a large part of that winrate being so high is the heat i found in the first 150k hands of 500z i think (won at 15bb or something truly insane).

I hadn't thought about it, I doubt top 10, prob like top 20. So many guys who play there have played for way longer than me but who knows what their wr's are.

Ty for following bro

I think i properly started playing 500z (not just shotting occasionally) in about march 2017, so 3-4 years. And rake paid is something like 150-160k. Ridiculous amount. Imagine if i was getting that 40% rb from back in the day!

it's posts like this that do make me wonder if stopping posting is actually a good idea, but for now I'm going to continue to stick with it and see if new purpose/motivation emerges to post (perhaps not in this capacity, but maybe another).

haha i totally forgot momess used to make videos for RIO, such a blast from the past!

Seems there really are so many old timers knocking about still.

What do you think it is a top reg winrate? Are u among them?

Ty.
Thanks! This is a difficult thing to answer because it's pretty subjective. i'll give it a go though.

Jarretman is a theory boss and i'd put him at #1. Then you got guys like Chipsncrisps, whilst only really just having moved up to 500 is another guy that plays really well. Nietmar is another very tough opponent. Then there are a host of players who are tough but honestly i wouldn't be surprised if their wr's were lower than one might anticipate - players like davyjones and xeliqq. In terms of the actual goats, the majority of them have moved over to party cus of the rb - ishter being the lead example (he would still be #1 at 500z).

The issue with ranking players is that i imagine most of the regs wouldn't put me up with the better players, however, because we don't have the wr's of every single reg, it's all just guess work.

Top 500z wr in 2020 with no selection whatsoever is probably in the region of 5-6bb. But because samples are too small it's impossible to say for sure.

I've read a lot here and I don't remember seeing you being salty even once, it shows how good your mindset is and tbh it shows you're truly a happy person that doesn't feel the need to prove anything to anyone.

I can recall of a lot of regs that played with you that said bad things about your game, at the time I believed them (even after you've posted a 5bb graph over a large sample fwiw). But once I stepped back to think a little, maybe the metrics they were using to judge your game were wrong, maybe they thought less of you because of their relationship with themselves (luxpoker cough cough lol) and couldn't admit you were one of the best.

Chances are that the best reg isn't the guy talking about how bad things go with him and how bad everyone is, but the one who is humble and won't **** on people.

wp man!

gl with everything in your life! You're a big inspiration bena!

vamoooooooooooooooooooooo
Thanks for the post rapidesh <3 haha well, yeah, let's not forget that this is a zero sum game and ultimately people don't really care if you lose. And honestly a gambling community will naturally embody the characteristics of trash talking/anger/saltiness because we are winning/losing money vs one another haha.

I'll be closely following your blog moving forward of course. Best of luck on and off the tables

(Obv. your results over a long sample confirm expertise in the former.) Can certainly empathise with your view on the down-cycle of the PGC, as a former PGC-er, and generally agree with your conclusions. I’m still retaining hope for the PGC, given how much influence this form of poker writing has had on so many. If placed in a historical frame, as we do with literary genres, for instance, I suspect we’ll soon see how threads like these don’t become threadless, regardless of how much we try to tie a knot at the end.
Great post man. The point you make about retaining hope given the influence of this form of poker writing feels poignant for me. The pieces I have written about poker recently have more of an autobiographical quality and really gives me the fulfilment to write that I used to get when I began this blog. I really want to continue this, and who knows, some of it may find its way into the public domain, however, with my current position of building a private practice and still being very much embedded within the poker community, I don't see any benefits. People like Ben Saxton are a great example (check out his blog if you haven't) - he offers refreshingly eclectic writing about life and poker.

I think having a thread somewhere to reflect is always good. Sadly here is no separation / hierarchy by threads based on amount of posts / PGC subforum for midstakes / highstakes etc. which means everything worth reading gets always lost by 17 pages because of these "making 200 usd with 10 usd starting roll" threads being at same place as the rare ones worth reading.

Too much spam and trash stopped me from posting here several years ago more than very occasionally. Haven't regret that decision. Cheers!
Some sad truths in this post yeah.

Yeah, holding onto previous warm/content for nostalgic value feels OK to some extent, but if it's hindering growth/moving forward it becomes potentially unhealthy. Perhaps a good break can give some space to what's important for me.

The interaction that used to happen on here is probably even more intense in some of the groups I am part in but of course anybody not involved in such groups will be left out.

It’s quite sad that this forum is what it is but I personally prefer what I have now compared to what my thread used to be when I was updating more regularly (either just bargs or boring af diary planner thing)

Prob just comes to show sth we all know and fear to admit:

We re getting old ripppp
hahaha unreal rip Yeah totally think that things moving over to other platforms was inevitable. Just like we aren't on myspace anymore!

yo guys, just a quick one.

With xmas coming up, the yearly toyforkids fundraiser has come around. It's been a tough year for everyone, but we as poker players have been extremely fortunate with job security during this period.

I'm going to be matching up to $500 of donations over on my ig but please do go ahead and check out the site and donate below:

hope you're all good <3
