AJ might be a fold but villain has so few hands that beat us here. Unfortunately villain probably never bluffs here and we have better hands in our range to call. Sick spot though.
AT is a fold but its fairly close
AA is lol not a fold vs 80 vpip whale. Snap that off
Correct, AA - depends on the type of whale... very exploitative spot.
Feel like these would be folds that would be much easier to make on an upswing though...
well in theory they are not always folds, exploitatively speaking they could be... you would need a hell of a read though
this^

Yeah the AJ may well be a fold, but this combo felt like a much better call than AK with no heart

thanks. haha yeah, our ringer (the guy on the far right) was the only guy wearing them. The league is pretty lenient with stuff like that...

Sooooo, i thought my session was going well today. Figured i was up 2k. Then i checked and was horribly surprised. Oh well. I was so so disciplined and folded sooo many rivers, albeit probably incorrect for some of them.
I wouldn't fold the AQ. He can have worse for value and can be turning a decent amount of weak one pair type hands into bluffs on that card.
you mind listing a few value hands we beat along with some bluffs please! I can't think of any hands he bluffs here. ty

So grinded 2 sessions since last update. The first i thought i was up about 3k but i was down somehow then today, thought i was up 3-4k and was up 1200 (not so bad). Always happens that when i'm getting crushed i either lose way more than i think i'm down or win way less than i think. Pretty soul destroying every time i check

Yeah, you're probably right looking at it again. Don't see many value bets but I would probably shove any queen in villains shoes, very little showdown value and most players checking this river will almost always be check folding. I think it makes sense for you to be checking AQ and hands like KJ but from what I see most players will just shove the river themselves.
Hi Ben do you have any stop loss or win in place? If so how many bb?
hey man. nah i don't have stop loss or stop win in place. I generally quit if i'm playing bad and grind for as long as possible when i'm playing well/winning. Although, today is a bad example of that

I was pretty convinced he'd take showdown with most of, if not all of his Qx here. That may be a really stupid assumption though. Definitely agree with the last bit too.

Winning day, but really frustrating yet again. I start to get a really good session going and then out of no where get extreme bad beat/coolered to lose a huge chunk of my profit. As i said though, it's great to book 2 winning days in a row I'm unstuck for the month too!
vs weird reg. he seems to show up with such trashy 3b hands atm:
can i ask how you recognize when you are playing badly? is there something that triggers you to make the decision to quit? A bad decision perhaps or a feeling of internal tilt you get?
Reason I ask is im personally having a hard time trying to understand my mental game and working out why (other than variance ) why im having wild swings. For example losing 10BI+ in a session, or winning huge in a session, continuing to play then give it all back.
I know you work alot on your mental game so just curious to hear how your mind works to understand tilt, when it happens, what it does to you and how to ultimately stop it

There are a few signs that i'm aware of when i'm playing badly; playing too fast is probably my biggest. I end up snapping 4bets, not thinking about ranges and just auto-piloting. Tbh i usually quit when i've had enough, or have received another bad beat, cooler or made a questionable bluff for stacks.
I can 100% relate to the 'feast and famine' results. I spent like 80% of my poker career questioning why my results seemed to be so volatile and i never really came out with a solid answer. It still happens to me, i tend to go on insane heaters for a long time where i'm playing my absolute A game, then all of a sudden i'll lose/break ever for up to 2 or even 3 months. It's quite stressful but i think part of moving forward for me has been accepting that this is just the way my results are and there's little i can do about it apart from the above (quitting when im playing bad etc)
With regard to actually understanding tilt, it's not something i can answer in a few words. Tilt is very complicated and comes through in so many different ways. It depends on what gets under your skin and how you deal with challenges or emotional responses to things. I strongly recommend reading the MGOP as there are great examples and definitions to various types of tilt. I'm going to write up another bit on confidence over the coming week and may well do something on tilt since you brought it up.
This was a load of waffle really so apologies if i've totally missed the point of your question

hey! yeah i did. It currently lives at the main grind house where we constantly use chips for run it thrice The set is really high quality, comes in a good case and plenty of chips for at least 6 deep stacks. Also has 2 top quality decks of cards and a dealer btn. Definitely recommend

My graph dictates my emotions for the session today. Very up and down. I also had a very difficult learning experience at one of my placements yesterday which kinda knocked me for 6. I can't go into detail but thought i'd mention it as it was very much on my mind during my session and probably contributed to a lack of concentration.
think I'm always raising the 44 on 2nd-pair pairing OTT against a bad reg. against good regs prob a spot to raise pretty polarized if you want to raise imo
Wat in gods name is a difficult learning experience?
44 hand is so criminal that my left eye is still bleeding heavily after seeing this
haha as i said i can't go into it! what about the 44 had you bleeding out your eyes?!

cba to even post graph or hands today. just lost another 4k. Spent all week dropping thousands back after being up a ton to lose 7x that today. Soooo boring. Back to it tomorrow
Thanks for the response. Yes I agree playing too fast and starting too many tables is a great sign. Do you get a feeling of anger inside when you lose a hand or get bad beat that starts tilt? Sometimes it does for me.
What do you do once you realise your tilting? Is there something mentally you do to just say chill out to yourself?
I mean this in a complementary way, but what are you doing wasting your time playing online. If you're still beating 2/4 - 10/20 online, you should be playing live at the Palm every night.
The game is bigger, field is way weaker and much more opportunity. Don't get me wrong online is a great way to refine your game and is 'easier', but I thunk you should start to divide your focus...
