I don't think Maxde had any ill intent but thanks anyway

Just quick bump to say that D7 and Psek are doing a podcast with BENABADBEAT at 6:30pm on our youtube channel

Should be a really good one, some spicy questions already in the mixer and Bena imo actually a super underrated player, has crushed midstakes for so many years and had a longevity which is somewhat rare in the poker community.

missing about 2k from untracked so just short of 20k overall, I think so ran very very well this month overall, especially at highest stakes which is always a blessing
Volume is obviously semi disgraceful for a full month, but was very ill for 1 week, had friends in Vienna for a week, and then had a stag do so not the worst for 2 weeks effective grinding.

Obviously these games are an unbelievable opportunity, feels like a positive black swan for sure and everything I've been doing for the last year, studying, practicing mental game, building bitb cash - a lot of the upside comes from the timelines in which a positive black swan occurs and I can leverage my skills to gain much higher EV than was previously possible.

So the plan next month is to go hard, make the most of it, keep pushing and supporting our students to play higher stakes and hopefully enjoy it at the same time.

Glgl in April everyone.

Ty for the feedback Frankie.

Also got nominated for the kick football in a bin corona challenge and managed this first try:

I SPECIFICALLY nominate SMBSMB, GazzyB, dontmarchrun, benabadbeat, pads, d7, makeboifin (1000/1) to try and get some form of ball into bin + anyone else who wants to try and break the quarantine monotony.

Vwp mate good to see you really cementing yourself at the mid to high stakes rather than 200. I guess 200 was a comfort zone thing?
Looking forward to following the progress.

I think the biggest thing for me was as soon as I got to 200 the $$$ after taxes was already so much more than anyone in my family was making, any of my friends making, that I just kinda felt like I'd made it and didn't have the push or belief that I could crush the higher stakes. And also having come from a nitty background, felt kind of degenerate too any time I even considered playing higher. I was also kind of young and just felt like I had enough money to do anything I wanted and didn't see the need to risk it in games I wasn't sure I was winning.

Obviously now at the grand age of 26 and having done a spell in the real world, I realise there is some net benefit to exceeding the $ cap you put on yourself by playing 200nl, and having seen my friends just completely crush it at the highest stakes probably helped with self belief a bit too. Hopefully can keep on moving up.

In other news, a friend completely destroyed my football bin attempt, check pads poker squad discord in our blog there for the video, insane stuff.

Poker is a breeding ground for complacency, given you have a bunch of young, relative wealthy guys making a living at home in their boxer shorts.

Good job for moving up and crushing so hard!

Blinds only get balanced when tables are started and closed before rec players join. When there is a 6max game with rec busting, you are not allowed to instant sitout, unless that entails leaving the table aswell. But when the rec leaves its free for all for sitting out and leaving and only thing that is supposed to get sorted is when it accidentally goes hu after this.
Hey,

Firstly, sorry to hijack your thread. I figure a lot of regs read this, perhaps some of which may know the definitive answer. Hopefully this can also clear up any confusion anyone else has.

When a table accidentally goes HU after the rec sits out and everyone is in a race to leave, is it against ToS to not play the BB after playing the SB? Personally, I always used to play the BB, however, lately I've been getting "grimmed" (not sure if it's fair to call it that?) a whole bunch via regs playing their SB and snap leaving the table. Now, I'm not sure what to do.

Does anyone know the definitive answer on this?

Hope you don't mind too much about the hijack

Thank you in advance!!

I don’t do it and call people out who do it to me. Some sites it’s against TOS.

always give btn back to those who started tables before fish joins.

as soon as fish leaves, never give btn back. even if it goes back to hu. thats the way its been for years.

i only give btn back to people i know. otherwise its a huge mess trying to track who gives it back to you or not and youre just ****ing yourself over giving it back to people

been reading through this thread at work lately. Really inspiring stuff PlasticElephant. I identify with what you said about not being a naturally talented poker player, I may have that wrong but something to that effect. I don't grasp things immediately and have to put in a lot of effort to understand some concepts.

I wish I could apply for BitB coaching but I'm on an app site and there's a 4 table cap so I wouldn't make the hand reqs but I wish you luck all the same!

On the grimming thing - I think when table breaks and you end up HU playing two hands is mandatory, and seems like that's the standard taken by most regs I play too. Honestly pretty rare to not get it back for me.

Hey man - yeah, keep at it, I've found everything you learn compounds and makes understanding the next topic easier in the long run.

I remember FourSixFour saying to me he thinks he's spent wayyyy longer in PIO than Linus but LL just understood the concepts and patterns a lot quicker (LL somehow also 1500 chess elo in two weeks so maybe just got some talent for games ).

On the flipside, I have another friend who thinks he just worked his way to highstakes by brute force working harder than all his opponents on study and review. So multiple ways to make it, I'm trying the brute force approach.

On the app thing, unfortunately we've just never got involved/ had any players in those games, the horror stories about RTA, collusion etc just too much for us to bother dealing with - although heard plenty of stories about how much money there is to be made there too.
