Also I love SMB's side in that bet, 1000 is really really hard, it's just so many/need so much concentration.

Hmm what intrigues me is that some other motor control oriented things (juggling, learning instruments etc...) can have a very weird learning pattern from my experience. As in you struggle struggle struggle and then *CLICK* you've got it and take a quantum leap.

Never done a three figure keepie-up I don't think but I wouldn't be surprised if you fall into a very safe and comfortable rhythm at some sudden point a few weeks in. It's "only" 10-12 minutes after all... Still super hard, but I'd like to think possible.

Fun bet!

When I was recovering from ACL surgery, I always used to do keep ups in my kitchen on my breaks from poker. Always 3 sets, just see how many I can get to, and could consistently average 80ish by a few months, and lots of the drops were due to enclosed space. You improve super quick, I reckon you got a shot, but i deffo never got to 1k, maybe 300+ but legs start cramping after a while.

Probs woudn't bet it at evens but for 10k probs worth it and think it's basically in your own control to make yourself a lock if you are semi competent at football already.

I was just about to ask if this was what they meant. First it was 'footy' then 'kick ups' , what next?

Also re the challenge does using your knees and head count or only when kicking it with your feet?

It's far easier to do it using knees but I suppose stamina may have more of an impact if you restrict yourself in that way.

love bena's side of this, for 10k you just grind it out 2 hours a day or so for 20 days, you improve so quickly, 1k is eeeeeeeasy. for the actual attempt, fatigue will definitely be an issue, if you have a couple of close fails you'll be better off just waiting till tomorrow.

also knees definitely not easier, alternate feet ftw

Yeah +1 to all of this. Knees are easier only if you're a complete noob trying to get to like 20. Alternate feet is the way to go.

I played in a juveniles team that won pretty much everything in Scotland when I was 15-17, and there were multiple players in my team who couldn't manage 10 keepie-ups. Pretty damning statement on quality of football up here!

Actually think the line on this is about right. It's definitely something you'll get way, way better at with time. Think the 1k mark will more come down to how good your mental game is at 850+ once you get good at them. Just don't bottle it and you'll be fine.

I did some for laughs with my little brother after 10 years of not doing it and made it to 350 in a couple tries when my record was 131.. super ez with practice, would say way to go is one touch with each foot with some extra with your good foot to reposition comfortably.
