its been way too long. too busy, too tired.

first big pot. well, "big". 50bb stack opens in UTG, big stack kind of fish flats in SB, I 3bet to $1.4 in BB w AKo, big stack calls. f 23Kr. i highly consider checking after he checks. but i bet small to hopefully induce. all for naught though

yay thin value betting!

lol i go to start a table. 10 minutes after sitting alone, a 100bb stack sits with me. and sits out. i call him a wuss and i leave. i refuse too play with a player who goes to an empty table and sits out, waiting for the fish.

well, first loss while AI. A6hh<52hh AIOTF 8x7h4h. 6 outer or running straight cards. he hit the A and 3.

ick. open KsQx in CO, BTN calls. he is a fishy 70bb stack. f QsJsJx,. bet, he calls. turn is 4s. now im putting him on draws, draws that made it, Qx (i beat em all) ad Jx (really badly played Jx with all of the draws). I bet, he raises. i cant fold because im getting 3.5 to 1. I guess i can shove, but is he really gunna call with anything i beat other than QxTs? but i can call and reevaluate the river. river is Ac. i cant call a bet there. all the draws i had beaten got there OTT and OTR.

thought i could get someone to fold as weak A. nope. calling station.

man, fishies dont fold when you want them to. least i know when to give upo

open 2 hands simultaneously. AJdd and 99. flop on AJdd table was Q97. flop on 99 table was AJ2.

whiff whiff whiffitity doo.

flopped straight vs bottom two vs the most aggro guy at the table. such is poker, theyre punishing me for not playing for a long time

need to stop drinking cooffee. or maybe cut it down to one cup a day. too much heartburn with it.

win a nice pot with QQ...unfortunately pretty much the only good thing thats happened this session

second flopped set and win a decent pot with it

there seems to be a lot of aggression and i just dont have the hands or reads to stand up to them. including a chronic stealer to my immediate right

boy im really regretting not pulling a move with the girl.

turning better hands, killing me softly

flopping flushes when i have top two and redraw to a K hi flush

im getting raped.

wrapping up pathetic session now

It had been a little while since I played and the BR just keeps spiraling downwards. I could have folded the 32 vs A5 hand where i flopped bottom two vs aggro. But there was a flush draw with the hand, and he could easily have A4cc or something like that. I probably should have folded, but we learn. The spiraling downward isn't fun at all. I'm trying to get better. But when you don't flop hands and you're playing with either aggro fish monkeys or passive calling stations, you get caught up in a jam. You can't bluff the calling stations and you really shouldn't be bluffing the aggro monkeys either. But with continuous losing like this, it's not a wonder I put off playing for as long as I do.

Such a needed day yesterday. It's rare that I get 2 days off in a week because the store is like slave labor. Seriously. Well, not really. But to give you an idea...when I started there three years ago, the store was given around 2,900 hours per week to distribute among different departments in the store. There were also a plethora of cashiers and the workforce was actually there to where there wasn't a shortage. We also did about half the business we do now because the area around us was in it's infancy of development. Fast forward three years later. We're doing twice as much business as three years ago and we're being given 2,500 hours a week and so many people are quitting because the conditions have become so bad that every department is stretched to the bone. This, in turn, forces people like me to have to work 6 days a week because they don't have anyone else to turn to. At any time though, I could simply just quit and get a better paying job (an Associate's degree isn't much, but it'll get, you know, a $12+/hour job).

Anyways, after the session I hung out with my friend who likes to date and **** guys twice her age. I don't get it at all, because she could easily get a guy her age (she's 19) since she is very beautiful. But it's always a fun time with her. Then me and my brother go to a baseball game (Triple A) and something happens to show a huge stroke of kindness. We're just waiting in line to buy tickets (he got parking, I was gunna get tickets) and some random guy walks up to us and gives us tickets. My first thought was panic, like oh crap this guy is a scalper and these tickets are fake. But why would a scalper give away tickets for free? So we go and the tickets are actual, valid tickets.

Now, I understand it's just AAA baseball, but free tickets ($15 a piece) with that good of a view is just amazing, and it was actually a great time and a good game. Shows that not all people are bad. Much needed day of entertainment, because with my one day off a week I usually spend it recharging and away from people. I can do that today though!

Assuming plans don't change (I kinda hope they do, but wouldn't be disappointed) I'm going to plan on two sessions. I gotta crank the volume out, because I'm at a pathetic pace right now. And I really have to stop losing, because the losing is really driving home a point of me not playing as much.

ehhhhh

oh man. horrible start alrteady. JJ<QQ to a 80bb stack looser player on a T45ssx flop.

and then just no luck at all HU

i even mouseslip and call a PF raise with 53o...and flop a straight. lesson: play more crap

ahhhhhhhh more pair vs higher pair

first set w AA

this is the frustrating part...im seeing these players call pf raises with absolute ****. but they outflop me and wont fold. so then i have to cut my cbet percentage back but then i look like a nit

wellwin a 100 bb stack. open QJo in CO, two blinds call. f QJ5ddx. SB donks, I raise, he shoves. snap call. he shows Q9 oif spades

win a good 90bb pot vs a spazz. see him raise pf and shove twice before. does the same. i have TPTK. snap call. turn top two

bad bluff by me. i didnt read the board texture fully when it paired OTT IE no A is folding on a AK88 board. he stationed down a tiple barrel w A5o

and then i get QQ, open, same guy calls pf and flop is 2KA. yeah, i know this guys tendencies, not doing anything on that board vs him

second set, decent pot, get a fish to call w TPNK. top pair, no kicker

good 93bb pot. open A8s in MP (not a usual open for me from that position) and a 100bb stack flats OTB. f A82r. I bet, he calls. its either an A or a set of 22. t 6. bet, call. now i know what he has. its an A, and the kicker is higher than the 8. river is a beautiful 2. i mash 85% of pot and he calls w AQ

well that was a frustrating hand. two limpers, i complete in SB w A2dd. one of the limpers has a 250bb stack and i have 230bb stack. f Q76ddd. i donk, SS calls, all else fold. turn. Q. I bet, he calls. river? Q. **** me. i check, he shoves. i fold. he shows 74spades.

revenge is sweet though, because two hands later i open AQo in CO, all fold to him, he shoves, i call and he shows T8spaces and i win his stack

i just seen the 250bb stack stack off OTF in a 170bb pot with J6 on a JT2 board. what?

win a good 100bb pot. one opener, 1 caller, i call in BB w A5spades. f 234xhh. check, bet, fold, raise, reraise, shove, call. he shows 33 and the board whiffs for him

not gunna lie, im running pretty good today.

my god this fish same J6 hand has 410bb and he is directly on my right.

i think i played this hand right. two limpers, i call in BTN w 98o. f 876. check, bet, fold. i plan to raise/fold bc i wanna see both cards, but not get stacks in 100bb deep. he raises, i fold.

then two hands after and immediate hand after that whale leaves, a loose player who was battling badly vs the whale opens in BTN (4 handed). bad player in SB calls. I 3bet in BB w AKo, guy 4bets, fold, i shove, he calls w AQo and the flop is all hearts giving him only 2 outs. i hold

ok, so the SB guy in hand above likes 3betting me to massive amounts

well that was stupid. guy opens in BTN, I 3bet small w AA in SB, he call. calls cbet on K92f and a shove (he was a SS) on 7 river. with 55. and he doesnt improve OTR. thats just ignant

wrapping sesson up now, getting a bit hungry

I ran good. I had good card distribution. I made a couple mistakes. The JJ<QQ hand. It's a toss up really because he didn't 3bet pre. And it was early in the session, so my default is "lolerroneadonk". So I thought he could have easily done it with a AT (whatever the high card was, I forget). Meh. And when the guy 3bet for the 4th time (all 4 times I had mediocre holdings, best being TT) I didn't lose my cool and attack with a reraise (I could have, but would have been risking 100bb with 99). And I was more alert and attentive than usual.

Voluntarily woke up at 6am so I could get to work an hour early. WTF!............Was honestly one of the smartest things I've done in the past week. Getting to the store, nobody in it, noone able to nag me....I got so much work done before my scheduled shift it was amazing.

Anyways, last night I sort of played another session. I didn't record it or anything because it was just zoom poker and some PLO. It's fun losing a whole 10nl BI AxKx<AxJc AIOTT 3xAcQc7c. And then losing to quads with AAxx on the safest PLO board ever, I think it was Q7494 with no more than 2 to a suit. So I lost like $20 from that.

My plan for tonight? Schedule me some classes! And play an MTT or two if I can find one. I've been putting off the classes for way too long and I honestly just have to get myself back into the groove to stop putting stuff like this off. And I still have some time to get the classes and fafsa and all that good stuff in.

(hehehe first hand in tournament, double up with nut flush...actually more than double up)

Anyways, good luck everyone (and no zoom poker!)

I haven't played a session since Sunday, and it'll probably be until at least Thursday that I get one in. Monday was my mother's birthday (happy 2nd 40th birthday) and I decided to spend some time with her instead of poker before work. Yes, good son .

Yesterday I really should have played a session. To my credit, I did work 8am-530pm but I should have honestly played after work. I didn't, and it's my fault. Instead, I spent my time texting the girl I was talking about because she wanted to go out and I wanted to go out as well. I know, this is bad, burn at the stake, et tu brute then down falleth caeser, whatever. You know, I've seen my current girlfriend twice in the last year. She's back home here for the summer and I keep getting excuses. Every time I try to dump her, she just cries and threatens to do something stupid. And I could never live with myself if she actually did go through with doing the stupid thing.

Anyways, here's the embarrassing part.

I get hard and excited a little too easy sometimes, and at these times the only thing going through my head is the pledge of allegiance, the least attractive thing on the planet, in hopes that little man can do a Benjamin Button and get smaller as time goes on. It's actually way better than before and way more controlled, but it still happens. Flame away!

So I tend to avoid much any physical contact on a first date. Which is really bad, because that's sure fire way to friendzonedom. And, alas, because of this I didn't pull any moves last night and it killed me because she obviously thought I wasn't interested (which is far from the truth).

Back to poker. I tried out the "zone poker" last night at 5nl (would have won $15 if not for losing QQ<AK=AK AIPF, instead won like $4) and I don't like it with the anonymous tables. It's essentially a luck fest because you can't get any reads because you don't know who is who and you can't observe someone's play so you're just playing in a vacuum. Your cards vs their cards vs the texture of the board. Much prefer the regular tables because you can get a feel for someone's play and you don't have to rely on one steadfast line each time because you don't know that player's tendency.

Anyways, good luck everyone today. My time spent well today before work working on my car (hint: don't let your oil drip low and your tires lose too much air).
You ever try wacking it beforehand? That should help some.

Also I would get rid of the current GF. If you are dating other girls, just break it off. Its what is best for both of you and is obviously going to end at some point.

GL in August.

I will next time we go out. See, this was spontaneous, I didn't even expect it to happen, so I couldn't really prepare for it. But next time it definitely will happen. And see, I've tried to end it but she threatens to kill herself and so I stay with her. It is going to happen soon, just gotta get the cajones.

So good news and bad news. I did register for classes. However, I am apparently ineligible to take classes because I've already graduated from the school. Which makes sense but kind of puts me in a limbo for the semester. Really isn't the worst thing in the world though. My friend keeps bugging me about going to Florida in October with her, and no school + 2 paid vacation weeks to use by December really makes it so that I can do that. Also, I can re-apply and get with Academic Advisers and really get back on track instead of guesswork at a frantic pace. I can also get this challenge at the forefront and pursue it a lot more than I recently have been.

Anyways, Summer has been skipped and it's pretty much fall like outside (I love the fall), so I'm gunna brew some coffee, put some hazelnut creamer in it, and enjoy a session outside. Good luck tonight everyone!

this breeze feels awesome. its been very boring pokerwise noone wants to join my tables

one of the darndest things im realizing now....ive been messing with my ranges. For the past month, ive been playing tighter. maybe that's why im losing. idk.

first flopped set but nothing

its been pretty pedestrian so far. biggest spot ive been in and made the correct fold. folding top two on a three to a straight board no flush possible

other than that though just been trading and such, losing a little winning a little

at least im learning something from this session: my battery is ****ing amazing and the extra $70 i shelled out was completely worth it

now if people would stop limping eveyr hand except KK maybe i could get a better read

winning a pot of any consequence would be swelll right about now lol. id even take losing a pot of consequence

one of the easier hand reads ive had and definitely the biggest pot won so far this session. two limpers, i raise w TT in SB, BB min 3bets. folds to me. im getting 4 to 1 straight up and 20 to 1 implied. but not 4betting ever here. f 397. ehhh. im in set mining mode becuase he's been tght. i check, he ckecks. turn is J. i check, he checks. it screams out loud what he has. river 3. i check, he inmsta pots. why the large bet? to scare me away. i tank-call and he shows AK

its getting cold and dark out here

the problem tonight is that the boards im getting give me no equity HU or small equity multiway

been in two all ins tonight both with tiny stacks. drew one, AQ=AQ AIOTT, and then a .21 stack calls my pf raise w Q9 multiway. KK<Q9 AIPF for .84 lol.

Wrapping up session now.

(NOTE: for the BR total, tonight it started at $454 and change. the overall loss total is going to reflect the stupid zone poker i played and lost at)

I lost a little bit tonight. But I can honestly say this was by far one of the best sessions I've felt like I've played in quite some time. I didn't open facebook. I didn't have youtube or television on in the background. I was taking notes and being attentive. It just so happens that I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn if I tried. But at least I played good and I feel rejuvenated for this challenge. Not going to let this stupid downswing get me down.

One thing I can be happy with about this current stretch, as I look through some of these PG&C threads, is the utter lack of tilt that I have. Not taking shots at higher levels because I need to win the money back. Not increasing my range to a 50% VPIP, not blindly bluffing at every board because "I'm due". I think that's all from years of mental preparation.

Chess is a game where you're going to lose. You're going to waste multiple hours on a game and you're going to lose. But you can't let it get to you; you've got a game in an hour. You must recover quickly or you'll have a downward spiral.

When I played football in high school, I only played for a year. I only played for a year because I just didn't have the size to play serious football. To give you an idea, I would be an undersized running back if anything. But I was a bit bigger back in the day, so I played all across both lines and linebacker. During our season, our team scored only 4 touchdowns. We got murdered most games. Most people quit. I didn't. I kept playing because I was having fun despite the result. Our best result actually came after everyone but 12 of us had quit.

The key here is that I learned to have fun and block out results whether winning or losing. That's something a lot of poker players just don't know. No offense, but a lot of poker players (especially online) have never tried a competitive sport except poker. They panic when they lose because they don't know how to react to a loss. Yeah, I get frustrated when I lose. But I don't go crazy. I think if more people had the experience of losing outside of poker, actually training and putting forth serious time towards something (not 1 or 2 hours a week "studying"), and all that just to lose, there would be far less tilt among poker players.

Sorry about the random musing. It was just an idea that popped into my mind as I was reading some PG&C threads this morning. No play today (which is quite a shame) but I'll try to get back on the horse tomorrow after work. Really motivated and really want to step my game up.

didnt think i would get a session in, but i was sent home two hours early

but its been relatively uneventful so far

well theres a bummer. fishy table, get KK, raise a limp, .61 stack shoves (really?), BTN calls, limper calls, i call (because i cant reraise)
f 37Qxcc. limper pots, i shove, BTN calls, limper calls (biggest stack other than mine had 50bb). limper has KQo, BTN has 54cc. club comes on river, yay

its been half an hour. nothing really out of the ordinary so far

lol bvb limped me in bb. make nut flushed checked down, just shove river after checked to me. too bad didnt work oops

sadly thats the biggest pot ive won tonight. get QQ,m open, 1 20bb caller. f 5c8x2c. x b c. t 8c. x b cAI. he shows AxKc. my luck, club comes OTR. but he unimproves

first set, 3bet pot, get a full 100bb+ stack. about time. open 66 in MP, BB small 3bets. I flat bc he has 150bb. f 67qsxs. he bets a stupid bet (.72) s i raise to a stupid amount (1.46). he raises to 3.33. so i just shove and he calls w KxKs. turn is scary 8s and river is a spade and i think i lose. until i notice its the 7s, and i win

and then get a 50bb stack. open KK, three calers. f JJJ. i check, he bets fold i call. turn is 8. i bet really small, he shoves, i call. he shows 44 for the drawing dead

2nd set vs a bluffer but no bite

wrapping up quick sesson now

This session dragged on. The beginning was fairly brutal and absolutely slow. It picked up, but I wasn't really feeling on top of my game. A little tired I guess. But I'll take a win any day, especially when I had no plans on playing today.

im sorry for the delay. i really havent had a chance to play, been very busy the last few days. Work all day thursday (literally, all day), relaxing friday, out with a friend and her niece all day yesterday

well, nice wake up call. first hand at a table, BTN opens and SS SB calls. I squeeze w TT, BTN folds and SB calls (???). f 538xhh. he makes a small bet, i just shove and he calls w AhJx. turn is a J. oh lovely.

when bottom ad top turn into counterfeit crap. urgh.

its gunna be a bad session, i can tell. 3betting QQ and two broadways coming OTF.

yeah, iuts gunna be bad. lost a flip w AK to a guy who's been open shoving every third hand. he had 33 and ive seen him do it with as bad as T7

talk about nitty folding. folding an overpair to a bet and raise on a paired flop.

frst set, not much.

and it was a bad fold. gave the OR wayyyy too much credit. the other guy had the same overpair i had

second flopped set and win a 90bb stack. lol he just bet bet bet

heh. not much since then.

eh, win a good 187bb pot on the samer table v another aggro maniac.

tried a move with a decent amount of equity vs a guy who looks like a reg. 77, flat in MP his UTG raise. f 235r. my plan with the low flop is a float raise. so i call his cbet. turn is a decent 6. so i raise his turn cbet. he raises that though and i gotta fold. right move vs a reg? obviously not vs a fish tho

win a "flip" that actually isnt a flip. AQo>64 AIPF 27bb stack

logical thinking through a hand is the most important read, and not stats

damn tried shoving in a limped/checked pot with FH on the board (i rivered a better full house). no die

3betting more in the blinds is profitable saays the sticky note i attach to the top of my forehead in public

never expect to win that big a pot with 92s with the exact correct read on the opponent. an 87bb pot, alright!

hmmm a guy called two strets with J hi no flush draw or straight draw

whoa wasnt expecting that. lol nvm an awful played AA by a fish. i happened to have his range crushed and id been bullying him around all night. then he leaves

I played alright. Not the greatest, but ok enough. It's good to win a session when you run under EV. The hand with the overpair on the paired board...I hadn't really gotten enough into the session yet to have reads. Readless, I still think it's a fold and I made the right play. But it's spilled milk. Let's keep on getting at it, starting with tomorrow!

reading boards and planning the hand out. something i just did and saved a bunch of headache

good to win an all in. iso raise KQo, 1 11bb stack calls along with 50bb original limper. f 7QJr. 11bb stack shoves his .68, 50bb stack calls. i raise instead of shove to set up a shove. on him. but he folds, 11bb stack shows Q5, and I hold.

frst AA. 3bet a iso raiser. he folds tho. meh.

flop bottom end of straight in a 5 way limped pot (im in sb w 43o, 3 100bb stacks with two being 140+). get two pot bets from bb. play it FAST

lost an AIPF in a 12bb pot lol TT<KK

there was a good move on my part, one i really havent tried much. one limper, one iso'er and a caller. im in bb w AJcc. instead of my default call...I 3bet . and take it down.

speaking of 3bet, win a 190bb pot 3betting AK in bb cbetting on a 885xddfop and shoving on a Ad turn. he calls w AJss

i just saw the worst played full house so far tonight. limped pot, K44K board. I bet in BTN w A9. BB calls ad UTG calls. river 3. checks around., BB shows a K. any king is second nuts behind 44. he never bets. :O

i am getting a lot of AK tonight.

there's an interesting hand. 1 limper, i raise w AKo OTB, SB 3bets and UTG calls.l alarm bells going off, but i have to flat having the BTN. f Q93hhx. SB bets and UTG calls. if an A or K shows OTF, i dont fold. i obviously fold and UTG really seems to only have QQ+ here. ever. bc i have the Kh.

ive seen 3 <20% underdogs OTT win OTR in AI pots in the last 5 minutes. so..like a 0.8% likelihood

been a slow 10 minutes. gunna take a small break at 750. thats something i havent done enough is take breaks.

ehhh im not sure i played that hand right or like my play. especially vs a shortstack.

what is with the trend of players passively playing AA?

im back. the tables look like they got better, so no overhaul yet.

set vs top two. ouch. thankfully the board was ddd, so the betting was scarce.

and then same table win a AIPF v 20bb stack QQ>KJo

being widdled down a bit. a whole bunch of naught.

best hand ....

holy crap. i just folded away pretty much all my profits with AA and KK SIMULTANEOUSLY. I was 100% correct in folding AA, as it was set vs straight draw (he called a 3bet with JT) and I feel certain I was 100% correct folding OTR w KK on a QQJ9J board OTR. i just saved my BR $14 bucks, which is like winning $14

the best hand ive had today before the straight i turned was misreading my hand as a straight and playing as such. i won the pot though!

fsiled light three bet

ever since that fold ive been anemically card dead....blehhhh

pffff...more "disciplined" folds to avoid losing.

win a good sized pot 3betting w AK vs an aggro and flopping trips lol. makes the game easier.

or flopping flushes.

or winning with QQ in a multiway 3bet pot. needed those hands as this session winds down.

Well, I book a small win. It feels better than the number indicates because if I'm not disciplined enough then I'm easily down a buy-in. And considering how bad the stretch was between those two folds and the end of the session, the win feels even better. I played one really bad hand and I forget which one exactly it was, but I'll look over it later. I also played 2 hours, making this a really productive day on my part. Cut the grass (my household is absurdly lazy so dishes tend to pile up until I do them and grass never gets cut until I get time to do it...it was about thigh high this time), go to work and get work done despite it being my day off, get some volume in...good productive day.

got a set but hit the absolute minimum.

this is....ive been playing for 25 minutes now. usually i have much more than this written by this time.

worst board, flopping top and bottom in BB on a 568r flop. turn 9 river T. eww

this has been the most useless session ever. but i gotta get the volume in

well that wasthe most exciting hand all session. 3bet KQdd in SB to BTN raise, he flats. f AsQxAx. I can't get any value by betting so its checked. turn 5s. there is the flush draw out there, but i still dont think i can bet. give him one more card. he checks back as well. river is 8s. interesting card. if i bet and face a raise i have to fold. so i let him bet. he does and i snap it off. he shows 98dd.

damn. flop quads in a multiway raise pot. couldnt get anything but one bet.

funny part: in my last 11 sessions, i have a 7-4 record. but ive lost almost 2 buy ins. damn you zone poker! but i learned my lesson

second quads ive seen in 15 minutes at same table. wasnt mine though

so many thiefs so i tried the classic nit making a set line. x/c flop, x/r turn. except i was 3bet OTT.

im wrapping the session up because its justbeen so dry and the tables sooooo bad

Holy crap. What a waste of an hour. The tables seemed very reggy, although that's what I'd expect at around noon ET. I didn't really get many "spots" and tried to create some myself. At least I focused as much as I could, that's about the only good take away from this session.

It's been a while since I did a pre-session post.

Anyways, I am on the world's worst winning streak. 4 in a row, to be exact. The BR hasn't even gone up by 1 BI if I remember correctly. But I'll take it. Have been making some good, disciplined folds the last two sessions, so it's really like Bovada wants me back on a downswing. Or maybe these are folds I should have been making from the beginning. Either way, here's to hoping for another winning session that isn't a complete waste of time! Got the coffee brewing (I know I said I need to cut out some coffee), got some comfortable sweat pants on, storms just passed on through, it's grind time!

3betting more is a must. i dont wanna be a nit.

hit a set, playing a little looser (but not much). a bunch of HU to begin. experimenting with opening min HU.

hit a set early HU not much

winning flips AIPF for 12bb pots is baller status. 77>AKo

**** i didnt think this coffee thing thru....i may have to poop midway thru session.

second won AI pot, this time AIOTR. AK>AJ for a nice 57bb pot

boom. sick set up 3handed though. KK>AKhh AIPF for a 50bb stack.

pot pot smash va bad player HU. i can get used to this

damn flop te world vs him and he does nothing. oh well, such is life

idk what im seeing. guys calling AIPF w 43o, guys shoving blindly PF....I created a monster of a table

at least i know when to get out of a bluffing line before losing too much

once again, 3betting is good.

3-0 with all ins today, this time w A9s>K3o

arghhhh. ill never understand that play. guy who i think is semi thinking min opens and i flat in BB w 87dd. f Tx54dd. gin. I want to get the money in, especially because he has seemed passive. i check, he bets, i raise, he flats. im playing it like a set and i think he is thinking. turn Ad. I bet like 80% of the pot bc iut either hits him hard or not at all. he calls, which i love. im sitting here thinking big Ax. river is Jd and i utter a swear word. x, he bets half pot....and i have to call. he shows Td9x. Yes, Td9x. what? nh sirrah (i suck my thumb in your general direction)

while typing that, win two nice pots. AJ>AT vs a maniac shorty on a AQ2 flop, 4-0 AI pots so far

second one is a really nice pot. i honestly am not paying attention PF and check in BB. f 97J and i just check, still not noticing my cards. it checks around. turn T. i look at my cards, and holy crap it's KQ! I bet, UTG raises, I reraise, he calls. river 3. I bet...not overpot shove, but just a solid value bet so his 8s call. he calls and he has Q8 (and that's amazing he didn't shove or anything) for a nice 140bb pot

ooo third set, decent pot

just seen an AA v AA AIPF pot both 160bb deep. i was in the pot at one point preflop w J9s since im also 160bb deep at that table

mandatory 5 minute break here soon

just before break i win a nice pot, AT>KT. had tow hearts, flop had two low hearts, turned TPTK.

i swear the storms that came thru dropped the temperature like 20 degrees, feels just like fall again

win another 130bb pot witha straight. this time guy flopped set, no action OTF and bets OTT after i turn the gutshot into an actual straight. this time i knew the whole way what cards i had bc it was a raised pot pf

omg. just in a 3bet pot with a 185bb stack and i had 185bb also. i had KK and saw the worst flop while flopping a set: AKJsss. i won it though. the guy has been pretty active

5-0 now today in all ins. this time A9o>KQo on 8TQA board...for a 14bb pot lol. hey, ill take it

another decent pot, seems to be the norm today.

just got TT at a table, iso'd a limper ad took it down. exact next hand get same TT. open, two 100bb callers. f 838. bet, fold, call. turn 8, glorious card. bet, min raise. i think i should honestly just flat there because he is way behind with the exception of 8x and JJ. instead, i shove and he folds. still a nice pot though

6-0 in AI pots. guy i beat with TT definitely tilted. iso w 99 in BTN, he calls in SB. f 554, x bet call. turn 5 (lol i love these boards). he pots, i min raise (he started with a 50bb stack) and he calls being AI with....T8. i am not pulling a joke; it really happened.

probably a board i shouldnt have cbet. too many calling stations to cbet after stealing in SB w 77 on a Q95ddh flop. however, once im committed t that line i need to bet again when 8h comes OTT with my slightly increased equity. to my credit i actually do that. but the Jh river is the absolute worst card possible. just goes to show how different actions on the flop dictate how one should play the handin later streets

wrappping session up now

Feels good to have a 2 BI winning session. A BI per hour is graciously welcomed. I ran good, and I'll admit it. There were some stupid luck spots (come on, how often does one hit 2 gutshots in one session?) and still some spots I should have gotten out of (87dd comes to mind OTR). I played decent, but probably not as good as I've played the last two nights. And that's the tricky, sucky part about poker. You can play your A game and still win less than playing your B game. Whether it's based on opponents, time of day, card distribution, etc.

So I'm reading the ESPN Big Ten blog today and notice that they link Bovada in one of their articles about Big Ten over/under for season wins. Face palm. Epic. Face palm. I mean, the U.S. government already knows about Bovada; we don't need even more publicity on the website shouting "hey, here we are!" Other face palm? There are two only teams with an over/under of 11.5 wins of 12: Alabama and my team, Ohio State. In case you don't know, I hate high expectations.

Anyways, I'm going to start a session here shortly. Get done with it at an earlier time and kind of take a night to myself. I've been on a good grind pace the last few days and I really want to keep it up. Unfortunately, today will be the last until probably Sunday as I work all day tomorrow and then Saturday morning to evening, with more football Saturday night. And I will be extremely pleased if it's anything like last night, and if it is, then it'll be the first time in a month that I've seen a BR over $500. Good luck everyone!

a bunch of tables opened up when i was loading. still gunna start one though, the one i had with the crazy bad players was from me starting a table last night

i now know why people put creamer in their coffee. not bc of the taste, but to deter heartburn. its been getting to be a bit of a problem lately, so i cut out orange juicefrom my morning routine in favor of v8.

well, when you dont think players can get worse. full stack opens to 5x in MP, BB min 3bets. i fold TT in BB. MP 4bets, SB calls. f A23r. SB shoves, MP calls. SB: A4s MP: 99. :O

win a 94bb pot from said SB from above. folds to him in SB who min raises. i just flat w 77 in bb bc a 3bet is meh. f 332. pot, i call. turn 9. pot, i call. river 4. he pots again. i tank and call. he's repping a big pair, but ive seen him do this with crap. he flips T7o and i get pushed the pot.

1-0 in all ins, KK>97s vs SS on 38TQ board. river 9.

lost my first AI in 3 days. gotta lose at some point, ad it was to a 17bb stack. KK<33 AI on 369Q board. couldnt put him AIOTF bc there was another player in the pot. what he's doing calling a riase for 16% of his stack pf idk.

2-1 in AI pots. KK>Q9s AIPF (seeing a trend here?) vs yet another SS. ive been dealt KK 4 times in first 20 minutes. good omen hopefully

when you iso a person while IP and they donk on you. you have one over + gutshot,...eh **** it, i had AQo on KxTs7s f and he donks for half pot.

first flopped set...and i lose an all in vs a half stack. 2 limpers so i just check w 44 in BB. f Ax5c4c. I donk out, UTG calls, MP folds. turn Tx. I bet, he flats. river Qx. i check so that i can feign a missed semi bluff or get him to value bet with his AT and A5 and stuff. he obliges, I shove on him, and he tank calls w TT. I just sit there and roll my eyes.

one SS limper in BTN. he seems meh. I iso raise w AQo in SB, BB folds. he shoves. I tank-call. good call, he shows K8. flop a pair of queens, river K fml. chalk one up to mr sklansky

well, just "sucked out". although not sure you can call 16 outs sucking out. 2 plyaers limp, i limp KQss in BTN. f Kx9s5s. SS bets, i raise, SS cals. turn Jx. SS checks, i put him AI and he calls w...AA. river is Js.

more disciplined play. open AKo in CO, two tighter 100+bb stacks in blinds call. f Ax9c5c. checks to me, i bet, SB calls, BB folds. aread suspicious. turn 7x. he checks. i dont think i make a mistake not betting the turn. he should 3bet a lot of his high Ax. so it's either a FD or set. river 7x, decent card. he overbets pot and i just flat instead of raise (i would have done that about a couple months ago). he shows 99. no raise bc he doesnt call with any worse given the hand and his image.

break time

it's been a very tame 15 minutes since coming back from break.

its not worth stealing with garbage hands when SS are in BB

second or third flopped set and win an AI pot! for 127.5bb and i waited till just the right time to raise. it was a raised pot pf as well.

missed vaule? BTN (a very tight player) opens and SB calls. squeezing isnt a bad play here ithink with 87s, but i flat. f T84. checks around, strangely. t 8. bet, i think i raised....no, i didnt. tight player folds. r 4. SB checks. im not sure if i can bet there or not. no real reads on SB.

i think when i squeeze i have to raise more. crap.

heh. they dont 3bet when you have aces.

whew what a flop weith KK lol AcQcQx. and no, i dont have a club.

well, if i could ever get anyone to fold anything ever, that'd be great.

wrapping up session now, this has been a rather crummy last half

Well, my 5 game winning streak has officially ended. What can I say? There were just a whole bunch of "what the hell?" moments in this session. Mainly the first half. Like the 44 hand. Who limps TT preflop, then doesn't raise on the turn when they turn their two outer? Who limps AA preflop when shortstacked? I took optimum lines when possible and it was a lot easier playing against the regs than the fish tonight. My problem was that playing against the regs was a lot of pot control when I felt I had the second best hand. When a nit stays in an A high pot and doesn't 3bet a CO opener pre-flop, that's a set all day every day. Another problem I had tonight was that I was getting 3bet when I didn't want to and not getting 3bet when I wanted to. I didn't really get many spots to try any preflop "moves", and really the only one I tried ended awfully with both players calling my squeeze (I had A3o). It really is disappointing because I was up over a BI early and had to watch my profits slowly drip away and that is just how it seemed the session was destined to go. At least I played a decent game, on par with yesterday.

took a nap after work, definitely lasted an hour longer than what I wanted. eh, oh well.

that was a terrible line with JJ, should have definitely squeezwed pre

people flopping flushes vs me bvb, gotta be awesome.

think ive literally won 1 pot in 25 minutes

heh the lolimadonklimp/raise

youve gotta be kidding me. finally get the fish where i want them in a big pot...and then the flush completes multiway. omg. frustrating.

maybe i wasnt meatn to play a session today lol ive won 3 pots and can't connect or even put myself in good spots.

4th pot! frst pot won preflop too. thats kinda sad

identified a reg adn noted he'll go broke w TPGK.

oops, went back to FT/PS days when bet slider was above buttons

idt there is a right answer to this. vs an unknown, only clue is they have a full stackand its their first hand, he 3bets your BTN raise and you have AQcc. 4bet/gii or flat?

break time soon. much much nbeeded.

this guy has folded his BTN steal every time ive 3bet in BB.

he caught on. he said "stop 3betting me please!!!"

ugh. another flopped flush vs me. this time it got me. SS limps, I raise in SB w AKss, he flats. f 567hhh. come on. I cbet, bc its a good board to do so. he flats and i decide im done unless the board gets better. t 6x. check/check. river is Ax. great card. I check/raise for some reasn (he is a shortstack). i should just bet out. he shows AThh (youve gotta be kidding me)

youre kidding me. same guy makes straight while i gedt top two. luckily, i take the notion that it's alimped pot so i shouldnt go broke when facing aggression

and the same ****ing guy i finally get a flush with 98s and he plays T6s and gets a higher flush. yes, I did raise preflop.

finally won a pot of consequence after all this stupid run. not big, but biggest today so ill tae it. flop bottom two and turn a boat.

hmm. really isnt my session. one limper (he isnt good), i raise in CO w 9x9c, he flats. f 2x8c6c. check, i bet, he flats. turn is Qc, which is how the day has been going. he checks. i debate between betting nad checking. i decide to check and see the free card. river is 3c. he checkis. i have showdown value and i cant get better to fold. so i check. he has 2xKc. what the hell he is doing caling any bets is beyond me.

oh. my. god. i have never felt happier winning an all in than that moment, i really needed that. MP min raises pre ad K2 fish calls. I'm in BTN w AKhh and say **** it and 3bet. MP insta pots, which is weird. I tank, and i mean tank. MP was a full stack, seemed very meh. not bad, but not great either. I finally decide to ship it. He tanks and calls and flips over AQdd. flop is 9xKd5x. turn is i think 8x and im just so thankful to win a pot that size

granted, ive gone back to flopping nothing since though.

unless something miraculous happens, this is going to be a losing session.

All I can say is what a crappy session this was. I 3bet light a few times in BTN v BB situations, which helps a little bit. I restrained myself when facing aggression. I did all I could do to lose the minimum I could today. I know the best players in the planet can turn sessions like these into winners vs. top class players. I can't. But I'm not facing top class players. I'm facing players who don't respect your raise. Trying a bunch of moves, being uber aggressive, super thin value betting...these moves aren't going to work much. It's really tough when the card distribution is against you the whole night, yet you still have to play some hands. You can't fold your way through a session. But I'm damn proud of how I played, and I kept myself together and didn't tilt (as I never do).

Plan for tomorrow is to go out and play some golf in the morning then just play some poker, relax, etc. Everyone is back in school and most everyone I know has real jobs now so not many people have mondays free. And at least when I can, I'm putting more hours in than I have previously.

FML. Had plans to go golf. It's a beautiful day and only day off that isn't Saturday. Wake up, look down at my phone, get extremely dizzy. FML. Looks like I'll be in all day (not driving) and pokering and xboxing. In fact, just registered for a $2 superstack PLO that I've always wanted to play. And I just whiffed completely Jd8d9s5s on a Td7d5x flop, not all in of course though.

very first pot, win an AI vs SS. open 85s HU, he flats. f 58Jxdd. he donked, i raised, he called. t 2x,he calls a bet. r 9x, he calls shove with 97

3betting HU w K3s...imlearnin a lil bit

another SS stack. KJ>77 AI OTF 54J.

ouch seeing someone drawing dead on the flop. without flopping a boat or quads or flush or straight flush/. 88 vs K8 on a 2KK rainbow flop.

and yet another SS stack. AA>KQs AIPF. also flopped first set since Saturday in cash game

which reminds me, finished 13/37 inthe PLO tournament. turns out i have a lot to learn about PLO

another short dizzy spell. i actually looked up possible causes online. could be something called DDPV (if i remember correctly), which perfectly describes me. long periods of complete normalcy (months at a time) followed by like a short period where i get extremely short (like a minute or so) burst of dizziness.

won a 100bb stack...by floating! ope TT in UTG, 100bb stack flats in BTN. f K96hhx. i check, and with the check i intend to float a bet to get to a cheap showdown. he bets and i flat. well, turn is te ridiculously lucky Tx (i dont have Th). i lead out, he raises, i shove, he calls w 66.

awesome. got a 100bb stack just came to the table and he is trash talking. yes. epic yes.

everyone keeps min raising OTB. i get it, but think its stupid. keep the raise pf the same no matter what position or holding.

damn. turned nut straight multiway in a raised pot after a bet and call on the flop. but noone wanted to play

the tables at which i won the SS stacks from, aside from the 230bb table, have been widdled down.

holy moves. i know i justgot QQ or something to fold. 180bb stack opens, 100bb stack calls OTB, i just flat in BB w TT since im 235bb deep. i could squeeze but itd be awkward to face a 4bet. f JJ6. check, bet, fold, i call with a specific plan in mind. turn is 3. no flushes. i check. OR tanks and bets about 2/3 pot. this is a good spot toooooo...bet/fold. I have repped a weak hand and no doubt would take this line with a J. so i raise a small amount and he folds.

had to leave my 260bb table because it was atrociously bad

oh wow. iso raise fish w AKo, another meh player in BB calls. f 7hJhAx. check to me, i bet, BB calls, fish folds. turn J. eh. checks to me, I bet, BB calls. river J. he checks. i figure he has an A so i check back and he has 99. huh.

heh finally lost an AI pot. to a 10bb stack. AK<K7 AI OTF 986.

for some reason i can never catch anyting when im at the worst table (fishiest) of the 4

i think that was perhaps my finest fold. limped pot im in BB w 65o. checks around on J54 flop, UTG bets and i call on 2 turn. 5 r, i lead out and UTG raises. i think only for a little bi and fold. i hadnt seen him get out of line, seemed pretty TAG, etc

poker is dead. seeing a guy call for all his chips with Q4o on a 982 rainbow flop.

peopl;e flat 3bets for 12% of their stack with T9. alright. not that im complaining, i won the hand. but yeah, just strange.

quick potty breaks are always necessary

its been a relatively boring 2nd half as uisual. buncha J2o and 94o.

i guess i could iso raise w A2s.

ewwww i feel gross after doing that. open AKhh in UTG 4handed, BTN 3bets (he's 3bet me once before, once again OTB). I 4bet and he shoves (he has 60bb). I call and he shows AKo. 8xQhJx flop. Jh turn. 6h river. im happy, obviously, but i know how that feels on the other side.

ive only flopped if i remember correctly one set in the last 4.5 hours of cash game play. ad that was top set of AA AIPF.

wait...fees like im missing one

god dammit my last 4 preflop raises have been 3bet. and theyve been with pretty mediocre holdings.

Wrapping session up now, longest ive had since June 29th.

heh. everyone nits up as their wrapping their sessions up.

and the time you want them to 3bet, they dont.

So I end the day with the second highest BR total I've had in August. I know this is cliche, but I do feel I'm playing a lot better than when I was in my downswing (who knows, maybe I'm still in it?). The major difference is both folding and staying in hands more. Learning what hands vs what actions are good to go to showdown, and which ones simply aren't going to be good. If I'm raised holding top pair on a wet board, fold. Take different actions and such things.

Sadly, I'm right at pace with last month in terms of hours played overall (although I haven't counted the Zoom poker I played and lost badly in earlier in the month). My volume was awful at the beginning of the month, whereas it's picking up now. My ultimate goal for this month will be to break $500 (again). Hopefully I can put a bunch of volume in for September, because I'm taking one of my two weeks of paid vacation (I need a serious break from my job). So there's that!

well these tables look god awful. introducing a 5nl table because of said fact

eff it. 15 minutes in and can only get 2 10nl tables an 1 5nl table. bring on 5plo!

damn. seriously short on action here. 4 handed table, gy squeezes, i 3bet w AKo, he calls (he has 75bb stack). f 3QA. check, i bet, he shoves, i call. he has AQ.

actually win a significant pot, 96dd>KTo on 7dJdQx3d9x board.

and one of the 10nl tables breaks. jeez

for some reason its ultimately easier flopping sets in PLO...idk why

holy nitty or great folds, idk which. brand new table, 3 limpers, i check w 99 in BB (bc its a new table). flop 9hAxKh. i donk out, one 95bb caller., turn was 3x. I bet again, guy calls again. river is 7h. i guess i should bet/fold this card. instead i check and guy (remember, first hand at the table) pots. its an AhXh or flush that got there every time. i fold. looking at the guy now though, makes me think i should take the bet/fold or just call line, he seems....eh not that great

win a nice pot in PLO. KK56 flops top set vs 2nd flush. river full house. actually up $6 in PLO

wow wtf raise to 23bb in PLO and get 4 callers w AA99. the flop is awful KT6.

ugh lose to a SS flopped bottom two v flopped idiot end of the straight. i only called his shove bc he was LAG...and bad at it

yeah um im quittin. seriously. ****ing bull**** session. AA vs 88 AI vs 50bb stack who calls and raises anything on a 78Q7 board

Yeah, what can I say? Absolute bull**** session. That's pretty much it. Not like I wasn't paying attention or anything. Just. Bull****. Flopping top two vs TPTK in a 3bet pot with a <3 SPR? A fish flopping a set, the best card for me coming, and he has the one hand I can't beat? Pff. Whatever.

i figure get an hour in before my super awesome 230-11 work shift. hey, at least its friday!

the tables looked good when i started....hey, holiday friday weekend

kinda eh i didntplay yesterday. wanted to, but worked 8-11 and 3-615, with lunch/shopping with a friend in between. and ****, get home and watch some college football!

trying out some headphones i found here at home. really though about buying a pair of AE2s or OE2s yesterday (Bose). lot to shell out, but if it lets me focus more on te poker games then +EV

heh good god this is like whiff city so far

ok lets try to get it in PF w 99...nope. 3bet a loose aggro SS w 99 he just flats and folds to my shove

ok.....people still call preflop raises with 94off. and call cbets with just gutshots.

:O bluffs DO work at 10nl?!?! BVB, SB min raises and i just flat instead of 3bet with A2o. f 9hTxTh. he bets 2bb. seriously? i flat, with the plan of repping on a good card. 3x. gpood enoug for me. he bets 1/2 pot, i go 3x his bet (i believe he has some sort of draw or low pair at this point). he folds QQ face up. :O

eh made a flush vs fishy. too bad he got disciplined and folded his super underpair

first AI pot for me, and I win vs shorty. QQ>AK AIPF

that moment when you correctly anticpate how a hand is going to go preflop so you fold a pocket pair OTB to one 100bb raise. two shorties in BB and I figured one would shopve. yup, and OR folds like a wimp.

lose an AI. to a SS. SS (6bb) limps in UTG, 110bb stack raises, I 3betwithAA, 6bb stack calls, 110bb stack calls. F JTJr, I bet and 110bb stack folds. 6bb stack, who is already AIPF, shows J9o.

then other SS at same table turns his gutshot vs my KK, but I fold.

I'll write up a August wrap-up and September goals later after this session I play. Gist of August: Fight through the awful losing streak, wind up pretty much BE, don't get nearly enough volume in. Better than the awful July I had though, it's turning around!

Also, I splurged yesterday. Got a pair of Bose AE2's. My god, the sound is amazing. Much more amazing than any headphone I've had before. Also, even though they do not cancel noise out actively, they do a nice job of doing it when I have music or something playing. And they're really comfortable as well.

hasnt been much to write about because, well, aside from the first 20 minutes ive had to fold a bunch. just won a 3way 3bet pot w AK, but like my only other 3bet pot so far, the flop came all low cards that shouldn't hit me ever (if i dont light three bet)

dammit. 5bet shove QQ into meh player (he posted in UTG) and he folds JJ preflop

AA twice in a row. too bad everyones nits.

bad grammar above

just saw most confusing hand. they must be on a higher level than me

eh, iso raisedf with 88, get a new player to call and the limping SS (damn shortstacks). cbet on 34Q f, new player cals. bink an 8 turn and get another value bet from him. hye folds to the bet OTR that would have left him only .15 left

finally starting to get some kind of run, clawing my way back

why we sometimes raise 87s preflop: fish will call with 65s preflop OOP

i guess i was supposed to take a break, but didnt notice. will in a little bit, see if any sort of small run continues

i tellyou what, as far as flopping goes, aside from the flopped nut straight earlier, ive been relying on 2nd pair and air a lot tonight.

turned straight (in limped pot), river fills in the one card i have and makes the guy get a straight (higher) with a straight on the board.

vs fish, get overpair, plan to value bet (he's a station) ad flushie hits.

more people rivering straights.

fold again to the fish again when the flush gets there. theyre like flush magnetgs i swear.

eww laving another reggy table. its not that im scared...i can just make a lot easier money

yeah im quitting after that

****ing unbelievable. This fish who I had observed play horribly and extremely laggy flats my raise with AK. Raises my bet on an AT5r flop. I shove, because I've seen him do this before with TP no kicker, and he shows a set of god damned 5s! That's how I've run today. The fish are a buzzsaw and I can't get out of their way. It's crap. Just awful run, so I just quit. What am I supposed to do, fold whenever a bad player shows aggression and I have something after going literally 1 1/2 hours of just pure nothing? No. That guy easily has AQ, A9 there and he flopped a set. Must be ****ing nice to do. It's bull**** is what it is. I can pick spots decently when I have nothing but when I finally get something to work with, they just have it. It's ridiculous and gone on this whole week. Yeah, I lost 3 buy-ins...of pure ridiculousness. And sue me, I didn't play 2 full hours because I'd rather not play and not tilt than keep playing and dealing with superfish.

i realized yesterday i gotta just be patient. study hard(er). think about my actions. ill make it through and win money if i stick to that.

wow two nice sized pots vs same villain. TPTK, he bluffs at it two streets. 2nd nuts, he calls a x/r by me on a 4AKT flop with J9.

on the right of massive whale who has a 500 big blind stack. damn.

lost a meh pot. raise KdJx pf 4 handed, 2 callers. f 854ddd. check. I make the mistake here. i dont cbet, and this is a good spot to cbet. monotone flop, yeah. anyways, checks around to river where i river a pair of jacks. guy flopped bottom set. dont lose much money at all, but just a badly played hand on my part

at least i can still 3bet light. turn a hand with no equity (K6s) to a small pot won.

god that massive whale now has 590bb.

now 0-1-1 in AI pots today. QQ = QQ AIPF, AKs<82s AIPF for large 14bb pot

first set flopped in like a week and leads to a nice 83bb win.

thats a crap situation. iso raise 4 handed with A7s a SS and have a fish in SB call and then the SS shove. without the SB in the hand left to act,m i snap call (he had 15bb). with SB in hand, have to fold.

well 0-2-1 now. same SS who shoved 82 preflop 3bet me, I shoved on him (he had 15bb) with A9o, he snaps with KK. damn shortstackers lol

im still jizzing with these bose headphones. half volume on my laptop and everything outside is blocked out

folding JJ in SB to a pfr and a BTN 3bet. to be fair, i havent seen BTN play many hands at all.

flopped 2nd set. oh, and won a full 100bb stack. guy musta thought i was a fish? he called a x/r w 99 on Q43xss flop, a bet on an 8x turn, and a shove on a 7x river.

when squeeze plays dont work

lost an AI pot PF AKs<KK. KK limps, guy to my right who has been very active min raises. i planned before, with position, to just call a raise with him since we had been playing a bunch of pots together. limper makes an insane raise. guy folds. going through my mind, this wreaks JJ, mid pair (otherwise, why so large?) i can get those hands to fold sometimes to a shove, plus i have good enough equity when he does call with those hands. not this time thoiugh, but im pretty sure i made the right move (mathwise at least)

This first session (I'm gunna get two today) was good. I played good and I wasn't stressed or angry or anything like that. I wanted to play, made some moves, made a bunch of notes, etc. The AK hand I'm still sure I made the right play with it, but even if it's the wrong play then it's razor thinly wrong. But even the fact that I thought that deeply about the hand while it was happening is a good thing.

hugee flop A2cc f Ax5c4c

nothing much of note so far. tables a lot drier than earlier. although i have already managed to misread a straighht, and only realize as i was about to click "raise". sir, 45789 is not a straight

easy game when people call three streets of value wit 4th pair.

misplayed a hand. opened AQo, SB SS flats. f QT5r. x, i cbet and he calls. turn is K. his KT and KJ type hands are winning now, but i think he raises with KJ. he checks. my mistake is not bet/folding here, giving him a chance to bet me out on the 8 river. he pots it and i have to fold.

thats a sick read from a new player shortstacker to call down with second pair.

whew rough session. not losing rough, just need (and am thankfully using) patience.

lost only real pot of significance ive played. iso raised AQo and guy in BB calls. f 4c8cAx. i had a note on this guy, he played TPGK aggressively. check, i bet, he calls. t Kx. check, i bet, he calls again. i dont tink he has AX or a set, so im ahead and its likely a draw. river is Kc. ****. he checks, i check back and he shows Jc7c for the straight. a litte nagging when you put in money for 3 consecutive sterets winning and none when losing and you still lose th epot, but its poker

one big stack limps, i limp w 76s, three other limpers. f 543xss. check, bet, big stack calls, i raise, all fold to big stack who calls. turn 2. awesome card. check, i bet again, he calls. river 2. no flushes. he checks. his sets would have raised OTF. and if he plays 52o, WP sir. so i shove. he calls with...get this....54. yes, a pair of sevens beat him. essentially nothing, and the huge pot is pushed my way

interestin. SS non good player limps OTB, i raise w QQ in SB, he shoves. I snap. he shows 9c6c. i have no clubs. flop 47Tccc. ??????

flopped my first set w QQ same table exact next hand (not enough time to rebuy sadly) both blinds call raise f AsAxQs. SB bets, BB calls, I raise, SB calls, BB folds. turn Tx. check, I bet, SB calls. river 3s. check, I shove, he calls. and shows A3. great river. i dont think i should ever check back, most of his A will call the river, along with the rare flush. AQ 3bets pre. only leaves AT or A3.

humph. same tabkle, get AA and open pre, BB huge stack calls. f 45ss2x. check bet call. turn 8x. check. i take an unorthodox line and check back. river 4, very good card. he bets out and i raise. ill get most of hios pairs to call. he calls...with 43o and im just shaking my head. (id seen him previously flop nut straight with 76s...in a 5bet pot!)

So at the same table in the stretch of 10 stupid minutes, I wash away all profits from the day and more. I played good. Not as well as I did earlier but not nearly as unfocused and uncoordinated as last night. Seriously, rivered twice and losing QQ to 69 flopping a flush? I can't stand up to that. I was patient. Played well. And still lost. Getting a little tiring, but what can you do?
