

Flying to Thailand in around 12 hours. Will be posting my next update from the grind house.

That sounds awesome. I'll be going to play online poker in Colombia in a month and will also start out playing NL25. We should exchange contact information and help each other out with the experiences of starting back up online poker in another country. My phone number is +1(267) 581 1228 on whatsapp

Good luck

Arrived on songkran and went to the city center where there was a massive watergun fight and people were splashing water on each other. The house is pretty nice and the other grinders living here are pretty cool people.

Played a bit yesterday and today; still spewing in some spots but doing ok overall. Thinking of buying a monitor so I can play more tables. Will be doing some frequency work today, I feel my ranges are really imbalanced in some spots (although it doesn't matter too much at these stakes).

I'm on a tourist visa, will probably need to fly to Laos every month unless I find another solution.

I think it's not tourist "visa" it's just 30 day stamp what you get when you arrive with plane. You might extend that 7 days in immigration if you want but it's not really worth it.

Just book fly to Laos/Vientiane or Udon Thani in Thailand and use minivan to get border (nok air have fly/bus combined packet) and go to do tourist visa with 2 entry on Thai embassy.

So after you come to Thailand you will get 60 days according you visa and you can go to immigration and extend it with 30 days. After that 30 day's you can go to land border (or you can fly out of Thailand and come back), stamp out from Thailand, stamp in example on Cambodia, walk back to Thailand and use 2nd entry of you tourist visa and get again 60 days and when 60 days period is near to end you can again go to immigration and extend it with 30 days. That's how you can get about 180 days in Thailand easily. Just PM if need more info.

Where you staying right now? Gl on your games!

I'm thinking of visiting a friend in Malaysia and they only give single entry tourist visas for Thailand there. Once that expires, will I be able to leave and get a second tourist visa?

I have a different avatar online. Not planning to live off 25NL, I want to play 60k+ hands a month and start moving up quite fast since I'm already rolled for higher levels. Beginning with smaller stakes so it's cheaper to spot and fix my leaks as well as try new things. I am mainly playing regular tables since it's easier to bumhunt and the regs at these stakes tend to fold way too much to steals and 3-bets and I get stats on then much faster than I would playing zoom.

Went to the gym with another grinder this morning. Will be watching theory videos all day and work on ranges in the afternoon. I really want to start visualizing my whole range in every spots rather than wonder how to play a certain hand. Nice to be surrounded by grinders with good work ethidc, makes it harder to be lazy. These guys work way harder than the live regs I used to play with.
