Thanks for the kind words guys. Again - nice to have such results but equally any results > $25k for me are more indicative of extreme run good than anything else given my volume and average stakes. Just gotta keep knuckling down and hope the results keep following.

One thing I think I did consistently in May was get outside for some exercise every day. Even if it was a 30 minute walk up the hill, it made a huge difference to my mental health I think.

For a while in the UK you were allowed to leave the house once per day to exercise due to corona. This became part of my routine, and I think it's definitely a big takeaway from this period that spending time in nature and getting some sunlight makes a huge huge difference. It's crazy because these things are obviously good for you, but so easy to neglect when the gains you get from them aren't concrete and with the rush of day to day life and the way our brains our wired much easier to 'relax' by lieing on bed scrolling through social media instead.

Last month probably did more cardio than I've done in a long time, including an impromptu near half marathon run when my road bike got a puncture.

Last month ran 45km, cycled 330km, so would like to try to beat these in June, and also this total time:

bitb Cash

Our bitB cash group has also been absolutely popping this month and year. This is probably highly covid correlated I guess, but also I think the underlying signal has changed too. Despite claims from our competitors I think there really is no dispute now we that we are the best cash group in the world, with 2 coaches in top 10/15 players (makeboifin, 464 for clarity) in the world, all 5 coaches average stake >750nl, and only 14 students between the 5 of us.
We actually had a discussion a year or so ago if this was something we wanted to keep doing and concluded that keeping a small group of guys we like and enjoy working with, and making it encompass all of our private study was the way to go. I'm so glad we continued and actually love the community now, all of 464, psek and my study is basically done within the group, and just seeing people have that lightbulb moment is such a great feeling and I'm sure my own progress has been a lot due to the students in the group too. Apologies if this is a bit too much advertising for some, but this is a big part of my grind and my advice to anyone looking to succeed would be to work and study with friends, make it fun, build a community, and love the process. This is what bitB more broadly has been for me, and am sure on the tourney and cash side of things has been for countless other players.

Goals for June

I want to be a bit more relaxed with my poker goals in June and a bit less relaxed with my none poker goals. Let's go for:

- Stretch every day
- 10 pull ups every day
- Get outside for 30mins minimum every day
- 10 pull ups every day
- 1 100km ride
- 1 half marathon run (pending knee health)
- 1 dualtholon (min 40k cycle, 10k run)

- Breathing exercises pre session every session
- No discord whilst grinding unless <2 tables
- Max 5 tournaments
- 40k hands average stake 750nl.

Glgl in June everyone.

Super sick advances on and off the tables, it's actually pretty nuts. 330km cycle and 45km is juiced.

Got nice secret breathing app built into my garmin watch. I've always failed horrifically at any warm up routine but this seems to work for me, just 2 mins of following the breathing patterns, definitely better than nothing.

Ask anyone though and they'll tell you I am a mental game GOD ye

Bit of a fitness goal complete:

Only ever broken 20 once before, even if I did cheat a bit with downhill start this time. Saw my own death, old lady had to check I was okay at the end.

Fantastic stuff, man.

I no longer play poker in any meaningful way but as we're of a similar age and started playing at around the same time I've always kept half an eye on your threads. Whatever the opposite of "there but for the grace of God go I" is, that's what I always feel when I look of your results, doubly so when I'm browsing from my godforsaken office.

Haha thanks man, I've been very lucky with the people I've met through the years, doubt I could be here alone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Failed basically everything this month goals wise but had some nice weather and more social stuff on, games died off for a bit so w/e. Played some 2k which is never a stake I imagined I would play ever before this year really, gotta shout out FourSixFour and mboifin for a) teaching me how to play well enough to risk these stakes and b) showing how possible it is to still climb the ladder.

That said still not totally comfortable with the idea of a 20-30bi 2k dswing, always been so overolled before that suddenly having 100 bis for a stake again makes me a bit more nervous. Think it's natural though and good to acknowledge it, going to just keep it to mostly 2 2k tables, 5 at lower stakes for a while, sacrificing a bit of EV to keep my sanity and reduce the chance of the extreme downswings. One thing I am v proud of this month is just playing the best games no matter the stake, sometimes was playing 200nl and 2knl at the same time.

Got v lucky to have the run bad at 500 I guess instead of my highest stake, but we'll take it, big boy games = bigger boy swings i guess;

And also as half way through the year, year to date:

Hard to know how much of this is COVID and how much is an actual change in the underlying signal. Probably a bit of both, changed a lot this year and bitB cash has been absolutely popping too which is a way bigger sample extrapolated from my process/ approach which I can probably put more weight on.

Hopefully the world opens up a bit and I can travel more and play less the rest of the year, but would be happy just establishing myself as a 1k reg and hopefully playing a bit more 2k through the next 6 months.

Glgl everyone
