little bit of rust but it's ok. starting up table old fashiond way and within first 10 minutes win a multiway AI 90bb pot with KK good way to start

but once again gting ownd HU by a fish calling station lol. when i say owned, i mean like losing small pots.

ad just like that, owning fishy go by by. bye bye*. AK>44 AIPF.

lol on the right of a spewing full stacker.

thats a sucky position. TT in SB, fish m,in raises in BTN. why sucky? BB calls ANYTHING preflop and so does BTN. im not sure if TT is good against 2 random hands, so best option is t sigh flat. (BTN had KK, BB had 62o and won)

BOOM! UTG opens to .50 (????), 60bb stack calls, I 3b to 1.6 in BB w KK, both call. f 762r, I bet, UTG folds, 60bb shoves and I call. he shows T9?!?!? lol and i win the pot

i feel gross with this hand. pfr w J9o in BTN, SB calls (he is a fish), BB folds. f JQcc3x. he checks so I bet and he calls. turn is 2x. he checks. this is probably a good spot for a value bet, because i believe he has some sortof draw or weak pair. but instead i check (ugh) and he bets out on a 7c river. i dont think i can call there (it was a $1 bet into a $1.4 pot)

wow. thats just ridiculous. guy 3bets my oepn. he is absolutely awful, so i flat IP. I have AJo f A28. he bets, I raise, he calls. turn is safe 8, he checks, I shove, he calls with of course 8T. . it happens.

i know i say these players are terrible and fish a lot. but theyu seriously are. i go out of my way to not play against the better players because there seriously is no need to.

two good pieces of info.

1. guy i thought was somewhat solid is actually really bad. shopved J5 on a J768 board after playing hyper aggressive OTF.

2. I just won a 300bb pot holding the nuts. JTs on a 289Q3 board multiway.

and I flopped my first set of the session. awesome, could have used it sooner.

anoter brag: ill be making double time tomorrow for 8 hours.

potential big hand. but....noone bet so i bet and took it down with djust a straight draw

damn. get AQo in UTG and accidentally limp. oif course the one time i have a misclick, tere is an iso and a 3bet.

iso'ing A9o. getting a bit looser in that regard.

no tight SS'er, I will not call your 3bet shove with 99 in a multiway pot!

and another SS stack. 99>AJ AIOTF 234.

tat's seriously the most profitable people to play against on here is the short stackers. theyre terrible and atrocious.

i do need to find a course on how to flop sets. maybe punch an innocent bunny each time i have a PP preflop.

i still don't understand what is up with players playing big pairs so passively. but it seems to work. i didnt lose to it this time, but it still puzzles me.

eh just lost an AIPF to two SS. AKcc<77<AKdd. meh.

mannnn hit the wall on just no cards, no flops, etc.

hahahahahahahahalol. tats funny. get AA SS limps i raise he calls. f Jc9x5c. I just shove, he calls. 97cc, turn is the other 9. hahah lol.

and with that, knowing ive hit the wall and its lunch time, i wrap up session.

I started out slow, and I was probably playing my B game the whole day. But my B game should probably still beat the 10nl games, especially with how fishy the tables were today. I made a couple of mistakes, but we're all going to make them and I'll go back and look them over Tuesday. But it happened once again. Start the session meh, then get cards, then just BAM brick wall. I actually had much more focus towards the end of the session than I did during the middle of the session.

Or even when you bink a $2 180man for a nice $100 score...

In any event, good luck, and if you ever grind up enough of a roll to take a shot at the live game, PM me and I'll give you a free coaching session.

Thanks for the tips! I have thought about playing MTTs. They're fun and have a lot of "free cash" in them so to say, but my problem with them is that they tend to take too long. If poker was my sole income and sole job, MTTs would 100% be a part of my play. However, my work has me work 6 days a week with very sporadic hours (late at night, early in the morning) so the only time I can really play MTTs is working in the morning or on a very few day off (today is day 7 of 12 without a day off). I may start adding MTTs and may play some on Saturday assuming there isn't anything else for me to do. And unfortunately, Bovada's SNG MTTs never go off.

There is one live Casino within 10 miles of my house. It's literally just down route 40 for me. Then there is one in Toledo, Cleveland, and Cincinnati (but the one just down the street from me has the largest room). I took a few shots when I had some money but wasn't really used to the live poker scene, so I just wised up and went this route.

Today is day 9 of 12. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but seriously scheduling someone 12 straight days in a row at the same job and giving them only 3 days off in one month has to be some sort of labor violation, especially when the said person never agrees to it. Anyways, the really long stretch is done for (29 hours over memorial day weekend) which means I am free to play some more poker finally! And that I will....sometime after breakfast.

Good luck today everyone!

starting a bit later tan i wanted, driving rang took a long time.

boom! 2nd orbit at a table, 80bb stack min raises from UTG and i 3bet w TT SB. he calls. ive viewed him as a bit questionable. f 765dxd. I bet 60% of the pot and he calls. t is Jx. I bet 50% of the pot and he calls. r is 7x. all draws miss. i tank and checkl. he has a lower pair or flush draw a lot givn the action. he bets and i call. heh, he shows 44.

ugh. aggro fish to ,my left who calls and bets everything. call him down on a 446K8 board w A6. he has top of his range w AKs. down 70bb to him already.

and then he paid me off a bit.

i keep going back and forth with my iso raises. how much tey are.

i am just losing confidence with any pocket pair, and it's showing. it seems an overcard(s) always show and I kinda lock up. doesnt help that im just not hitting sets at all either.

damn. KK<AKo AIPF vs 35bb stack. then, like all other scum SS, he ratholkes and leaves.

AKo OTB, UTG opens and then 2 other callers. what to do?

and that is exactly how t o not play KK. lol small bets on drawy boards.

jesus lol im not sure the lasttime ive hit a set OTF.

and as i say that i turn a set. not otf, but turn is good.

very interesting flop. and turn the 3rd nuts

first AA! eh take it down after a limp and 3bet and i 4bet. not bad.

and at the same time, i flop top two pair

FINALLY flop a set! and get a SS stack on a 96A flop. I had 66 and opened pre.

man. so the table i was down 70bb to the fish on I wound up leaving +$1.50. then i left the table because they just nitted it up! after the fish busted, full stacks swarmed the table.

oh wow. K9. flop K99/. noone had anything though.

AQo OTB, all fold to me. i open, SB 3bets. he seems ok, has a full stack. should we flat him IP or 4bet/fold? I know it's BvB (kind of), but the regs at this level seem....tight. IE their not going to shove light or anything like that, it's gunna be QQ+ or AK. especially a full stack.

session over.

I wanted to play more, but I have work and I started too late. But the tables did seem a bit looser than at noon or so. I played alright. I think I made two significant mistakes. The first one was the A6o hand vs the fish. As I would progress through the session, I noted that while he was bad, he would slow down if someone came along through his bets OTF and OTT with medium or low strength hands. I wish I had known that for that hand, but it was relatively early during the session. The second big mistake was the T9hh hand. This was the hand where I said "ooo, turned 3rd nuts!". In hindsight, yeah I should have bet and got it in because he had 65hh. (The board was AhJhQx, 2h, 3x) But he was eager to get money in. And with the third flush, it's really tough to want to put money in, especially at a new table. So I'm not sure how big of a mistake it was to let him bet and not take the lead myself being readless, but yeah. Overall, my game once again got better as the session progressed. But that should be the same way for everyone. More reads, more situations, more overall knowledge of what you can and can't do against certain opponents.

And on that note, another milestone! First $100 profit exclusively through poker winnings! Doesn't sound like much, but when you're averaging just 257 hands/hour and you've played less than 60 hours at 5nl and 10nl, it's quite the feat. Hey, gotta start somewhere.

tables look dead. refused to join two tables since they were all full stacked.

awful board for QQ multiway.

just two tables and down $5 already. awful boards, awful cards, HU action

lost to a shorty AI OTF QQA. I had AT, he had JT and K hits OTT

omg lost again to the shorty. he open shoved on TJJ3K board. I called w KQ. He of course had AQ. i cant win anything so far

well, if you cant hit much of anything, i guess continue strong stories. open w 75o OTB, one full stakced caller in BB. flop is K73r and he donks out. IE weak. I raise and he calls. t is 6x. he checks so i continue and he folds what's probably a 88+ hand.

now im not opening 100% of BTN hands like others because that's absurd. but, you know, open a decent amount of them, maybe like 50%

well...BB special. J3o, f 343

pfff. KK in BB, UTG limps, i iso he calls. f AA3. i bet, he min raises, i call. turn is Qx, we both quick check (and i should have raised somewhere). r is 4 and he bets.i call and he shows A4o (wtf?). i played it bad though.

finally won a decent pot! one pfr and a caller,i call in CO w AQo, one other caller. f AK5ccx. all checks to me, I bet and one 50bb stack calls. t is Kx and he shoves. I tank and decide a Kx doesnt just shove there. there are two flush draws on the board and I have the best A. so I call getting 2-1. he shows 32dd which shockingly has a bunch of equity, something like 25%.

flopped first set....guy doest follow

its been a rough session.

lol get first AA 1 hour in ad everyone folds pf.

second time ive seen a guy shove with a 32dd flush draw. second time he has lost

lost a relatively small pot BvB A7dd<J8 AIOTF Jxt6dd flop. mreh

then won a 190bb pot! QQ>99 AIOTF 343ccx.

very interesting spot though. i have AJss. One 150bb stack opens, another 150bb satack calls. im in BB. i dont feel comfortable 3betting, but I can't fold, so I call. flop is 65Addx. I check, OR bets and other player calls. I wanted to raise, but with two players its kind of ehhh. SO I call. turn is a horrible card, the Ts. this spot just sucks i feel. what do i do now?

another big win. get QQ OTB, open, 40bb stack in SB calls, 200bb stack in BB 3bets. I 4bet, SB fgolds and BB calls. IE he doesnthave AA or KK, they always shove in those spots. f is 757, he checks, i shove, he snaps withhhhhhh 66!

and a 60bb pot with JJ at perhaps the most aggressive, weird table ive ever played at!

flopped a set, could be goopd.

wrapping up session because i gotta use the bathroom and its lunch time

Today's play was very sporadic, and the complete opposite of what I'm used to. Usually I start not good, today I started awful, then I get a run of cards, but that didn't happen today. Then usually around the 1 hour mark the cards run dry and dead. Today, they ran pretty good at that mark. There was more aggression than I'm used to seeing at 10nl, but it's also an earlier session than I am used to playing. I made a few mistakes, but I'll try to correct those. One more day of play this month and we'll look at the graphs and goals and hands and such. Oh, and I found out I could keep up with the aggression today which is a nice thing to figure out.

nighttttt session omg i cant tell you how much ive wanted one of these. decided to spice it up a bit as well by playing 2 MTTs. one of the new depositer freerolls and a $2 DS.

AA to star t. ick. i wanted him to bet some more. iso;d in SB, CO calls. f 2JJ i x/c planning to x/r OTT or r. but he never bet.

busted a shorty KK>AJo AIPF

updates gnna b sparingly with 2 extra tables

lol just sucked out ona guy in $2 MTT. AQ>KK AIOTT Q386. river A

lost 1/2 BI with 3rd nuts vs second nuts on a A789 double suited board.

i just saw the most worst fold ever. guy open folds an 8 on a 4567T no flush possible board with more than 25% of his stack in the pot OTR. and he was a SS.

forgfot to say i almost doubled up in freeroll.

argh made a bad fold in cash game

with the two mtts going, im actually playing a lot looser for some reason

first break in $2 MTT im 20/301

im really havingtrrouble connecting with boards in cashtonight

high variance here.,....and BOOM! won a full stack 3handed by callingan idiots shove. he had A9s, I had AKs and I flopped a K. he shoved 3 of previous 4 hands pre

ive given up pretty much on updating. need to focus

78th/419 in freeroll

lost 40bb AIPF KK<AQs

running carddead in the $2 DS

lol finally got AKo, one guy shoves, 3 callers. fold everday

i am getting skunked in cash games right now. nothing. absolutely nothing hitting.

2nd breaj,102/147, NEED SOMETHING in the MTT

MASSICE DOUBLE UP. got AAm, min raise, 2 callers. f 299 i half poit, big stack shoves, i snap he shows JT.

oh wow. knocked out in 105th. i open, SB flats, BB SS shoves. perfect spot for him to get money. I have AKo and that's my thinking, so I shove. SB calls. SB has QQ, ok. BB has AA and I'm like "crap". so with that, i end my session.

Twas a long session. Well, long by my standards. Was happy with most of my MTT play. The AKo hand obviously is crappy, but I think I do that every single time again and again as I was going for a win and not a min-cash. The cash game was very bleh. I had a hard time getting many hands, but I did flop two sets . Which is actually still much lower than how often you are supposed to flop sets. But oh well. I noticed the tables really tightened a lot quicker than they do in the afternoon, which kind of surprised me.

I'll probably have a May wrap up and June goals on Saturday (my first day off in 13 days). Spoiler alert: It was fairly decent.

May wrap-up:

May was not as big of a roller coaster as April was. The first session of the month was absolutely atrocious, and every session after that got better and better. So let's check up on the goals.

-Play 11,000 hands this month: FAIL (7,514 hands)
Why I failed: I foresaw a fairly busy month, but it was a lot busier than I thought it would be going in.
How I can do better: Throw in a couple of small sessions after work when I get off at 9pm and I'm not tired.

-Have a winning month at 10nl: SUCCESS (7bb/100 WR, +$53.04)
Why I succeeded: This was the easiest goal coming in I felt. The players are bad and continual improvement will yield results, even after running bad.
How I can do better: Leave tables quicker after they dry up. Learning to beat the regs is good, but beating the fish is better. Also, when the tables dry up my focus tends to go out of whack.

-Improve all of the stuff from above: MIXED
3betting then: 4% 3betting now: 3.6%
Why I failed: I haven't been 3betting with hands like AJ or 3betting chronic stealers while in the blinds

Play more hands then: 18.3/11 Play more hands now: 18.9/11.7
Sort of a success. I raised more pre-flop and played overall more hands. This has to do with the iso'ing of lower hands that I normally wouldn't have such as KQ, KJ, 77, etc. It also includes increasing my range from all non-BTN positions ever so slightly.

Steal more then: 19.5% Steal more now: 21.2%
Success. It's only a 1.7% increase, but it helps to secure building blocks for later.

Bet more postflop then: AF 1.64 Bet more postflop now: AF 1.81
Somewhat of a success. I'm calling less and raising more, which is always a good thing. Like I said, I don't believe the best way to win at 5nl or 10nl is to bet bet bet simply because some of the worst players will just hang themselves. However these same players won't necessarily let you kill them.

The ending BR for May is $352.20. The ending BR for April was $261.36, for a net BR gain of +$90.84.

My goals for June are going to be listed below:

-11,000 hands. I should have a less busier month than last month and more playing time.
-Improve my play. Play a bit looser and more aggressive. If I can get to VPIP 20 and PFR of 14, then I'll consider that an improvement.
-Get the BR to $600. I'll have a bonus of close to $100 due to me in June, so this could be the easiest goal.
-Take shots at 25nl by the end of June. When the BR is something above $500 and I feel like I'm ready for 25nl, I'll take the shots. I know I can beat 10nl...it's just whether I am ready for 25nl or not.

I'll get some sessions in today. Good luck everyone!

ok then, reg sits at my table HU, loses two hands pf then leaves

looks like i got the best possible tables and out reg'd the regs

and outsqueezed the squeezer. get AKo first hand at table. id seen SB 3bet previous hand while waiting. he squeezes two limpers, i 3bet him, he calls. f 79Qr. he checks, i cbet and take it down. follow the story.

ehhhh, the limp. the most hated action in all of poker. its like, wtf does it mean? a 100bb stack open limping OTB, i pfr in SB w AQxh, he calls. f T73hhx, I cbet and he raises. wtf?

lost rathr a decent amount for no showdowns. whiffing everywhere so far

well. won a decent pot w KJo in BB. I tell ya, the players will kill themselves if you let them. i bet on 9QKddx f, 2 callers. turn Qx, i check, one guy bets small,m BTN calls, I call. river is blank of blank (6c) i check and same bettor betsbets about 1/2 pot. BTN folds. I have the second best pair hand and every draw missed. so i call and he shows J2dd.

74J....such a frequent, heartbreaking flop so far this session.

hmmm,...just flopped a straight in a raised pot w A2s. very nice

just flopped top set w KK! sadly, the only other player didnt have anything

first table change., much big stacks, 26% plrs/flop....nooooo

ehhh., im much more uncomfortablke (and for good reason) raising a UTG player's limp than I am any other limp.

remind me good sirs to shave tonight. or maams. whoever.

alrighty. won a 20bb stack. AQs>KQo AIPF. he raised pf and I was in SB. I can't outright shove bc of BB and UTG limper. but i can 3bet to a small amount and induce a shove from him while playing it sagfe against the bigger stacks

and my K9s doesnt pair up in a 3way pot and wins me the pot raised pf. wow.

small break. laundry, thaw dinner

secon table change.

hmmm. 3 handed, a 35bb stack 3bets and calls my shove with 83s. I had KK. i won. easily.

flopped second set of night! this time a limped pot, and again no action.

3rd flopped set...and won a 65bb pot. he tried to bluff on a A92hhcTc board w K6cc, then half potted the 6h river (and i did stick a raise in OTT)

just saw someone flop quaDS with an unpaired hand. nice!

4th flopped set. and got another 65bb pot from it BvB! dont want to toot my own horn but I played it as good as I could to get a bluff from him. bet small OTT and OTR to seem like the cbet was just with air. i cant shove or raise his river raise though because he doesnt call with a hand my 222 beats.

hehehe. 3bet a chronic pf raisor w 77. and cbet. stay with the story.

guy just won a $25 pot with AA...and I made him tilt the next hand . not vs me did he win, mind you.

oh great. fighting with my gf. but hopefully its constructive.

just lost 80% of a BI. got AKs in UTG, pfr, BB calls. f 6JAr. he bets, i raise, he calls. t J. he bets. he doesnt ever have a J in his range here except the rare AJ. so I shove and he calls. he has 66 ofc. I didn't stay at th table, almost the end of my session and I'd been getting absolutely nothing at tat table all day

and then a crazy monkey 3bets me (I mean he really was crazy) so I shove (he has 60bbs left) with AKo. He has TT and holds.

And on that note, a good time to end the session.

This session was a fun one. And I was changing tables a lot sooner than I used to and checking on the lobby stats of my tables to be sure I was seeing what it actually was. I couldn't hit a cold at the beginning, then got a nice, small hotstreak, then came tumbling down. Especially on one of the tables, it was raise/fold all the time. And the final AK hand (vs monkey's TT) wasn't tilt; I'd probably do that vs him with as low as TT or AQ.

Funny story yesterday. I didn't play yesterday because I worked from 8a-230p, went straight to a graduation party, then went home for 10 minutes to poop and get changed out of work clothes to go to a baseball game (Triple A), which didn't end until 930. At the baseball game, me and my brother were along the first base line about halfway between first base and the fences. In the 2nd inning, he goes and gets some food while I go get a beer. We come back and almost right after we get back, a foul ball is hit right at our seats. I couldn't catch it barehanded because I had an awful angle. My brother tries to catch it, and allegedly it hits his finger. Well, there are 4 teenagers about 16 years old in the row behind us. The two guys literally jump out of the way and the two girls aren't even paying attention. The ball pelts one of the girls right above the rib cage (good job of protecting your females, guys) and everyone gathers around to ask her if she's ok, including me.

Not my brother. He notices the ball rolling slowly away in their row and snatches it. I say that he really should give the ball to the girl that got hit. He says "nah, it hit me in the finger too. Besides, I dropped my $8 sandwich!" Nooooo. Get brownie points with females everywhere and give the girl the ball even though she's 16! (the guys they were with were complete tools, talking about stealing their father's car and smoking weed everyday despite being broke). And then he texts his major crush that he caught the ball. Aiiiiiiiii.

Anyways, I'm getting on a session after I go out to breakfast with my friend. Good luck everyone!

So I obviously didn't play yesterday because Bovada was down. But who am I kidding, I wasn't going to play yesterday. Was out with my friend till she had to go to work at noon, then came home and "worked out" until about 1:30 as to which I debated whether I wanted to play for an hour or not. I decided not to, and then only later realized that Bovada was down. Coincidence I think not!

And I have another fun story. So the guy I've been training under to replace (he assumed he was leaving around August or so with a much better paying job after graduation) is actually leaving next week. Now it wouldn't be so bad. If I actually knew the proper procedures for everything and had more training time for the complicated stuff. And apparently I've been told I'm the last person he is telling about him leaving, which is absolutely just awesome. Yes, I am petrified **** less about being thrust upon that role.

Here is a picture of the "grind" station that also acts as a "homework grind" station:

1. That proves that, yes, I actually do live in my mom's basement.

2. Notice how ****ed up the chair is. I use two pillows as a buffer to try to get it leveled out when playing or doing homework. But eventually it wears on me to the point where I can't play anymore.

I don't know where my brother is (I was supposed to go to campus wit him to help him get set up for next semester, so happy he is going back to college!) but today I have the day off and replacing that chair is my #1 priority. I've told you guys about my messed up back, and chairs are pretty much the one thing that I can completely notice a difference. It doesn't fit perfectly into many chairs, and the more messed up a chair is the more it affects me. So I'm not going to buy some $300 super baller chair because I honestly don't need one that expensive. But a nice $70 chair would do wonders for both poker and homework, especially since I'm going to have influxes of math homework where I won't just have to read a bunch of sections on the couch.

My #2 priority is getting in contact with the college. I've been putting it off way too long, not because I'm lazy but because I don't like admitting that I failed. But I have to admit it. And the failure made me stronger and helped me so much more than succeeding ever did. It may be a little late, but I got at least a degree from the failure and a much, much better work ethic to where I now know what it takes to be successful and exactly how much work I can handle.

Good luck today everyone!

The bolded is extremely dependent (you probably know that, I just thought it needed reinforced). There are some fish that will x.c with 3rd pair so b/b/b is gonna be best.

Nice month, way to bounce back from that first session. 25NL isnt gonna play that much different than 10NL, but the monetary swings are obviously increased. That was probably one of the tougher mental adjustments to make when I first went from 10NL to 25NL.

I said this before I believe, but I like your goals. More of a gradual increase than something drastic, definately all attainable. GL in June!

i see no 10nl 6max tables. makes me glad that i hopefully will leave the level soon. must be reg infested

i must say. I spent $70 on a mesh desk chair with adjustable arms. so far, omg how big of a change i can see just by sitting in it a few minutes. im comfortable now. i can lean back. i can adjust the tension on the leaning back which is awesome. very useful for going between grinding (lean back easily) and homework (lean back hard).

flop a set HU and get a decent amount from SS

ok finally got 4 tables

and leaving one already lol too reg infested and nitty

need to look at blinds better whenI open 97s in UTG. blinds were bothSS.

all tables seem a bit nitty tonight. it is a tuesday nigt but still

flopped full boat with 99....ehhhh couldnt get much :/

finally spot a fish! two, in fact, that put 100bb stacks in the middle with TP ehhh kicker. T9 and JT

niceline. he bets bigger OTR and I don't call. he opens in UTG, I flat in CO w 88. 100bb stacks. one other caller. f 236 x he bets 1/2 pot I decide to flat instead of raise. kleeps his bluffs and worse hands than m,ine in. other caller folds. t is 3, which is good. he bets 60% of pot. nothing has changed in the hand. im gunna fold out every hand i beat by raising, but my hand has showdown value. so i flat again. river is Q and he blunders by betteing like 30% of the pot (same as turn bet) snap call and he has 77

i think i missed a bet with this hand. 100bb stack opens on BTN, I 3bet in BB w ATo, he flats. f 6T5xcc. I bet 60% of pot for value, he calls. t 4x. I bet again bvecause so many draws. he calls. r is 2x. all draws missed but i just don't feel comfotable. i check which has to be bad. he insta checks too and shows KTo.

and then i win another big hand from the same guy. he tops up and opens. I flat in BTN w J9s. all fold. f 9JK. he bets, i raise, he calls. t is J. SWEET! i dont wanna bet though because it seems strong on that board. he checks i check. r is T, which is awesome. he bets, I raise, he calls and I take it down. he had KQ, which is about what i thought he'd have

people stll don't know bluffing flops....at least at 10nl.

left another table...one i started. twas MISERABLE

i guess i dont know when Q9o is good lol

just spliut a $10 pot with 2 SS. all 3 of us had a J on a 9TQK board, none of us had AJ

third set of night ...and won an awesome pot with it he seriously tried bluffing the river when every draw missed. and insta-folded to my raise.

crap....drinking coiffee while grinding (pretty good coffee) and i can feel the poop building....why does it have to be a diareatic (thatword is not spelled right)

ive had 3 sets and ironically 0 pairs QQ or higher pf. waiot, 4th set....didnt get as much as I could have. i kinda froze up when third straight card came :/. but he either has a flush draw or a straight draw on that board. 872ssx6x

dammit. lost about half a stack. rivered nut straight, guy flops bottom two pair and turns full house. i probably played it badly.

aggression fails sometimes, and there was a spot i shouldnt have doubled barreled. 5 handed, open KJdd from UTG, bad seeming reg calls OTB. f 4hKx7h. I bet he calls. the turn is the 5h. i make the mistake of betting with intention of folding to a raise. i should be check-calling down at this point. his draw got there, i very well may not have the best K, and I don't have Kh.

ughhhh. SS opens, i flat in BTN w AJ, one other caller. f QQJ, x OR bets I flat because of other player. oter player folds. t is 3 he checks i shove on him he snaps with...JJ

and yes, ive gone carddead as usual in the middle of my session

talk about action flop lol a SS shoves pf in SB and BB calls. SB has 44, BB has AJ. f: A4A.

between every youtube video so far has been previews for the new movie "The Purge". the idea of it sounds cool where all crime is legal for 12 hours, but i mean what possibly could a movie be about for it?

royal flush draw! ....damn. shoved and missed everything. 1 full stack pfr, i flat in CO w KTdd, 2 other flatters. f QJdd5x. checks to me, i bet, SS raises, 1 fold, OR calls. i need to shove at that point bc i have the most equity at that moment and i want to see both cards. it's obvious one has a set. oither one (prolly SS) might have 2 pair. both call, both turn over sets, I brick out. closed that table out because i just wasnt hitting anything on it

highest PP ive had tday, JJ!

see, idk whether to quit when i hit these long stretches of card dead or just keep going through them. seems like the money just bleeds. im not doing anything different, im just not hitting anything at all and being dealt squaddly.

First off, I must say holy wow this new chair made so much of a difference. I was comfortable during the whole session and I didn't have to keep adjusting my back and the pillows. The session was disappointing overall. I played well enough, maybe like a B+ game, but I'd really like my A game. There were some spots where I needed to tone down the aggression (that KJ hand) and spots where I should have ratcheted up the aggression. But that's why I'm playing micros, to help learn these things. For not being dealt QQ, KK, or AA the entire 2 hours, I'd say a half buy-in loss isn't that bad. But I'm pretty sure early in the session I was up nearly 2 buy-ins, and then my stack just bled because I'm not LAG enough to bet recklessly or put together a bogus story yet. It's also the 4th consecutive losing session. The major difference between this current losing streak and my last losing streak, however, was that last time I was getting into 2 and 3 BI losses whereas I've had only one loss more than 1/2 a BI and none over 1 full one. Progress with less frustration. Going to try to wake up a little earlier tomorrow and get a quick session in as I got work 230pm-10pm.

This is true, there are a lot of passive calling stations. It is opponent dependent and that's where the reads and past HH at the table really come into play, especially the ones that go to showdown to see what the loser had. I have found those players, however, much less frequent than the hyper-aggressive fish.

Thanks! I won't be getting to 25nl anytime soon but yeah. I feel like 10nl to 25nl is a much higher psychological jump than 25nl to 50nl simply because 10nl is pennies. 25nl has dollars (and it's obviously 2.5 times higher instead of the standard 2 times higher).

Good luck to you too in June Matt!

heh 3 hans in after last night and im dealt QQ

man wish i could have hit the flush card, would have gotten SS's whole stack instead of half

hmmm. i notice that the colors for the players' number at the anonymous tables are sometimes the same.

that was a hand i wasnt expecting. one poster in UTG, I raise w AJo in CO, bad full stacker calls in BB. f is 9h7d5d, misses me completely, he checks so i check. turn is Ah. he checks so i bet 2/3 of the pot. he calls and the river is a safe 5x. he checks so i bet 1/2 pot expecting worse A to call. he raises and it makes no sense unless he has a 5x. wit all draws missing and everything, i tank and call. he has 65hh.

damn. lost a "flip" OTF. 1/2 stack opens in UTG, SS calls, I flat in BTN w AJcc. one o ther caller in blinds. f 9x7c2c. check, OR bets, SS calls, I decide to shove instead of flatting multiway. fold, OR folds, SS tank calls with J7. i brick out

then lost to a 12bb stack. two limp, i x in BB w J8o. f QJ8xhh. i bet pot to play it fast, 12bb stack min raises leaving himself .24 left. other limper folds, i shove he calls. he has Q7...and the turn is the 7 lol.

just flopped nut flush! and got paid off completely by fish! same guy from J7 hand he had gotten up to a 120 bb stack. i open A7ss in UTG+1. he calls in BB. id seen him call shoves and shove with K6ss on a KA4ddd flop. F is T85sss...and he bets 4x the pot! i call. t is 3x. he bets 1/3 the pot so i shove. he calls.

and then lost a huge chunk back. 4 handed, i open A5dd. SB calls (he isnt good). f 4d2d3x. SB bets i call. i probably should raise though. t is 2x. he bets again (he has an 80bb stack) and I shove. he snaps with, 22. river is not the 3d

lol fish limp/raises pf. then checks when he has two callers on a 949 flop. then bets really small on a 4 turn. yeah, you got ****.

flop another flush but no goers

noooo dont call my BTN stl when i have K6o!

finally first set of theday...as im ending my session lol...but on a 3 flush flop....and he only had one flush card and it didnt complete for a nice pot

I said I'd get a quick session and I did. I need it mainly for the grinding out of the final parts of the deposit bonus. I don't think I'll get the final 188 points I need, but the more playing I do the more of the bonus that'll be unlocked. I played a bit too passive today. I guess that was my way to compensate for yesterday, where I was a bit too aggressive. It was a roller coaster, and I honestly made a big mistake with the A5 hand (should have raised and got the money in OTF instead). But I'll learn. Again, another losing session but once again very small.

Hi everyone!

Didn't play at all yesterday. My friends asked me about 10pm Wednesday night if I wanted to golf Thursday morning. I say alright even though I have work at night. Need I remind you, this is June. This time last year, 90 degree days were the norm. Anyways, we get to the course and it's the highest elevated in Ohio, which kinda sucks for me because I've never played a course with such elevation and hills and downhill drops. It's gray. It's raining very steadily. And we can see our breath. 45 degrees at noon in June. The conditions were so bad there was only one other group on the course. One of my shots the club was so slick it flew out of my hand on one fairway and wound up on the fairway next to ours, travelling about 50 yards. Given the choice, I would NOT play in those conditions ever again, and I shot horrible. And that's why I didn't play yesterday.

And I got some bad news for the bonus grinding. A string of 2nd shifts to fill for someone going on vacation starting tomorrow. And I'm pretty sure my deposit bonus earning ends before next Thursday. I'll find some ways around it. Good news though is that I can after all grind some today and I'm going to take advantage of it after a nap! Hopefully the games aren't as bad as last time I grinded during the evening/night hours.

Good luck everyone!

Lack of updates. I went busto. Except not really. I really was going to play another session friday night, but I wound up on Skype with the gf for a few hours instead. Busy day Saturday, work all day Sunday and now we're here.

Anyways, here is the worst played hand I've ever played. I hadn't seen BTN really play any hands, and I don't know why I don't bet OTT. Or even check/raise would be so much better. And on the river I put enough doubt into my mind (this was about the time that my gf had called me three times) to convince myself that I wasn't good with the third flush card coming. Oh boy. I'm always good and if he ever has 66 then it's simply a cooler.

I'm going to try to get a session in today or tonight if I ever have to not watch my nephew. Really frustrating but it's better he not get harmed or anything. And if not before work, I'll just have to suck it up and play after work. Good luck everyone!

not much so far, just loading up tables.

getting AA is always good

and playing HU vs a reg kinda suckas lol

mayber i could have gotten a fold from that hand, but the river didnt change anything,. pls he is talkative in chatbox which means hes probably a station having fun. so i saved myself a bet

first time ive seen the lolimadonkmincheckraise in a while

good pf fold on my part. 50bb stack 3bets really small, but other player also has a shorter stack. not really good to setmine there

mental nmote: 3 likes to 3bet on morsay

damn everyone is 3bet happy today

these tables are bad but im gunna be hardpressed to find better tables

BOOM 167bb pot won on only table i didnt change, KK>QQ AI on JJ9 flop.

3 10nl tables, 1 5nl table. lol yeah, theyre that bad

instantly regretted that cbet size in a 3bet pot HU

well that sucks. BTN opens 3handed, I 3bet w AA in BB. bet on 69Tssx flop, he flats. 2d turn, I bet he shoves. i dont think he has 66 and TT he should 4bt i think. so i call and he shows JT. river is a T. but i guess the world evensout. and ironically, 15 minutes after that hand and ive won more on that table than i lost in that one hand.

while all this has happened, apparently ive been paid my bonus? $44.98 so far and in weird increments to. ill figure it out later.

and another 3bet happy player. ugh.

wow i just saw one of the sicker suckouts. jesus whale opens 32hx in UTG, 2 callers then one min raiser pf. f A4Jhhh. whale bets, other player shoves, whale calls. other player has KhJx. turn is a 5x and river is not a heart

first flopped set...get decent pot

gd ****ing dammit i am so mother****ing tired of these mother****ing god damned 3bettors. past 5 openjs ive been 3bet by two players at the same table.

firsky with 8s i meant frisky. no backspace!

just lost a small pot HU AIPF. AQo<A9s

lol its funny, i havent won ANYTHING at the one 5nl tabler

Ok so this session was a bit confusing and short on content because I spent a lot of it trying to figure out what my bonus was and where it was coming from. And the major hands really hit mostly at once, back to back to back to back, which seems to happen often. I felt more prepared this morning than I have playing other sessions in the past. Which is odd, because I like to go out and shot some basketball in the morning to help wake my muscles and brain up and I couldn't today due to rain. Complaining about being 3bet to death doesn't do anything, but I had hands where I'd really have to 4bet/fold. I didn't necessarily feel like doing that with any hand except the AJcc hand. And that failed as I cbet the flop and he called and I couldn't bring myself to fire another barrel. I have to learn soon to start 4betting more with bluffy hands and flatting more than I currently do (although I hate flatting in a 3bet pot). The total bonus was $65, which is about what I thought I'd get. Disappointed that I couldn't earn more, but like I said I never really expected to be as busy as I have become lately. And we are that much closer to the $500 mark.

(The $65 will not be included in daily profits as it doesn't have anything to do with the actual playing)

Too much life updates, not enough poker updates imo. Not my fault I've got 6 2nd shifts this week. Anyways, I'm aiming to get a session in now. Weather people are going bat crazy around here about us getting a "derecho" later this evening and overnight. A derecho is a super strong storm system with sustained winds of over 60mph, some gusting up to 100mph. It also includes extreme heat, which we will have today and intense thunderstorms. Since my house tends to be susceptible to random power outages, and my only day to truly grind of course is tomorrow, I'll try to play as much as I can before work and pretty much hope my house doesn't lose power and the storm dissipates before reaching Columbus (strong storms actually do tend to do that).

Good luck everyone!

i want the 25nl games they look sooooo much better

slow start.

just won a SS stack. he shoved w JQ on a 89JQK board after I'd shown much strength. I had JT

crap spot. get 99 in CO, open. BTN calls, unknown SS in BB calls. f 82Tssx. check...i decide to check since it's multiway and call a street if someone bets. checked down. turn is 5x. SS bets, I call, other calls. river is 2x and SS bets again. part of me wants to call and thinks I have SD value. but with the other left I just fold. thoughts?

lol @ people clicking "fold to any bet" on paired flops

get nut flush in limped pot, nothing

eh got beat out of a 3bet pot. get JJ in BTN, 3bet someone who looks like an isoer, looked kinda looser. he flats in CO. f QT6, he checks, I bet, he shoves. fold easily.

first flopped set! but nothing :/

this has been the most boring, crap session I've ever played here on Bovada.

meh just lost a flip AIPF. random SS shoves pre, I call w AKss, he shows 44 and it holds.

Overall, I was awake and alert and everything. The tables at 10nl are just awful this early in the day. And I can understand why. It's where the regs gravitate. It's the middle of the micro-fest. 25nl is enough for fish to feel somewhat enthralled, while 5nl collects the worst players since it's the bottom of the barrel. I did open my pre-flop range a little bit so that was a nice thing to do. A loss is a loss, but I didn't feel like I did anything particularly awful.

fiurst time ive ever seen this. there are more free 6max 10nl tables than 6max 25nl tables. what!

ok well. lost a meh pot. first ahnd at the table so i assumed he was a eh player.

wow. get JJ on BTN, open, get 3bet by a 100bb stack. BB who is not good a 50bb stack flats. good spot to 4bet/fold. i do just that. I 4bet and the SB shoves....then BB flats that! i dont think im ever good so i stick to the plan. I fold. BB shows AJhh (lol) and SB shows AKdd. idk ifthats good or bad, but something i definitely would not do with AK.

just saw 65 win a pot at showdown non BvB with J high. the board was 2J739. the other guy had 54

i have god seat on a 260 bb fish. gimme something good

flopped first set,got a good pot from it

crappy board to cbet: QTxx on a 4hQxKh flop multiway

winning pots with KQ is always good.

flopped quads. got some money.

i dont like how i played that though. I had played the last three hands, opening two of them. I didnt open TT. loose fish raises my limp (someone else had limped before) so i call. f T7T.

the fish who is on my right...opens to like 5 or 6 times eveyr time he plays a hand

lol some crap there. on bovada, if a player times out on a hand while in it, it wont show.whoch im ok with. i was paying attention and the player timed out. i bet immediately and it gave him his full 30 second bank! uirgh

i hate adjusting my game bc the BB will call every one of my steals

heh opening in UTG w 43s...rare that i go that low...but you do have to diversify

one of the perks of playing 65o in multiway limped pots is having nut hands lol

what do you guys think about this hnd? one limper in UTG, UTG+1 (92bb stack) raises to .3. I have AKo in CO and 3bet to $1. all fold to UTG+1 who calls. f 6cJc4x he checks I bet $1.2 into $2.1 and he tank calls. turn is Qx. if there is a bad card thats it. i dont think i can barrel again because his range is smacked in the penis. so i check. river is 9x and he checks again. should i barrel? I pretty much rep atthat point nothing or like AJ.

crap big fish left

its been a fairly dry spell so far. i may be down like $3 but eh.

lol obvious m drawing bluff is obvious.

just won 170bb pot. in a limped pot. multiway. with 75o. while i was in the BB. he limped w Q4dd. not in SB either. I turned nuts, he had a pair and FD, he rivered two pair but i still held nut straight.

there i go again not noticing the stack on the player in BB when opening,

this SS to my direct left...liuterally never folds. kinda frustrating.

taking bathroom breaks are amazing!

almost two hours into the session and my first table change

get AA and KK simultaneously, just get blinds in both lol

mass table change lol

why is it this cold down here in June?

first somewhat decent pot in a while lol. get AK in SB 5 handed, UTG opens and fish calls, I 3bet. both call, i cbet flop and take i down

and another decent piot. UTG makes it .22 and im in BB. 3 callers and im getting 8 to 1 w K3dd. so i snap call and the flop i s lol Kc3c4d. checks to BTN who bets, SB min raises I 3bet and both fold.

and next hand I get SS stack. AQ>TT AIPF.

3rd set (techncalyy second but quads are definitely being counted) and eh pot

just lost a big pot. it was a sticky situation to begin with. one limper, full stack iso's him in BTN. I have AQo in BB. why its sticky is because BTN seems competent. so again, 3bet/fold because I don't like playing competent players OOP. he flats and flop is 4hAxKh. That's really good for me. his range is something like 99+, AJ+. I bet and he calls. i dont remember the turn but it wasd very irrelevant. I think 8x. i tank. he doesnt have 44. AA almost never. KK is a possibility but also rare. and this is where i think i make my mistake. I shove because I feel I hve the best hand. but what could he possibily have that calls the flop bet and calls a 3bet preflop? and before shoving i dont make a clear range. he tank calls with KK. im pretty sure i misplayed it but like i said, it felt like such a sticky spot that i was mentally lost and confused.

and then two hands later, i get quads with an unpaired hand and get paid off 100% by a 50bb stack

nothing really happening since those hands. not really looking for other tables bc im about to end it here soon

wow i just saved my session with an epic handreading.

and i lost to a SS. I 3bet him from SB (hes in BTN) and flop OESD and overs on JJT flop. get it in, he has TT. and he was the table fish. of course. i was just dead on that table all night, ran bad there (the whole session)

I'm going to start this off by saying this: HOW THE **** DID I HAVE A WINNING SESSION?!?! I played decent. Not my A game, but not a C game either. I probably should have bet more preflop, but I did push the envelope more than I usually did post-flop. I also played a long session, longer than usual for me. Which is good, I needed the hours on the felt. I seriously thought I started the session at 437 and not 427. All in all, I was alert through the whole thing. And the new chair helped out a bunch. I wasn't aching or stretching my back or anything during or after the session. I'm going to definitely post the AQo hand because my mind is still spinning and not really understanding what happened on that hand.

I haven't posted in 3 days. I haven't played in 3 days. It's been all business for me, unfortunately. New responsibilities come with new demands. But it looks good on resumes.

Thankfully, this week looks a lot lot better for play than last week did. I can probably put in sessions 6 days this week quite comfortably. Average 1.5 to 2 hours/session, and, you know, I'm right back on pace. Right now, I am running about 2 BIs below EV for the month. Kind of sucks, but you know there is luck in everything. So let's get it! Good luck everyone

I'm 23. I still get pimples. barely. but when they do show up omg. massive and painful lol

lol guy comes to my starting table, plays one hand. in which i fold preflop without raises or anything. then leaves. lol

win nice pot w QQ

lol thats just stupid luck. played first two of three hands at a table. two limpers, im in CO w AKo and two limpers. i raise and get one 45bb to call. f 26K rainbow. perfect,. he checks and i check because that flop never hits him really hard. turn is 3 and hew pots. i shove and he calls. he has 45.

top two in raised pot...****. nvm. logic thinking saves the day. 75bb raises pf in UTG. he's looser, not particularly good. I get KQs in CO and flat. two others flat. flop is KsQs6x. check, OR bets, I raise bc it's wet. all fold to him who calls. i plan to shove most turns. turn is Ts. he insta shoves. i tank. he never has TT. 66 is possible but rare. id think he'd just shove the flop. i start going over the spade combos but honestly i dont think he has AXss because he shoves that OTF too. i call and expect an AsQx or AK or even two pairs often. he has A8...of diamonds. river is not a J and I win the 160bb pot.

first set. nothin.

mad at myself for not cbetting BvB w KJ on a 9Q6 flop. tonssss of equity.

love the AKX flop when you hold JJ lol

small break in 10 minutes. potty and unthaw dinner. ive been eating healthier than i used to for the past like year and a half. i have the same dinner about 4 to 5 times a week. Rice, some sort of vegetable, and i put some chicken skinless and fry it. not in oil or grease or anything, just a naked fry in a skillet.

top set reconnect and shovveee pleassseeeee. dammit.

gone for 10 minutes, made me sit up from two of the tables. seriously?

wow flopped nut flush. couldnt get paid though.

client seems laggy tonight. playable, but a bit laggy. probably bc its sunday.

flopped low set on 3 diamond board. guy flopped the flush. lost minimum possible. well, not exactly possible but lost a relatvely small amount.

whydo people min raise pf when there are multiple limpers? im still gunna call with my 76o OTB when the previous 3 limpers called as well

aggression ftw

yay 3betting! damn lol i dont think ive gotten JJ and not had an overcard on the flop this session.

first substaintial pot. QQ>JJ AIPF vs 15bb stack

that was fun. no idea why a 35bb stack is calling a 3bet w A4dd preflop but you know. QQ<A4dd AIOTF 4xKdJd.

QQ, K on flop, kinda the way the nights gone.

BOOM! once again, why you dont limp with AA preflop. guy limps w 80bb in UTG+1, I flat in SB w K7ss. f K75. I bet, fold, UTG calls. turn is 7. I bet, he calls. river is 8. I bet, he raises, I shove, he snaps with AA. Nowm, if he has KK that justsucks but you know. always nice to win a 160bb pot.

good fold, great read by me. one SS poster in UTG, SS in UTG+1 min raisesB , I flat in BTN w AJo, SB (full stacked) calls along with BB, poster. f Jh5h8x. SB donks out for .2. fold, call, call, I decide to raise to get one of the SS stacks. Sb calls then poster shoves. hand reading by me: SB has T9, poster has two pair . ifold, SB shows 67 (poff by just a bit) and poster shows 85.

oooo snap flopped nuts and get paid

and as im wrapping up my session,i win the biggest pot of my life on Bovada. UTG min raises, 180bb stack raises to .3 (i kid you not), one caller, I call in BB w KJo, UTG calls. f 2hThQx. I check, UTG bets, 180bb stack min raises, fold, I call, UTG calls. turn is such a pretty Ad. I bet, UTG folds, 180bb stack raises, I reraise, he snap shoves and I call. He shows AQo, and the river is a 6. for the $34 pot at 10nl.

I played well. The big winning pot isn't clouding my judgement either. I felt throughout the session like I was playing very well. I was well rested and very focused. I didn't have any of those "oh crap, I shouldn't have done that" moments. I'm sure I had some small, minor mistakes but no big ones. And that's what I'm trying to get at, because my A game is probably better than almost every player at 10nl Bovada. But I still have things to work on. And without that big pot, I still would have had a winning session. I'm hoping to get a small session in tomorrow.
