Nice results man. I like what you say about concentration lapses, and “punishments” for doing so. I like setting an alarm to give me an end time; helps me refocus and not drift off.
Yeah whatever people say about KT, he's a complete endboss and just crushes constantly. Huge props to that guy.

The alarm thing is a very good shout. But similarly to when your alarm goes off in the morning, it's soooo easy to hit snooze/lose another couple buy ins

Poker is not a game of justice. Entitlement tilt and being a bad loser is just lame, there are tonnes of ppl who look up to you, you're mentoring people too? I guess you'll look back on that behaviour and regret it sometime. It's not like I think you're a bad guy but come on you know this is poor form.
Luck is everywhere. Poker luck is amongst the least important, how bad do you even run? Probably one of the biggest winners lifetime?? Do you think you deserve your (pressumedly) good health, being born in first world country, job situation etc etc more than literally billions of people around the world who have it worse? Think bigger picture (poker and life). Zoom out a little (c what i did there?)
Also, using "literally" like that might imply to ppl that the mentioned sns are colluding or something
I'm not getting in the middle of this one

Seems like you got a pretty solid setup! Definitely turn off sound notifications tho. I still have no idea how people play poker with sounds. Seems like Guantanamo torture to me.

haha, i'll see you in another 8 months then

In other news, I've been accepted to the last year of my Masters. Although, because I've been slow at setting up my private practice, it may well take me 2 years to finish case studies (you need to write about a client you have seen for at least 40 [1 year] sessions).

I'm actually super hyped to get back into studying, getting back into therapy and generally finding that poker/uni/life balance. I've noticed an itch for filling my time with something other than poker and psychotherapy feels like just the right thing.

Grinding tomorrow.

August Results

Super early results because I'm going away to Barca on Monday (and not around tomorrow to grind). My results were suuuper swingy but i was happy to be able to turn it around in the last week to book another good month. That aaaawful downswing at the end of last year/beginning of this year feels like a thing of the past given recent results. Long may it continue!

Even had some toxic chat directed at me - been a while since this happened. Upswing must really be here!

I'll be in Barcelona from the 19-25th August. We got a solid crew this year or about 12-15 of us. Hmu if you wanna come do dinners/beach games/beers or whatever.

Then I'll be taking a holiday with my gf for 6 days before 4 days in Ibiza for my mates 30th. Will update when i'm home with trip report and pics.

I will not be playing a hand of poker until then bzzzzt

peace and gl!

Got back from Ibiza on the 5th and i'm still super ill with a nasty cold/cough. 4 days in that place and going in hard really takes it out of you! That said it was an absolute blast.

I got no photos from barca this year cus we been like 6 years in a row and there's nothing new to picture There was a massive crew this year tho - like 20-25 of us. Was super cool to do big hangouts/catch ups with some of the crew i hadn't seen for nearly a year, meals (biggup to blakk for organising so many huge bookings), many bomb games and ofc an abundance of spikeball (paging linus and rippa for doubles rematch that they conveniently dodged this year )

I then spent 6 days on holiday with my gf. We rented a car in Barca, drove through Spain to Begur, Cadaques and into Collioure in the South of France. Was a super relaxed holiday and pretty much the calm before the storm in ibiza...

Salvador Dali's house in Cadaques. His house was truly nuts. Never seen so many stuffed animals (including a polar bear)/weird eggs everywhere.

Couple pics from this seaside town, Collioure

'Maybe if you just sit down'. if you know you know

Beaut hotel

aaand a few ibiza pics

Decks and bongos for our villa party(ies)

7am post club outside chill zone lmao

So the partying, holidaying and summer has come to an end and it's time to knuckle down to some real work. I had a meeting 2 days ago regarding renting a space for half a day a week to see clients psychotherapeutically. They havn't got back in touch with me yet, however, there was a very weird vibe when I said i was a poker player. What's even more strange is not only is my qualification/institution very highly regarded in the therapy world, but also three therapists who were in my class the past four years are practising in the same building. That said, I haven't been declined yet so i'll reserve judgement for now. It just didn't make me feel very good.

I begin supervision again on the 23rd September and have my weekend studies organised too. Some i'm really really looking forward to such as working with refugees and gender diversity and further sexualities. On top of that I'll be commencing my own personal therapy again in the next 2-3 weeks.

Lastly, because I've been away, the website and package progression for mental game coaching has taken a back seat. This is also going to have to be added to this long list of stuff, so to those who have PM'd me please bear with me!

aaaand I obviously need to maintain playing poker and studying. It's all happening pretty fast but I'm feeling ready to get back into the swing of things.

Hope people are crushing WCOOP and smashing it at life.

glgl!
