well that was a ****ty start to the month lol It started off well then absolutely went into the hole...Cant be bothered posting hands because i made a couple bad calls, however i was just getting raised etc off like every hand when i had draws, TP etc. I was card dead and the biggest pot i won was like 70bb

Now to chill and grind again tomorrow with a clear head.

hey guys hope you are all running well. So in some news regarding my poker, i decided to leave the CFP program. I though i would document my thoughts on the program in dot point.

* It doesnt offer personal training
* All training is group skype sessions in euro time zones which didnt suit me being in australia
* The standard lines are bad IMO. Its super unbalanced and really killed me when i moved up to 50nl because it promotes betting 2nd & 3rd pair, no elaboration on board texture etc
* It give the absolute newb great starting ranges and help with how to play hands
* Lots of learning material and videos to watch if you have the time to do all that combind with grinding

All in all, I dint make any profit from the program. After joining i went on a huge DS and lost over $1k euro. I have ground that all back pretty much and really feel giving away half of my future profit was crazy when all im getting thats helping me are a few videos of group skype sessions. I have learnt more from RIO videos IMO.

Im not bagging the system at all, its just not for me and suitable for me at this point in time. It may be worth it if i was not employed and could dedicate the required time to the program.

SO anyway, im free, no more BR reporting etc. Just grind and move up. Im really happy with how im playing. I feel like each session im playing pretty well. I few mistakes etc but overall really solid. I have ground back the 12 BI swing and now showing a profit for the month.

Here are some results and hands:

Good decision on BPC IMO. I'm not exactly the most impartial person, but I don't see any evidence that it actually works (i.e. produces a higher percentage of successes than the underlying population).

yeah i agree. There are hundreds of students so the coaching is just skype sessions. I personally feel like there should be more 1 on 1 coaching for giving up 50% of your profit. The thing is, everybody is different, so i may have big leaks that need identifying by mo0re experienced players. Im happy im on my own now. Things are going well. Nearly ready for 50nl with a BR boost.

Clarification: Max essentially did not even participate in the program at all.

@maxde: If anything i say below is factually incorrect, pls prove me wrong. You can also allow me to post email convos we had.

Look, you are entitled to your opinion and feelings, but the facts are different.

1) He did not do more than the preflop chapter, he does not even know what the crusher program teaches for NL25 and higher.

2) He bought NOBS course in September and he made 9bb/100 on NL25 over 50k hands (likely running good to be honest). His own words (i have it in written).

However, the NOBS is only the "mindset basis" for the crusher. Lines get adjusted and we learn exceptions even for Micro-stakes players.

=> He NEVER even saw the advanced material as he has not progressed at all in our step-by-step chapters. He has not submitted even one video for review (which is 1-1 coaching btw!!!), nor hand histories for coaching (maybe 2-3 small questions once?!...but certainly not regularly participating)

3) He was completely delusional and busted half his roll at the start despite ALL advice to not do it (we have strict rules to start with the limit you have beaten over 100k hands).

He did not listen from the start. And believe me, it was no downswing. Based on the database report uploaded and other stuff i've seen he had no business at NL50 and i told him.

I told him so, even gave him access to the micro course so he can access our library there and learn about adaption (from the NOBS system!). He kept access in the intermediate as well.

I gave him also as the chance to have live QnA with me an additional 3 times a week (so yeah, Aussie hours etc, but you got 4 times a week + video review + material in the course)

He did NOT have questions (again besides maybe 2-3 at first...).

Again, he does and did whatever he wants. That's ok, but don't blame anything on anybody else but yourself.

4) Everybody knows you can get more or less unlimited coaching, but you have to prepare and i will not give 1-1 coaching to somebody who does not have any specific question in the first place

5) He was very impressed by the response time of myself and the BPC team (i have this in written as well)

/End

If anything i have said is wrong, pls tell me and be detailed about it. Otherwise i assume we've both given our POV's and can move on.

I'm not interested in making you look bad or anything, but if you are "bagging" a program you have not even really participated in, then i have to point out those details.

Best wishes,
Gordon

P.s.:
The hard truth is, yes, it's 2015 and maybe in 2010 you can throw out a hand to the coach, get a few words on simple logic and then it's all good. This seems to me what some people look for.

Today, more systematic work and effort is expected. Max did not show any signs of willingness to work, not ONE hand history with specific analysis + question, not ONE video submitted for review.

really? You feel the need to write this highly defensive and somewhat derogatory post in my blog? I have only described my thoughts on the program and never slandered the course. I even wrote I may like to restart it, it's just not suitable for me right now. Yes there are aspects I didn't agree with, we are all entitled to opinions.

It kind of feels like after reading the cfp page on this site you are constantly defending the program, there is no need. It's a solid course, just no for me right now.

I would suggest editing your post because it's really quite embarrassing to be quite honest.

I'm forced to correct things (or defend), and tell the "other (true) side" of the story.

You're free to write your opinion about things, but don't expect to not be called out on it when what you say is factually wrong (about coaching, the course, the lines) and negative.

Maybe that was not your intention, but it is what it is.

The comments meant not harm, I think you are just being sensatve to an opinion you don't like. Let's leave it at that.
