Hi guys,

Before I talk about the goals I’ve decided to set for myself let me give you a brief background of my relationship with poker.

My name is Tony and I live in Greece. I’ve been playing poker games since I was a kid with my parents and brother and at around 16-17 began playing some cash games recreationally (.5/1). At 18 I tried my luck at the online tables with what became multiple deposits on the 50-100 euros range throughout the years. During that time my game was heavily influenced by the Isildur/Martonas era, which was also the reason why I became a member in 2p2 and lurked NVG at the pinnacle era for online poker. By “influenced” I mean that I simply was a super loose aggro YOLO viktor-wannabe shot-taking mofo thinking I was playing in the nosebleeds for rollz. (It kinda hurts to admit that but it’s true).

My relationship with poker continued on and off with the casual cash game here and there and the occasional “shot” at the online arena whenever I felt like impersonating the mighty ninja.

However, a couple years ago my view on poker changed when I discovered Game Theory and eventually its applications to poker. I was so fascinated by the GTO approach to beating the games that I quickly amassed a good deal of info and knowledge on the subject, albeit without putting it to work by playing poker but more like a spectator/fan. The reason why I did not actually try to apply what I had learned by reading the forum, papers and books on the subject, was mainly that I was too busy at work while also going through some personal issues which severely hindered my free time and mostly my willpower/work ethic.

Now, I find myself in the place where while I still have a demanding dayjob and rather limited free time, I think that it can be a marginally +EV move to give a sincere shot to online poker while I’m still relatively young (26), and despite the fact that the games are much tougher than when I first started d***ing around online.

So, now to the challenge. I’ve been playing 1.4 + 0.1$ HUSNGs and some bonus Spin & Gos with a deposit of 50$ for the past few days at PS in order to get familiarized with the interface and get going again. My bankroll currently sits at 73$. I have also downloaded the trial version of PT for NL. I still have abt. 3 weeks before the trial ends.

My goal at this point is to transform myself from a recreational player to a dedicated machine-like student of the game. I don’t care about results, graphs, stats or anything of this nature; I only want to develop the best poker mindset by setting the right principles, study my game, read the forums, post hands at 2p2 for review & discussion and put in a as much volume as possible.

I will be playing strictly HUSNGs with a BR minimum of 50BIs. Since PS lowest HUSNG is the 1.5$ I will be starting from there even though my BR is marginally lower atm.

With the above in mind I set the following goals until the end of November. At that point I’ll re-evaluate and set a result-oriented goal if I consider myself ready:

Put in as much volume as possible on a daily basis. After every three days of play I will dedicate the fourth for hand history studying.
Post at 2p2 one hand per day for review & duscussion
Daily post of progress on this thread. (On the day of hand history studying I will be posting my conclusions and aspects I have identified as needing work)

That’s it guys, thanks for reading this far. Feel free to propose any ideas for goals/strategy/priorities etc.

I will be back tomorrow.
