Hello and welcome to my PG&C thread. My name is Gareth and this is my first thread/post on 2+2 so still getting used on how to post certain things (hands/graphs etc) and looking around the forums. As I’m new I thought id give a brief poker history of myself before setting out goals for myself.

About Me
As said above my name is Gareth and I’m 25 years old and have been playing poker on and off for about 5 years. The reason I’ve never stuck at poker is my BR management has been non-existent and I would withdraw winnings or take shots at stakes I couldn’t afford. Over my 5 years I’ve final tabled a few tournaments and won a satellite into the Sunday Million on PS a few months back. I would say I enjoy tournaments a lot more than cash but I want to use cash game to improve as a player but also provide a side income (and more) from now on. I plan on starting at the very bottom on PS (2nl) as I like the fairy tale idea of looking back and saying I’ve beaten every stake below me. Lastly I currently multi table 8 tables (6 ring) and consider myself an aggressive player somewhere between tight and loose.

Bankroll Management
BR Management has never been something I have taken seriously as a recreational player but I would like to change that to be able to be self-sufficient at poker. My plan is to have 50 buy-ins for every level I’m playing not necessarily because I’m a BR nit but because I want to be able to survive downswings of taking shots at higher limits without having to move down. The plan for taking shots is below: ($100 starting Bankroll)
1c-2c = <$249 - 2 table 2c-5c at $200
2c-5c = $250 – $499 - 2 table 5c – 10c at $450
5c-10c = $500 – $799 - 2 table 10c-25c at $700
8c-16c = $800 - $1249 - 2 table 10c-25c at $1200
10c-25c = $1250 - $3500 - Build bankroll to $3500 (take $1000 out)
$2500 move up to low stakes.

Goals/Challenges
To begin with I plan on keeping my goals to the micro limits until I move up and as this is more of a blog/diary for me i wont be limiting myself to set time frame.
Move up the micro limits (2nl [ ],5nl [ ],10nl [ ],16nl [ ] and 25nl [ ])
Play around 2-4 hours a day (5/6 days a week)
Use forums/thread to analyse hands and improve.

Updating Thread
I plan on updating this thread at the end of every days session but from time to time it maybe every other day if I don’t have the time to update. Hopefully I'll figure out how to post hands and graphs before my first update.

Once this thread is posted I'll be playing a couple of hours of poker and will update in the morning how it went.

Finished my first session last night and it couldn't have gone any better. Played for just over 2 hours. Defiantly started this PG&C on a heater managed to get my money/oppo's money in 5 times and won everyone. Despite playing aggressive I managed to get away from hands before the pot became too big which I'm really happy about usually I would stick with a draw and then shout at myself when it didn't come off haha.
I think the $15 is the most I can possible expect for a single 2 hour session and I certainly wont be expecting these type of sessions on a daily basis I'd be happy with around $5 sessions.

There's only one hand that I think I could have probably called but at these stakes raises usually indicate strength. It be nice to hear someone else's opinion on the hand. Not sure how to get the replayer part of the hand up if anyone knows how or a thread explaining it could you point me in the right direction, I did do a quick search but the thread didnt make too much sense.

Not sure how I felt about this hand. At these stakes its hard to put people on specific hands as they chase any draw as much as they call bottom pair. My thinking was he hit the flush as I think an over pair bets the turn witht he double flush draw. I was going to check raise the turn but the villain checked behind.

Second hand was my biggest pot of the night. As I was on the button I felt justified in calling the flop with top pair once the 3 of clubs comes on the turn giving me the nut flush draw and open ended straight I felt comfortable calling the oversized bet on the turn especially when the CO doesn't jam I put him on just an Ace as I think any real strong hand will 2pair+ wants to get the money in straight away.

That's it for today going to play a couple of hours today then enjoy the rest of the day.

Another solid day of poker played 4 sessions of an hour or so each manage to make another $15 but found myself in a few all in situations which I got lucky on some as you can see by the EV line. I lost 3 all ins only one of which I was good. I'll post those hands below and see what anyone else thinks of them. Not sure if I'll play any poker tonight as I have work and won't be until later tonight.

Not much can be said about this hand the villain was loose passive they got into an argument with me another player at the table after I won a previous pot with a straight and he had a busted nut flush draw so I knew he was going to play aggressive in all future pots between us. I thought he probable had an Ace or two over cards but he hit his out on the turn. I think i played this hand fine.

This hand is a little more tricky the villain was playing a little over 40% of hands so I 3bet with A5s in the SB. I hit my Ace on the flop so continue with a bet in which the button calls. I chose to check the turn as I'm playing the board once my pair of aces is taken into account but with the ridiculous bet size I put him on either a 10 or like me has a small Ace. When the king comes I make a final play for the pot and he raises which I eventually call. I should have probably folded to the raise but the Turn bet stuck in my mind I never expected to win this pot I was calling to split. the other alternative was to go for a $1.10/20 bet on the river and put him the pressure on him with a 9 kicker

This hand was against another Loose Aggressive player. I hit my Ace on the flop with a Q kicker and i assumed on the turn he had a worse Ace or had turned the flush draw, the allure of the all in throw me and with a Q kicker i was confident I beat a good portion of his range for shoving
