haha, if that was the case then everyone would be crushing stars and it wouldn't be regarded as the hardest poker site in the world to beat! I think you may be being slightly results oriented

        ---

Yesterday was meh. Not been feeling great the past few days, keep getting headaches and just not 100%. Definitely effecting my poker. I did go to a workshop as part of my placement yesterday and it was on 'Money'. So the things that come up with clients paying for therapy and the obstacles that present themselves. It was actually a pretty tough subject to talk about especially being a poker player. Definitely feel super awkward telling people in the psychology world what i do for a living even though it's one of the more open minded professions.

imo the correct play is to always dress respectably and give the answer "professional gambler" as if it's the most normal thing in the world

Keep up the good work, I moderately enjoyed that weird video

saying professional gambler is way worse than pokerplayer.
as people have a concept of pokerplayers, especially in UK, whereas gambler sounds like someone that does sportsbetting, horses and if you are dressed up, they tag you as someone that hussles people

This. Professional gambler is pretty much universally interpreted as "degen". If you say poker than at least some people get the nuance.

Yeah, i mean i'm very used to the normal scrutiny about being a poker player/gambler, but for some reason in that exact setting it felt actually uncomfortable. Something i'll be giving plenty of thought over the coming days im sure.

              ---

Today was really decent. The start of the session was so messed up. I won a stack at 600 KK v QQ within the first 5 hands, then by 500 hands i hadn't won a single pot and was down 600. I felt i played absolute A+ game today (bar a few pots towards the end) which was my goal for the session.

Personally I haven't told anyone how much Poker I play except my wee bro as he has been up at mine some wk ends when Ive been on the grind. I feel it would be -EV to tell most people for the obvious reasons.

You could tell people you make online training videos for software learning and database analysis and not be lying. Then when you know someone better you can tell them more if you like.

Im often tempted to take a poker book into work to read on lunch. But I dont want to raise suspicion as I also like to do some poker calculations in excel at work whilst having my boss believe Im working on getting that invoice ready. Would be nice to give my eyes a rest from a screen but end up just doing some reading on the Kindle app at lunch so my boss believes I will be sticking around for the breadcrumbs they pay me for the next 10 years.

And I doubt the boss would be impressed to know that on a Friday I am going home to grind for 12 hours until 7am and repeat Sat Sun. So I always give him a nice story of what my wk end will consist of, sometimes you need to tell people what they want to hear.

Have a read for QTo? Obviously it's best bluffing hand but you are bluffing vs an over bet from a stronger range with 16 combos of bluffs and 4 value unless you're very efficient at book keeping and splitting.

You have more than 4 combos given in bb...you don't have to bluff all combos of QTo...just the ones without hearts
