Probably my most enjoyable sporting experience ever. Definitely got the bug to play some more football tournaments and not just leagues.
I posted before that I run this sort of stuff in Amsterdam. On 15th July we're hosting Euro Football 5s and 6s tournament at our venue. Teams from UK come out for the tournament and a weekend jolly. We field a few Dutch and expat sides and I think a couple are coming from Spain.
Bring your 6s team out...

Reason: the second I posted that I realised it's right in the WSOPME - that's what I get from not playing poker anymore :D

ahhh yeah i remember you posting last time! That sounds very appealing. Would just be difficult to get the whole team on a trip cus some of them work (not all poker players in the team)
Keep me posted about it though! what will the standard be like?

So i've been trying to get going on this essay and failing miserably It's due the 27th so i've gotta get seriously down to business.
Decided to jump into some 500z today cus the pool looked insane. Played 2x200 and 2x500.
The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis is a biography of kahneman and his long timr collaborator, Amos something (tversky?) Very accessible and informative.
haha, it's funny you say that because i'm considering putting a mental game coaching package together. Figured cus i have no essay to write next term I could take some time to properly plan it. Will keep the thread updated about it!

It depends what you're looking for man. The books i could recommend would be more about psychotherapy and the theoretical side of things. Are you looking for self help, cognitive behavioural, psychoanalysis, dream analysis etc. If you can gimme a rough idea then i'll be of more help!

Only played 200z today and thank god i did. I finally ran like total garbage. Just the classics KK into AA every other hand, sets yada yada. I played probably B- game today too which added insult to injury
Death spot vs trash nit reg. Probable argument to folding preflop or flop. Just always has AA. Convinced myself into believing he could have the one off suit AK combo. Ofc not, he's 21 vpip with a million% w@sd and 0% 4b. He also AA v KK'd me another time
Preflop: Hero is BTN with K K
UTG folds, MP raises to $5, CO calls $5, Hero raises to $24, 2 folds, MP calls $19, CO raises to $86, Hero calls $62, MP folds
Flop: ($199) J A K (2 players)
CO bets $101.07, Hero calls $101.07
Turn: ($401.14) 2 (2 players)
CO bets $232.18 and is all-in, Hero calls $232.18
River: ($865.50) 8 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $865.50 pot ($2.75 rake)
Final Board: J A K 2 8
Hero showed K K and lost (-$419.25 net)
CO showed A A and won $862.75 ($443.50 net)

The best teams will be pretty good, the worst teams won't be (think pub footballers that just come for the beers). He runs it with a group stage and the best teams go to the Cup knockout and the worst to the plate knockout so it evens up quickly. Nothing else to keep you posted on, it's definitely going ahead on that date so you know what to do if you want to play
Failing that then when one of the team gets married one day do the stag in Amsterdam and then we'll play a match/set up a mini tournament! I have a great desire to see my team stomp your boys for some reason - I think it might be memories of getting stacked by smb a lot back in the day

lmao. sn?
gonna ask/pay someone to marry me asap so we can get this stomp (lol do you not know who we are?) set up.
I've looked into cognitive behavioural therapy, so i'm interested in these kinds of books.
I'm not too familiar with CBT books as it's not something i've studied, however my supervisor is a CBT therapist. I'll ask him for some suggestions and get back to you

Squeezer was large recreational. guy with KK is a reg who mixes 500z. Not sure why he's flatting pre. I think i can fold turn cus he has 66 so much. and he knows when i overcall pot otf that i have 44, and he knows that i know that he knows, so he just has to have me beat. oh well
Turn: ($378) 7 (3 players)
BB bets $2, MP raises to $624.19 and is all-in, Hero calls $260.76 and is all-in, BB folds
River: ($901.52) 8 (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $901.52 pot ($2.75 rake)
Final Board: 6 K 4 7 8
BB mucked and lost (-$126 net)
MP showed K K and won $898.77 ($514.01 net)
Hero showed 4 4 and lost (-$384.76 net)
