Think u got it backwards, every pokerplayer and their mom play more when losing and book profits every time they up two buyins. Nothing wrong with your approach, will reduce volume but massively increase win rate and confidence

I see your point but there is still merit to strive to perfection, would be boring otherwise
I've always had this mentality - play a ton when i'm winning and not at all when i'm losing. This is a mental game leak that I'd like to address, but i'm still working on how I go about that.
lolwut???! this is like literally teh best approach to poker you can have. i havent met a single player who operates this way. everybody grinds ****tons when losing and takes it easy whrn winning... ****ing arrogant pri**

I've been playing on and off for a few years (online only) but in the past 6 weeks I've really began studying, playing, and digging into the game deeper than ever. I'm winning nicely in cash games and one of the hurdles we all go through (as it's discussed heavily in training videos these days) is different aspects of mental game, including keeping up your volume and not being concerned with "booking a win". In the past, I've had sessions where I started the tables up and within 25 minutes had won 2 BI's. I'd automatically sit out and leave, letting myself reenter the game later at 100bb's again. Massive, massive leak. In the past couple of weeks I've been playing with 200bb+ at the tables, increasing my volume, and looking at all of my sessions as what they are: One long session.
I know firsthand that what you don't want to do is "book a win" and reduce your volume when the games are ultra juicy only to come back the next day and see that you're in a tough game where it's difficult to extract value. You'll very quickly wish you had continued to grind the day before.
$350 off GazzyBusto on an ill-conceived penalty bet > $26k pots at 10kNL right?
haha, you're absolutely correct!

Lost some cash and played pretty well overall
vs my boy averagegreg. His turn sizing isn't a thing which pushed me into raising turn. River shove seems good

So i was gunna put a good weekend in of grinding, but instead found myself at a day party at 2pm on saturday and didn't get home till 6am sunday...
As a consequence i needed a couple days to recover, then clients, then uni, and now i'm heading to cyprus tomorrow morning for 5 days! Will likely play a few tournaments but no cash games as i don't have a sufficient laptop with hem etc. Looking forward to seeing some of the boys i haven't seen in ages and hopefully get some serious chill time in.
Likely will update after the trip unless we bink something!
Wow. More proof that some of the bad play is relative and you'll see it at every stake. Puts moving up in proper perspective to me.
recreationals everywhere bro!

Had a wicked time in Cyprus. As anticipated i didn't play any cash games at all. probably played a total of 50 hands or something. Just played thrice (ty mczhang for dat crossbook ), ate/drank, and buggied around some of the island. Here are a couple pics
All the boys

Feel super refreshed and ready to grind. Played a decent volume session with some swings
