Glad you're enjoying the ride mate! So all my best friends are poker players, the UK crew specifically have been friends since we were teenagers and when we turned 18 we started playing online and in casinos. Fortunately our group has expanded and now has a bunch of euroregs too. Luckily for me, i play the middle of the range stakes, a few play lower and a few play up to 5knl. We'll always talking about hands and giving random sweats when we're at each others house. tbh pio is the way forward to survive in this world - something i'm not willing to do long term anymore. You got a couple more years at least so make the most of it!

I FINISHED MY ESSAY. Such a satisfying feeling to work so hard on something and have it completed. Without a doubt the hardest i've ever worked on a piece of work... kinda sad really.

Put in a stressful session to celebrate with many big pots.

          2016 Yearly Review

Here's a comment i made at the beginning of the year. I just wasn't expecting to be up that much by April and then proceed to not win any cash for the rest of the year!

          Quote:
Next year i expect my profits to be significantly less, mainly due to rb changes and game quality, but if i can make 40-50k tables, alongside all the other stuff i got going on in my life, then i'd be over the moon.
It's been a very strange year in terms of where my winnings have come from. Losing 50bi at 200 6max, winning a chunk at 400. Getting ruined at full ring. I've got mixed feelings that i started the year playing a lot of 400-1k and now i'm playing 200z. There's also the fact that i legitimately ran the worst of all time for several hundred thousand hands. The positive out of that is more mental game resilience - I like to think that mine is right up there with the strongest nowadays.

The main difference this year is that I've focused a ton of time on other aspects of my life and i wouldn't change that for anything. It does feel like a loss that i'm not playing as high, however i can't afford the stress of large swings while taking a very demanding training. On the flip side, i'm a far better player than i was this time last year and that's an indication of how much harder the games have become.

          Graph

          Stake breakdown

          Someone requested my 200z graph

With what i've seen at 200z and being over 4bbev over my first 100k hands i imagine i'll be able to make a decent amount over the coming year.

          Some casual goals for 2017

          [ ] Visit 3 new countries
          [ ] Gain 6.5kg

what do you think is the reason of the huge gap between 200nl and 400nl
surely 200nl should be way easier to beat, or is this lack of focus at lower limits?

Congrats on staying strong this year and also all the accomplishments outside of poker. Funny how poker can kind of jade us towards anything outside of it, but when you look back in time (at least it's like this for me EVERY year), you cherish your travels/friendships/career moves way more than any poker accomplishments, even when you run super good in poker.

Likely pure variance, it's impossible to be a winning 400nl player and not beat 200 ya know. It could also have been a focus thing - when playing up to 1k probably not caring about the hands at 200.

you're very welcome and i'm happy that the thread provides all of the mentioned aspects.

yeah it's so true. If i spend all my time just with poker players or just play poker for several weeks straight, nothing else seems to matter. Become so consumed by it and can forget everything else. Can strongly relate to the looking back and cherishing everything thats non-poker. However, poker has given me the ability to do all those things, so lets not bash it too hard
