Inspiring stuff, gl!

Edit: Got 3 questions for you:

1. How do you study. How do you go about reviewing hands and doing off table work?
2. Is there some content you would recommend to an NL2 grinder looking to improve quickly?
3. What helped you the most in moving up to NL10/NL16?
0. I'm not crushing it, not even 100% sure I'm a winner in these games yet. But I'll answer your questions anyway

1. I just sit there and think about the hands I think about my range, villain's range, balance, value, etc. I think thinking about MDF is a useful heuristic in a lot of spots.

2. I don't really like any poker content personally other than PGCs (I read all of them including urs) so I can't help u there

3. The fact that I had won money and don't afraid of anything

=====

As my screenshot from before shows, I had another terrible day yesterday. Looking over my biggest pots I did spew a bit. But at least it's a day with lots of interesting hands. I'll post some.

---

Big misplay. I think def a fold on the river and probably a fold on the turn. Holding the ace of clubs is bad, holding the ace of hearts as well is even badder:

PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.05/$0.10 - 6 players

UTG: $14.90 (149 bb)
MP: $34.78 (348 bb)
CO (Hero): $13.29 (133 bb)
BU: $11.27 (113 bb)
SB: $12.47 (125 bb)
BB: $7.82 (78 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.15) Hero is CO with A A
UTG raises to $0.25, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets to $0.95, 3 players fold, UTG calls $0.70

Flop: ($2.05) 4 8 2 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.65, UTG raises to $1.80, Hero calls $1.15

Turn: ($5.65) 2 (2 players)
UTG bets $3.20, Hero calls $3.20

River: ($12.05) J (2 players)
UTG bets $8.95 (all-in), Hero calls $7.34 (all-in)

Total pot: $26.73 (Rake: $1.20)

Showdown:
UTG shows 8 8 (a full house, Eights full of Twos)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 20%, Flop: 86%, Turn: 95%, River: 100%)

CO (Hero) shows A A (two pair, Aces and Twos)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 80%, Flop: 14%, Turn: 5%, River: 0%)

UTG wins $25.53

UTG (Hero) mucks Q A (three of a kind, Aces)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 46%, Flop: 7%, Turn: 0%, River: 0%)

BB wins $20.45

Surely he has eights full at best... right guys? I mean, maybe he has queens, but I doubt it...

PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.05/$0.10 - 6 players

UTG: $13.43 (134 bb)
MP (Hero): $36.04 (360 bb)

Flop: ($1.95) 8 6 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($1.95) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($1.95) Q (2 players)
Hero bets $3.72, BTN raises to $7.44, Hero raises to $35.14 (all-in), BTN calls $2.05 (all-in)

Total pot: $20.93 (Rake: $0.94)

Showdown:
MP (Hero) shows J J (a full house, Jacks full of Sixes)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 81%, Flop: <1%, Turn: 2%, River: 0%)

BU shows 6 6 (four of a kind, Sixes)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 19%, Flop: >99%, Turn: 98%, River: 100%)

BU wins $19.99

I'll probably post more hands later, heading back to the tables now. GL everyone.

Hero raises to $0.32, 1 fold, CO calls $0.32, 2 players fold, BB calls $0.22

AQ hand river bet is extremely thin.

If we bet, I go smaller or bigger. How can you bet/call.

Given the stakes, bet/fold is fine but it is very thin unless you have info on 3bs to assume otherwise like AJs/AJo or wider

>how can u bet/call

because next time this line plays out he'll have 7s6s or something

but you're right, it wasn't a GTO play and maybe next time I'll find the check back or the bet fold

Nothing happened other than me sitting down and thinking about how I wanted to use my time. Admittedly, if I was crushing I probably would have decided to keep playing, or if the future of online poker looked brighter.

I think I'm probably beating 10NL Zoom at this point, though not by much.

I'm keeping my bankroll on Stars for now, so I'll probably play a bit here and there.

I have a lot of respect for people who put the effort into poker but for me I think there are just better ways of using my time.

Good luck James, welcome back and congrats on that previous bink.
That is a rare sight (not your win but less than a gazillion entries in a PokerStars tournament

How do you plan to do that profit? Playing micro zoom or tourneys or both?

Sadly we don't seem to have a great timezone for PokerStars tournaments in New Zealand. I always seem to miss the best ones. For example, I don't think I've ever played the Sunday Million.

$25 and $50 fast-fold on Party, occasional tournaments (but I'm not good enough at tournaments to grind them - I can only really play one at a time without my brain getting overloaded).

I won't play on PokerStars because they hurt me pretty bad in currency conversion fees when I withdrew. I don't like them anymore. Hopefully Party doesn't do the same.

I've also been playing a bit of live poker. Hopefully I'll be able to post some ebin chip stacks. Live plays pretty big so that's where I'm hoping to get most of my profit from

I've been playing 10nl Zoom recently as well, started at 2nl in October and worked up to here so far. Guessing there is a good chance we've played together! I know your SN is hidden but if you want to share let me know and I'll say hi on the tables.

Top-secret sorry!

Hand I just played on Party:

Hero opens in the HJ, CO calls, the remaining players fold

Flop JT6

check check

Turn: J

check check

River: T

Hero checks, villian bets pot

Hero calls

Villian shows 33

Hero shows 77 (two-pair, jacks and tens) and collects the pot
