Are you flying into the UK?

Unfortunately most of my experience of UK outdoors is pretty far from London. Snowdownia and the Lake District are both awesome spots too, but Scotland definitely trumps all. Train to Edinburgh is 4 hours too, so probably actually closer than those two, but still a treck from London.

Haha yeah that's a fair point. Yeah absolutely loving it so far, Edinburgh reminds me a lot of Vancouver in terms of all the benefits of a city, with all the easy access to the outdoors.

Nah, we're all English. I'd be coming from either the Midlands or London and the others would all be coming from London. I've hiked in both Barmouth area and the lake district before but I don't recall either being as beautiful as Scotland appears to be judging from those pictures.

It's possible that if we're already travelling 3 hours we might as well bite the bullet and just go to Scotland instead.

Yeah highlands is different gravy, just a shame it's so far.

Ran fairly insanely this month, just coolering people everywhere, variance really is still sick that this can happen after basically breaking even for 100k hands.

I'm still working to improve every day though, probably discussing 5 hands min per day in the bitb chat and then doing a lot of study calls too with top regs.

Most important things in these stretches I think is too stay humble and grounded, recognise that I'm running like a god, and keep working on mental game/ technical game so I keep improving my base w/r so that these pop off stretches become more likely and major downswings become less likely.

Thanks for the compliment, but mostly avoiding zoom in bad pools because I don't think I am a top reg, some smart guys in 200z now and my long term winrate is not crushing enough to be seriously considering myself one of the best (4.9evbb/100 over 450k hands, and that's including the recent heat)

Thanks, one of the great things with working at bitB is that through all the students you see so many random upswings and downswings that it really makes it crystal clear how crazy variance is.

Before I was much more liable to live my own hype when I was running hot, and lose much more belief when I was running badly. Impossible to completely avoid but I would like to think I've improved quite a lot lately at it, having given it a lot of thought and made a couple of videos on the subject. This game really will kill you if you ride the highs and live the lows too much - but we'll see how much I can heed my own advice when I start running bad again.

Hi guys - myself, Darrel (fourSixFour) and Donald recorded a podcast today across a wide range of topics, including dealing with variance, game selection, and being a poker professional in 2019 generally.



Would be interested to hear any feedback, as we'll definitely do more in the future if this is popular. All three of us have had 40bi downswings this year, with overall year w/rs at 4bb+, so it's a stuff we've been discussing a lot recently.

Really enjoying it, especially with how casual it is.

Theyve removed 400/600nl and replaced it with 500 at reg tables. So 200 -> 500 -> 1k now
