Thanks, I like the point you made about getting him to fold JJ type hands.. If you brick the turn, do you barrel again? I can't think of a situation where we would have AdTd OOP, but I can see if we have AdQd in SB and villain raised from EP, we called his raise.. Say we have AdQd on 674dds, we c/r, he calls. He either has a set, not many FDs, or overpair (of course more overpairs in his range.. Do you barrel a 5c turn? What about a 2c turn? What type of turn makes you more likely to double barrel when we miss in this situation?

well lets say you have AT and decide to call a MP open. flop comes 764. you check MP bets. you can rep sets nicely along with the fd so u raise. turn comes
a) 4
b) K
c) 2
you barrel all of those, if u get called on the two cards that dont help you, you should strongly consider shoving river. if u get called when u improve, easy game

Spoiler:
in that samespot i actually like donking sets

the reason i like the checkraise in that spot is that you have more leverage vs a range that cant really stand much heat and u dont really mind getting it in if need be. whereas when u donk and get called you look weaker (thats why donking is awesome with sets here)

now say you have QJ on 9T2

here a checkraise cant really rep many made hands cuz that flop is pretty dry and you wouldnt really donk sets here (in their mind). so what will happen here is that they call one barrel and maybe two but tend to fold to the third barrel quite often. an added benefit is that when u hit they rarely put u on the straight cuz u didnt play the draw convetionally with checkcalling

whats also great is that when u hit the J or Q u can squeeze one nice stret of value out of their 9x and Tx

Thanks for the information blakk. What type of player should you be playing against to feel safe to shove the river? If I don't have a read, only stats, would a low WTSD % tell me that he's weak tight and will fold more than he should?

nitregs. (sometimes good regs too) but gotta be a good spot and u shouldnt do that too often obv. never bluff fish

I was just checking out my PTR and wow.. it sure does miss a lot of hands. I always thought it was fairly accurate.. but now I have train wreck emblem. It says March 18th was my worst day, but it was probably my best day since I finished up like $80 and my EV was +$120.. it was against that big fish after midnight on St. Patricks Day.. and I had a huge day yesterday but my graph went down lol. That's strange it can miss so many hands.

I had a great day today in terms of increasing my bankroll. I am now definitely at a personal best of $745.. I did have more when I cashed in a $109 last year in like July.. It was the $109 FO $50k Guaranteed back then.. and today there is a $109 FO $200k Guaranteed lol! The prize pool has quadrupled since then.. and 1st place is guaranteed to be $50k.. It's the $109 $200k POKER MAXIMUS MAIN EVENT! I can't wait. I'm pretty excited. I get so nervous to start it, but after I stack someone, I'm fine lol.

I have been reading strategy/chatting with blakkman (love his strategy posts)/watching videos/reviewing my leaks.. and basically I know there are a few things I am not doing properly.

1. Playing OOP

I am terrible at playing OOP says my stats. I think I am never bluffing when OOP unless checked to.. I'm rarely C/R or donking... I am starting to do that (which is part of the reason I am researching C/R vs Donking with draws).. My Blinds and EP winrates are very bad. I need to fix this. I'm going to change my strategy. I may move down to 4 tables. I need to get this fixed and make +EV plays my "standard" plays in OOP pots.

2. Restealing from the Blinds
I have been too tight at 25nl. I think it's time to loosen up. I have 30 BI now, so I can suffer a downswing (PLZ GOD NO!) and still have enough to play at 25nl. I just watched a video made by Grinder School. It basically brought me back to the basics. It reminded me that I need to resteal and polarize my range. I think lately I've just been restealing for value. I need to add a lot more bluffs to that 3b range. I know the hands I should add.. I just need to do it. I should MAN UP! (lol funny poker advise.. that's usually never correct).. 3% of my range is for value (QQ+,JdJh,JhJs,AKs,AsQs,AKo,AcQd,AcQh,AcQs) I should add another 6%.. Easily balance with (66-22,A5s-A2s,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,54s,A9o,KTo,QTo,JTo) I selected these hands because normally IP, I may call with some of these, like the pocket pairs and SCs.. but because I am OOP facing a wide range, I can't call with them profitable (no IO), so I should be 3betting the top of my folding range and turning these losing hands when in the SB/BB, into BE or +EV hands..

3. Calling River Bets too wide
Another one of my problems is calling river bets believing the villains are bluffing. I have a low River Call Efficiency so I need to raise it. I think I'm losing a LOT of money because of this. I checked all the hands I called a river bet with and lost.. I lost $32.. so more than a FULL BI.. There's no way that cannot affect my winrate drastically. I need to get better at reading hands. I should set more accurate PF ranges and narrow them down based on their action street by street (which is how you hand read lol..). I also should focus on their river aggression.. and board texture. If a loose passive player decides to donk the river when a flush hits after C/C two streets.. that kinda tells me that I'm beat. I need to follow my first read. I will sometimes think, I can't call a river bet.. well he could donk the river with a set that he slow played.. and then I call. I need to review more of these hands and find out where I'm going wrong.

Also if anyone knows someone who can help me get some money off of RPM via GDMP, I would appreciate it. I wish you could do PayPal trades I just put my GDMP code on my PayPal account, and I can use my PayPal debit card

I had a good cash game day today. I also cashed in a $2k Guaranteed VIP freeroll.. won $9.. gave a friend 10% equity. I cashed despite running terrible. I ran terrible in the $50k $11 BI too.. I think I made a mistake in the $109.. I 5b aipf with AKs with 100bb~.. not sure if it's okay to do that in MTTs.. and I don't think it is because he isn't 4betting me with anything I'm actually ahead of like AQ/AJ.. I'm just tying with AK.. flipping with all pocket pairs.. and crushed by AA/KK.. So I don't think it was the best plan. I don't want to go into detail on the suckouts too much, but man did it suck. I really hate the swings of MTTs.. that's why I play cash games.. which also have terrible swings LOL..

I have 5k hands to play tomorrow. Not that excited about it. I am definitely ready for my study session + 2k hands on Tuesday though. I'm gonna dedicate Tuesday to studying a lot. I look up information / articles / videos on most days, except Wednesday. Playing 2k hands on Tuesday is going to help me for my Wednesday session. I have to play 10k hands. I will play 3k after midnight and go to sleep at 3am that way I don't have THAT many hands to play.

I'm going to the store tomorrow for a bunch of Dr. Pepper lol.. gotta reload up.

Well today I had a mediocre poker day. The good news is that I did get my Dr. Pepper. The bad news is that I lost overall $100 I received an offer I couldn't refuse. The cost to get money off of RPM sucks.. Like $125 to get $100 GDMP.. It's nuts.. I ended up getting $50 for $55.. which was a great deal. I used to get it for a 1:1 trade, but I haven't talked to that source in a while This should be my last withdraw until I get to like $2k unless I have an emergency.

I played some HU today. I got coolered I believe. I 3b pre with JJ, he called. Flop was T hi with two clubs. I cbet, he calls. I cbet turn (3flush ott), he calls, I shove river ($17 into $18~), he has K7 of clubs for a flush. =( I thought he could have a two pair hand or something like AT.. any lower set (I had nut set).. I also played more FR. I'm only playing on 6-8 tables at a time. I have only been tiling. I may just switch back to cascading, but I can't play the smart poker I want to if there are more than 12 tables. I will try to find where the equilibrium is for winrate/tables for me.

I am excited about tomorrow. I'm going to study a lot tomorrow, and apply the concepts that I learn. I'll be watching a lot of videos and playing 2k+ hands. I feel like there is money for the taking, but I'm not grasping it. I think I'm giving away too much money by not folding overpairs or sets on flush boards (not related to my HU hand).. It's like when a passive villain C/C, C/C, donks the river when the flush hits, it's pretty obvious what he has but I just can't let it go. Decent players may be able to hand read well but don't trust their instinct or just can't let go of these hands. I don't want to be just decent. I want to be great. I really think I could be the biggest winner at 25nl in April, but I need to get better. I think I'm improving my OOP play. I'm starting to use the C/R for value + increase the pot line more often. Having the float turn bet % on my HUD really helps me when I want to know if the villain will bet when I check to him. Today I would say I didn't play my best poker. I think I played better than most players at 25nl today, but I feel like it's not good enough. I don't want these stupid mistakes costing me money. I feel like I'm giving away my profit by making bad river calls / poor bluffs / bluff catching terribly when it doesn't make sense to.

Tomorrow's Schedule:

11am:
Watch a video on either LeggoPoker or DragTheBar about playing OOP.

12pm: Watch a SplitSuit video on thepokerbank.com - Either about playing OOP/River Calling/Facing Raises/3b/resteal, I've seen all his videos, but I can't remember what there is.

1pm til 3pm: Play 6+ tables of 25nl.

4pm: Watch the video "Theory" by RikaKazak

5pm: Watch one video of the Thin Red Line/Grind series by Grindcore (Great stuff)

6pm - 9pm: Play 25nl 6+ tables, apply concepts..

9pm-12am: Sleep/Watch TV

12am-3am: Play as many 10nl hands as possible!

When watching all of these videos, I will be taking notes, and "actively learning" (I believe that's what they call it.) I will take notes on specific lines or specific situations I can use to improve my game. I'm going to mix in a restealing/3betting video in there.. Probably a SplitSuit video.

Hand Review:

This hand was like LOL WTF???

Villain is 29/19 with a 5% 3b, Fold to 3b of 27%, 2.6 AF over 1k hands.
He Cbets 79%, He check/folds on the flop after not cbetting as the pre-flop raiser only 38% So he checks the flop 21% of the time as the PFR. He check/folds only 8% of the time.. He check raises 7.02%.. and that means he calls 5.98% of the time (I added it up lol.. can't do this in the game but I can see his flop raise is low)

I see his flop raise size, I'm thinking he could have AA, a flush draw, AK (he's 29/19 lol), KJ.. I mean there are so many villains that raise with only tptk.. or tp.. I also have a note saying he's raised the flop with a SD and he plays turn draws aggressively..

Flop Raise: 8.33% C/R Flop: 7.02%
Both of these stats are smallish.. They basically tell me that he raises with sets/two pair often.. I'm not sure if it's high enough to say he raises FDs too..

After I 3b the flop, am I committed? That's the main reason I didn't fold.. I thought I was basically pot committed. I can't just call this and allow a flush to get there.. I can shove incase he has KQ, K8, Q8, Flush Draws, AK, AA, or hands that beat me, 88 (3 combos), KK or QQ (1 combo each).. So 4 combos beat me.. the hands I mentioned that he could have, several of them are probably eliminated when he 4bets me lol.. KQ isn't, AA.. and maybe JTcc or J9cc.. some big combo draw..

I really am not sure if I can fold the flop.. I see sets just jamming.. I mean why wouldn't you? A flop min 4b looks scarier anyway LOL.. (somehow to me it does.) I mean there are 4 combos that beat me.. but I guess they say that if a fish is representing a thin range, he's got a thin range lol.

I think every time regs take this line they have a set so we should consider folding here even though I get it in here all the time anyways haha
What's important though: red rid of that 'I have put in x money in this pot, I am comitted' that only leads to mistakes. Imagine you put in 55% of your stack in a spot where you're confident that when something happens you re a favorite but when he minraise back he likely has you crushed. Then in the former go ahead with ur read and get it in later but when the latter happens do find the fold.

Same with AK preflop. If u fourbet a threebettor cold you should be ready to fold to his shove but assume to have great post flop fold equity when he doesnt. But stacking off Pre only cuz you have put in 25-30% of your stack just doesn't cut it

So today I had a pretty good session. I'm still finding a few troubling spots. I am using TableScan Turbo to help me find the biggest fish. It's very awesome I also bought 500k PTR hands for 25nl. I won't need them very long hopefully, but I still think they are worth the investment because there used to be so many people I didn't have hands on, but last night there were only 4 ppl that I didn't have 100 hands on. It was awesome.. I can now more easily mark down whales (40+ VPIP)

I also signed up for DeucesCracked. I like everything on there so far. I bought a month subscription. I've watched several of BalugaWhales videos. They are awesome of course.. His breakdown of videos is good too. I saw a video he broke down with someone else back in 2008. They were analyzing Mpethybridge's video he sent in. I was surprised. I said to my friend "OMG Mpethybridge was like one of us.. 4 years ago." My friend asked what one of us meant.. I told him "BAD." It was surprising to see, but in that video, BalugaWhale (I hope it wasn't the other guy that was breaking down the video that did great analysis lol) was talking about how with deep stacks, suited connectors are more valuable and how higher cards were better for small stacks. He gave an example of how A hi is the nuts pre in MTTs when you have like 10 bb.. It made a lot of sense, and now I know I can play / flat a little wider when I'm deeper. I obviously already flat SCs when deep vs other deep villains, but I may add in more S1Cs..

I really think these DC videos will help. I'm gonna try to download a lot so I have content to watch for the next few months to get better on. I kinda like the way they have their site/community set up.

So about my schedule I wrote yesterday. I did watch several videos. I watched a lot on DC but also a video on LeggoPoker about donking and one about value check-raising.. I didn't like the donking video that much because it was something I don't think really applies overall and usually only applies for certain sites and some fish donk bet with different goals in mind. I started a bit late though since I went to sleep so late. I will prob end up doing it again if I don't hurry and play some hands & get to sleep at 3am..

Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying watching my progress.. I'm almost ready for April!! I need to come up with some goals

So if you haven't noticed, I won $100 from flopping Quad Jacks That was pretty awesome.. when I saw it I almost open shoved as a celebration.. the even better news was I got paid off OTR I was only playing 4nl 6max LOL. I played like 3.6k hands of 25nl/10nl and had already raked about $35.. so I decided to play a thousand or so more.. I eventually was at $47 raked when I started to play 4nl 6max. I was at one point down $14.. then up $15.. then I finished down $24.. I like had a seizure almost and just started shoving all my hands PF for fun.. I wasn't even on tilt. I was actually laughing my ass off. Shoving $4 at a time.. It was fun at the time.. but right now it kinda sucks LOL.. I regret it since I did lose money lol.. I lost like $40 in less than 1k hands.. I guess I was trying to be like ProfessorZB.. RIP ProfessorZB.. (PTR him, he's a legend)

I am excited about my DC membership. Also everything in my poker life and I guess real life is coming together.. except my life is mainly poker lol. I'm doing well. I'm trying to improve. I withdrew $150~.. I am filled up on sodas.. I paid back my mom for some 12packs of Dr. Pepper she bought me. I bought some energy shots.. (Stacker 2s only $1 each.. pretty cool, got the extra strength, and they are the same price ) Basically everything I want/need right now is going great. I'm ahead schedule on my goals. I'm probably not gonna meet the winrate goal, but that's okay for now. Next month, I want to achieve it. Also.. I guess the name of the thread is 10nl to 25nl.. I'm glad I can beat 10nl, and I'm now sorta beating 25nl

I think I would have done a lot better today, but I had to play with no HUD the entire day. After I ended my 3am session, I updated my PT4 database's cache. It usually takes like 8 hours.. this time it took a lot longer, and I eventually had to cancel it. I didn't realize it until afterward, but when you cancel it and don't let it finish, it will break the HUD and your reports don't show up. I'm trying to get it fixed now. I'll prob just run it again.. actually I just started it so when I wake up, I'll be able to play.

I'm about to watch some TV.. maybe watch a DC video.. probably play 25nl while watching TV.. Not optimal, but I like it. It calms me. I really only listen to the TV.. and I only watch like SportsCenter.. I don't like watching shows that are new because it ruins the fun of watching the show.

I had an up and down day.. my graph kinda shows that... when I started 4nl 6max, I was doing bad. It took me about 2k hands to get ahold of it without a HUD.. I didn't exactly enjoy it though lol.

Hopefully next month there won't be a $109 promo.. and if there is, somehow make it out of reach or easier lol.. I remember when it was 8k hands. I can't NOT do it. (garmar).. I love the $109.. and the good news is that they added a 150 seats to $150k FR to RPM AGAIN!!! also, WOAH, It's $150k Guaranteed Woot.. I'm excited for that. The reason I hope there isn't a $109 promo is because then I will have more days that I can play good + smart poker. I will probably make more money by just playing 25nl on 6 tables for several hours than the 10k hand promo.. I hope that next month there are a lot of good promotions though.. we will find out soon.

Speaking of next month, I have decided that I won't have a large hand count goal. My goal will be based on hours played. I want to play at least 3 hours a day. I'm probably looking to play 6 hours most days. I really want to move up as fast as possible. I'm glad I'm starting to have money again lol. It's been a while.

Oh yeah, also I forgot to mention.. I played quite a few tables at the end of my session. Quite a few = 31

So today was annoying. I woke up at like 8am.. so I slept like 4-5 hours, then I went back to sleep and woke up at like 2pm.. I didn't feel like playing poker. Something didn't feel right.. I started a session anyway, while I wasn't feeling okay.. I felt really hot / headache.. I lost like $22.50~ so I got off. I got on about 3 hours later.. I only played for 30 minutes. I received some advice the other day, and I decided to try it out. It was if you call in the blinds, you can C/C the flop, and donk the turn for value if they don't check/back the flop a lot.. well I forgot about looking at his turn Cbet or his AF or anything (I wasn't in the optimal mental state..) I had AQ, flop was Qxx, I donk the turn.. well the advice also said people will spazz out because they don't know how to react. Villain raises of course.. (Qs 6d 3d) (8c), It's an innocuous turn, and was told some will spazz.. I call.. I check river, he bets half pot. I call (thinking he's continuing his spazz).. He had top set.. aka QQ lol.. I didn't play it well. I should add to my popup how villains react to donk bets OTT.. I'm gonna update my popup with a lot more information + make it look better.

I finally started to feel better about 3 hours later.. I played for 1h 30minutes and won $31.30.. I ran really bad, but still managed to win a BI .. (I just noticed, it's been a while since I've had a session where I've won more than 1 BI.. I do like this consistent (sorta) 1 BI sessions, because +$25 is a lot to my roll, or it feels like it lol.)

I took a note on a guy earlier today during my bad session. His name has the word "Degen" in it (spelled incorrectly), and he had WAY overplayed AK in a 3 way pot. He stacked off with AK on AQX two hearts.. He actually X/R a X/R LOL.. P1 checks, Degen checks, P2 bets pot.. (already a 16 bb pot otf), P1 min raises.. Degen, re-raises LOL.. Degen had AK, P1 had like a set.. and the other guy may have had a FD? I'll post the hand..
Well I was playing against this same degen later.. He cold called (from the SB, not rly cold) my 3bet (I was BTN, 3b the CO).. Degen checks, CO checks, I bet half pot with AcQd on Qd Jd 2c.. Degen checks. I bet $8 into $12.25 (I was planning on bet/folding when I made the bet.. I coulda bet $7 if I were B/F maybe.. not sure if a diff sizing is better for this b/f) Degen shoves $21.48.. It costs me $13.48 to call. I'm getting 3.1:1.. I think, then I look at his name LOL.. I see that it was the guy that overplayed top pair hours before.. so I decided that he could do it here or could have a draw and went nuts.. I called. He had KhJh.. rivered a J. I thought I made a good call because of his nature of overplaying hands and getting it in way too "light."

Review Hands:

Today I actually have TWO hands I want to review / show you guys because I thought they were great plays. I made a good call in one hand. The other hand I used an unorthodox play that got me 2 stacks.. when the "standard" TAG play would have only netted MAYBE 1 stack.. (My play won't always net 1 stack, but a lot of the time it will.. at least more than the "standard way"..) I'll elaborate..

So I have AA on the BTN. UTG+1 min raises. (Very loose + high 3b pre). The CO 3bets to 3x the opening size. CO is a loose aggressive bad player that plays wayyy to aggressive. His name is xxSTANxXDARDxxxPOxKxExR without the XXX of course lol. (you want to put xxx so if he googles his name, he won't find 2+2).. I rarely mention a players' name but it just seemed ironic (which is how most online poker player's names are.. like bluff101 is a nit or something.. nitREG69sex is like a loose passive or something).. Anyway, I thought that it would be better for me to flat AA on the button for several reason.

1. Position - This is the most vital. I am going to have position throughout the hand, so if my plan back fires, I will be able to find a fold if need be because I'll have more information than my opponents.

2. CO's Cbet % / Aggression - The CO has a Cbet % of 79%.. he has been really aggressive despite his AF of only 1.8.. He goes crazy a lot, and stacks off light. I think if I 4bet here, he rarely stacks off unless he has like QQ+, AK.. He also folds to 50% of 3bets.. (this is a 4b, and he's actually not folded to any 4b yet, but only 3 samples, and he coulda had AA/KK those 3 times)

3. UTG+1 is a Aggro FISH - I keep the fish in. Yeah, he may flop a set or two pair or some crap, but not often. He will get sticky with 1 pair hands because he's a fish. He will think "OMG, HE DIDN'T RAISE PREFLOP, HE CAN'T HAVE POCKET ACES, SO HE HAS NOTHING, I BEAT 'NOTHING'. I CALL." (I saw a video where someone said fish use that type of logic, ty whoever it was that told me that lol) He will be major value.. and if I 4bet pre, he won't be major.. he will fold like 97.9999% of the time..

UTG+1: 46/30 19% 3b 2.4 AF over 97 hands

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has A A

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.50, fold, fold, CO raises to $1.51, Hero calls $1.51, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls $1.01

My plan works! All 3 of us see the flop!

Flop: ($4.88, 3 players) 3 5 9
UTG+1 checks, CO bets $3.66, Hero raises to $11.00, UTG+1 calls $11.00, CO raises to $42.11 and is all-in, Hero calls $12.49 and is all-in, UTG+1 calls $14.60 and is all-in

As I thought, CO cbets. I can't/shouldn't slow play on this flop. I suspect the CO to have like TT+ and stack off with those.. I think that UTG+1 could have ATC.. Now when he flats the flop raise, I'm thinking.. crap, my plan backfired! Obviously there's no way I'd fold here, and I didn't give it a thought. (Maybe I should explore all options, but I thought it'd be horrible to not stack off on this flop if I'm gonna flat pre.) When they flop over their cards, I'm fist pumping LOL.. DOUBLE FIST PUMP (WPT!!! WILLIAM REYNOLDS)

Turn: ($79.57, 3 players) K

River: ($79.57, 3 players) 3

Spoiler:
CO shows 8 8 (Two Pair, Eights and Threes) (Pre 18%, Flop 10%, Turn 2%)
Hero shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Threes) (Pre 67%, Flop 74%, Turn 90%)
UTG+1 shows Q 9 (Two Pair, Nines and Threes) (Pre 15%, Flop 16%, Turn 7%)
CO wins $0.00
UTG+1 wins $4.07
Hero wins $72.50

This hand wouldn't be here if I hadn't taken a note on this guy earlier. In the hand I took a read on him, I was in the CO. I had AT. He called OTB.

Flop: (Pot: $1.75) A 7 6
I Cbet for half pot ($0.87). BTN calls.

Turn: (Pot: $3.49) 3
I check. BTN bets $2.50. I call.

(I was looking to only get two streets of value, and I didn't realize how difficult that is when OOP, I need to start checking their turn float bet stats. I was wanting him to check back, then I bet the river, and he calls with a 7x, 6x.. TT-22.. Ax that's worse.. basically anything worse.)

River: (Pot: $8.49) 5
I check. BTN bets $8.49. I fold.

There was something about him betting OTT, and betting so big OTR that made me think he was bluffing. I took a note that said "Try out check/call turn, C/R river for value.. villain treats checks as weakness & goes aggro?".. I thought this because he doesn't have many Ax hands that would play like this. He 3bets AQ, AJ. I didn't think he had a 4x.. It seemed like stupid aggression.. like not trying to represent anything, just trying to get your opponent to fold. I do think he can have 76, 75, 78.. He could have 89 and rivered the nut straight.. 89 definitely makes sense, but there was something about his sizing, timing, and the runout that made me think this was air.. He has a pretty high AF, and he seems to always float bet.. if you check, he bets. (btw, he float bets this turn with almost all of his range that called pre, so he can definitely have a lot of hands here, and his river bet does rep 98 well I think, but he honestly only has 4 combos of 98 since I doubt he's calling with 98o)

So that hand led me to this one.

Villain: 29/12 4% 3b 0% Fold to 3b 3.1 AF 319 hands
Cb: 45% CbT: 0%

Merge - $0.25 NL - Holdem - 8 players

MP+1: $65.00
CO: $28.07
Hero (BTN): $46.37
SB: $28.08
BB: $33.91
UTG: $26.08
UTG+1: $25.70
MP: $25.00

SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has A T

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.65, SB calls $0.55, fold

Flop: ($1.55, 2 players) 2 T 5
SB checks, Hero bets $1.03, SB calls $1.03

Turn: ($3.61, 2 players) 4
SB checks, Hero bets $2.80, SB raises to $6.00, Hero calls $3.20

I noticed the note/player when it was my action on the turn. I looked to check, but then I saw.. oh yeah, I'm actually IP!! I was wanting to be OOP :P.. So I bet the turn for value. I get value from worse Tx.. 66-99, and flush draws. So he raises me. I'm a little worried, then I check his turn raise and turn check raise.. He had either raised or x/raised the turn 17.6%.. or 3/17 times.. and that seemed like a kinda large amount for only 300 hands at the time.. and the note I had on him that he liked to get aggressive post flop made me think he could be bluffing here. I thought he could have a FD.. and I didn't know if I should have just shoved (I think I should have) or call.. I call and he only hits his flush 19% (actually 17% with my blocker)..(He may have other outs, but the Ace isn't one) and I think he shoves a lot of his missed flush draws or just pure air that c/r the turn..

River: ($15.61, 2 players) Q
SB bets $20.40 and is all-in, Hero calls $20.40

So now he jams. I think it was a snap jam. I can't remember for sure.. but I thought that he would always jam this river as a bluff.. he would obviously jam this river with a flush too.. but because of his previous action of being aggressive w/o repping much, I thought I'd make a hero call. I really did think about this for like 15 seconds, and I decided it was a call.. and obviously it only was a good call since it worked lol. There will be a lot more hero calls, but they won't be posted here because I'll get stacked LOL..

Spoiler:
SB shows K J (High Card, King) (Pre 40%, Flop 23%, Turn 14%)
Hero shows A T (One Pair, Tens) (Pre 60%, Flop 77%, Turn 86%)
Hero wins $53.59

I had a bad session again today.. I think I played well, but literally none of my bluffs worked.. like my Cbets, everyone of them were called.. I 3b a guy with 97% fold to 3b (it was like 30~ opportunities too....folded like 28) and he 4bets obv.. Guy that folded to 7 of 8 4bets, 5bets me all in.. Just an off day.. I finished down $55 for the whole day.. I had a +1 BI session later in the day..

They announced the April promotions..The 10k hands is back. $109 ticket..They made it now 750 vip point requirement instead of 500.. I can still do that.. I may end up doing it, I'm not sure yet. I do like all the double vip pt days next month..

Monday: Rake $20 (200 VIP pts) for double VIP pts! (50% rakeback + 13% bonus)
Tuesday: 5k hands for double VIP pts! (50% rakeback + 13% bonus)
Wednesday: Rake $20 (200 VIP pts) for double VIP pts! (50% rakeback + 13% bonus)
Thursday: 500 tourneys for double VIP pts! (50% rakeback + 13% bonus)
Friday: 5k hands for double VIP pts! (50% rakeback + 13% bonus)
Saturday: 10k hands + Rake $75 for a $109 ticket

They brought back the $109 freeroll 150 seats to the $150k!

If you flop Quads, you get a bonus ranging from $5 to $100!!

I wish they had this Quads promo for all hands last month.. Using the chart from this month, I'd be up $505 from just that bonus

This is how many times I flopped quads this month with the amount I would have won for that hand:

AA 4x +$400
TT 2x +$40
77 3x +$30
66 1x +$5
55 2x +$10
33 3x +$15
22 1x +$5

16 times I flopped quads.. +$505

I saw the flop with a pocket pair 4,420 times. You flop quads 1 in 407 times (or 0.25% chance.)

I flopped Quads 0.362% of the time. 16 out of 4,420 = 0.00362 = 0.362% Slightly above normal, but that happens.. Only should have flopped Quads 11 times. Standard Deviation dawg

I flopped a set 450 times this month. 450 out of 4,420 = 0.1018 = 10.18% of the time. You should flop a set 11.8% of the time. I earned 18.54 bb/hand with a flopped set. I should have flopped a set 522~ times. That is 72 sets below average!! I should have earned 1,334.88 BB more!! OMGZ I want my extra +13.34 BI lol.. Obviously you won't flop sets exactly the same amount as you should.. It'll take another 3 billion hands for it to even out.. average to da mean brah.. Riggies gonna rig..

Anyone have ideas for April goals?

My friend Ice suggested adding life goals. I need to get back on a sleep schedule again. Also another thing he suggested was watch 1 or 2 poker videos a week. I'll probably watch 1 or 2 video series a week. So I'll set a goal to watch 4 Video Series in April. (I'll probably watch more.)

There are 30 days, so I'm going for roughly 100 hours of poker next month.
I'll be shooting for 84k hands. That is if I don't do the 10k hands promo. I have 1 week to decide.

5x Sunday: 2k * 5 = 10k
5x Monday: 2k * 5 = 10k
4x Tuesday: 5k * 4 = 20k
4x Wednesday: 2k * 4 = 8k
4x Thursday: 2k * 4 = 8k
4x Friday: 5k * 4 = 20k
4x Saturday: 2k * 4 = 8k

April = 84k hands

If I do the 10k hands promo, I'll have a goal of 116,000 hands.

Good news today! I won a $109 ticket in the 150 Seats to $150k! So I have two $109 tickets now

I ran bad today I've lost more at 25nl, but I haven't ran as bad.. I had KK and knew the villain would flat with only QQ/JJ/TT/AK.. well I Cbet on Qxx.. the turn is a T.. so I'm losing to QQ and TT now.. and I think JJ floats but not his AK..and even so, if I bet the turn, I get value out of none of his range, so I check back.. he bets, I call. He has QQ =/ I had another one of those "feelings" lol.. and I used my brain to read his hands.. I really need to get better at hand reading, so I'll be looking up some more information / videos on it. Btw, I didn't put in many hands because I just didn't feel comfortable. I felt like I was in a negative mood.

March has finally ended! I'll have my new April Goals thread up tomorrow afternoon. I am glad that I met a few of my goals. I didn't expect to be at 25nl already.. about a month ago I was struggling to beat 4nl consistently lol.. I could beat it but never keep it and build to go to 10nl.

Anyway, I had a bad session, and I'm kinda tired so I want to make this a short post. I'll be posting my graphs for March along with a calculation of how much I actually made including bonuses/rakeback and all.. I do know I made at least $750 profit although I withdrew a bit of it to get Dr. Pepper and other stuff. I'm looking for a cheaper drink and healthier drink. I'll be adding life goals to my thread for April also

I really wish I had more activity in this thread other than myself. It kinda makes me more motivated because what I've done so far is just peanuts. I need to get a lot better and more results. I will definitely have that next month.

Should I keep my VIP pts and wait to turn them in? You only get 3 per month, but I don't exactly see a point in saving your VIP pts and waiting to turn them into cash for later in the month. You have to use the 3 opportunities you have to turn them in per month or you will eventually have to wait a month just to turn your VIP pts into cash.

Poker Goals:
  1. 2,000 Hands a Day
  2. 100,000 hands in March! (10,000 each Wednesday + 2,000 for the other days)
  3. $400+ in Money Won at the tables this month.
  4. Bankroll to $650 by April 1st
  5. 8bb/100 Winrate
  6. NO MORE MTTs! ONLY Poker Maximus Events! BI with only VIP/Tickets
  7. Complete all 4 $109 Promos (10k hands + 500 VIPs)
  8. Complete all 4 $11 Promos (5k hands)
  9. Have a 2:1 ratio with Blueline to Redline (Try to have a positive redline.)

Goal 1: I averaged over 2k hands per day, but I had 21 days with at least 2k hands. I didn't include the one day where I had 1,999 hands lol. I would say I completed this goal, but I dislike how I finished the month. (On my PT4 calender, I had 22 days with 2k + hands. My count is from all of my posts. Sometimes I would go to bed at 3am so I counted the hands from midnight til 2am as the day before's hands. I basically made each day's hand count based on my 1st session til my last before I went to sleep.)

Goal 2: I surpassed this goal by 18,566 hands. I was on pace for like 150k, but since I moved up to 25nl, I play more quality hands than quantity hands.

X Goal 3: I failed at this goal. I was wanting $400 in profit from winning at the tables only. So not including any rakeback. I ended up with only a profit at the tables of $226.09.. and I wasn't expecting to get to 25nl so fast so it's a bigger disappointment because this goal was for +40 BI at 10nl. I am really working on this. I'm fixing my leaks slowly, but I am fixing them at least.

Goal 4: I definitely reached this even with me withdrawing a bunch of cash. As of right this minute, my bankroll is at $727.06. I am sure I'd be at $1k if I did not withdraw any money.

X Goal 5: This was a big fail I'm doing well at 25nl right now, I have a 4 bb/100 WR there.. but overall my WR is only 1.68 bb/100.. I really want to improve this so much. This is my main priority.

/X Goal 6: For the most part, this was a success. I only played 26 MTTs total. I used tickets for 8 or 9 of them. I also played a freeroll for the 150 Seats too on the last day of March.. I made this goal so I wouldn't be constantly searching for MTTs to play. I did a lot better than usual. In February, I played 39 MTTs.. and probably only used tickets for 4 of them. I played 48 in January

Goal 7: I really hated playing the 10k hands just to get the $109s.. It took so long and basically I lost 4 days of my life for $436 in tickets. I lost a total of $9 (-$59 playing, +$50 rb). I received $9 in rake from the $109 ticket 4 times ($36 in rake * 25% = $9 in VIP pts).. So that's a profit of $0 exactly lol. I didn't even cash.. So I played for 47 hours and 33 minutes for a profit of $0 lol.. Slave labor I'm starting to lean towards not setting this as a goal for April.

X Goal 8: I only did 3 of these. I decided that the last one wasn't worth it because there wasn't a big MTT for me to play, and I woke up later than I expected / should have so I decided not to play the 5k hands in a rush.

X Goal 9: This was an odd goal.. I don't know why I picked 2:1.. I do know that a 2:1 goal would be pretty good for my style of play.. I only finished with a ratio of 1.2:1 blue to red.. So far at 25nl, I'm 1.5:1 after 25k hands.

Quote:
Life Goals:
  1. Adjust to sleeping from Midnight to 8AM! (May switch to a little later time based on when tables are active. I'm fully committing myself.)
  2. Do the dishes everyday.

Bankroll on 2/29/2012 at 3:27AM = $223.51
I am still working on my sleep schedule. I was doing "okay".. like I'd go to sleep at 3am and get up around 11am everyday.. but a few days ago I got off track and went to sleep at 7am and have been doing it since

I still have been procrastinating on doing the dishes, and I'll be setting an incentive based goal for every time I do the dishes. It will be based on playing MTTs/SNGs.

So in 30 days, I've increased my bankroll by $503.55. I feel great about that. I just checked my rakeback and cash game profits. I won $231.46 at the tables this month (includes a PLO cash game session and others I played.) I won $230.75 in rakeback. So half of my profits are from rakeback.. which I don't like, but I am glad I have rakeback at least lol.. I hope to improve this even more next month.
