Hi,

- I'm going to make 500.000$ in 2013
- tracking progress in here
- posting hands, graphs and talking poker from time to time
- Going to start at 200NL and trying to play 5k by summer
- managed to make around 20k profit in 2012 starting at 2NL in March (hit a big down when I reached Highstakes and dropped back down to 100-200NL)
- hit another pretty big downswing in Dec (actually still stuck in it)
- took alot of lessons by excellent mid-highstakes coaches the last couple of months and just worked ****loads on my game
- became a coach myself
- playing 200/400NL right now. Trying to move up using a very strict 20stack shottaking BRM. I'm confident I can beat upper midstakes and maybe even highstakes atm
- playing on Stars/Party and some Eurosites / 2khands/day atleast - nicks are private

Not running too good. A couple stacks down, a couple stacks under EV. Probably around 60 under EV since Dec which I would consider my biggest down so far.

Pretty much the only hand worth posting

Didn't see too many checkraise bet jams in the last weeks so this one was kinda refreshing. From a gameplan perspective super fistsnap but I tend to become quiet weak in downswings so the river was a tough one for sure

H1 I knew he doesnt have KQ + had betsizing reads but he could be overbetting with better hands so i decided to shove

h2 was actually really interesting cause I was sort of betting for value and to induce. I knew this guy was going to checkraise turns and flops with most of his sets and probably call me down with any jack of his range since he perceives me to be very barrelly. On the other hand I knew he could turn jacks and worse into a bluff on the river but the vast majority of his checkraising range will have me beat. We were pretty deep so I thought he will probably not jam me but x/r something like 2.5-3.5x which leaves enough space for a bluff3bet as I won't be jamming anything but nutflushes OTR his callingrange should be pretty much 0% (we have nutflush blockers)

Anyways. Accepting and understanding variance is really tough for me as I'm almost broke by now. I've lost another 10 stacks under EV and gotta be 70 stacks or something now. I qqd alot about it on skype the last couple of days since it really seems unbeatable at the moment but I'll keep my head up and move down to 100NL now (think i have 2k$ left). If I drop below 1k$ I'll go and get a staking for 400NL but yea will try and rebuild. Swings in this game are huge and I really thought I've seen alot but actually some of my highstakesfriends dropped even more than me and if you look at giev's graph you can find 2 100BI swings which is pretty sick.

I'll start a new database. Kind of gives me a restart and more motivation to bump out a sick a winninggraph

Here's the graph since I started the thread

Ok, moved down to 100NL and started running good again for now. Haven't been there for a while but the regs play so weird there. Reminds me of me when I was playing 100NL
But whatever I don't want to play these stakes so I'm trying to get back to 400NL in the next 2-3 weeks.

I'll try to play a pretty loose BRM till I reach 1kNL I' probably be shotting with 15 stacks as soon as there's a fish. I think I have a solid edge on most regs there as I've played loads of them in the past already so it's pretty reasonable. Anyways here's the graph for now

Hi one of the coaches was Shootaa, who really is a topnotch player. Would recommend him to pretty everyone http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/members/46811/

The other guy was a friend of mine who playd up to skystakes but isn't offering coachings afaik.

About my coachingrate - I don't think I'm allowed to talk about anything coachingrelated aslong as I'm not a registered coach so I'm gonna wait for that. Also feel like I have to sort of prove myself first so yea I won't be offering coachings on 2+2 till I feel comfortable with my results again.

thanks for your reply!

yeah i know Shootaa is a very good coach/player,
have watched some of his vids on leggo.
but i think his rate might be too high for SSNL player?
(dont know whats his rate now though, just saw some information at his old blog posts)

have you read his "The Blue Book"?
do u think this book is still useful in today's online 6max nlh?

Hi I think shootaa's rate is 250$/hr at the moment.

Unfortunately I haven't bought the blue book but I thought about it for a while. Eventually I didn't buy it cause I was too busy reading The Mathematics of Poker (which is one of the best books around imo) and yea it wasn't in my budget at that point.

I'm fairly certain that his book is a good read and will be very helpful even in today's games but if I had to choose I would rather take a couple of lessons for the same price

Ty you too

Found out something ridiculous. I mean I used to play higher stakes so the rake wasn't really a big concern in my play but now that I dropped down to 100NL it actually became a problem. I play something like 33/24~~ and the price for that is unbelievable 11.5bb/100 in rake. That's so unreal lol. Especially completing the SB and such (I play about 70% of my range in SB - combination of limpfirst / completes /raise1st ) I make 0 profit with these moves cause whenever I get postflop I lose so much money due to the rake that it's close to impossible to be playing ranges that wide +EV out of position.

Going to tune down my BB/SB play a little as these are the positions that are effected most by the rake (small pots no cap and such)

I'm up around 7 stacks again. Haven't played that good though so most of it came from setups.

sweet one

Hi,

I think the biggest edge in poker comes from just working alot more than the others do. Being honest with yourself and think logical about everything you do.

Yea I "still" study.. Probably even more than I did before. It would be very closeminded to see studying as some sort of ending process as there is just so much more that people don't know about (especially in terms of maths and gto).

Umm, I do alot of pokertalk with friends. Reading some stuff like The Mathematics of Poker and such just as watching videos. Handanalysis and sessionreviews also are a big part. Trying to get ahead of other peoples play I do alot of mathematical and analytical stuff, trying to figure out optimal ranges in the most simplistic spots usually takes ages and is really hard and then again shows you how far poker is from optimum. There's alot more edge to generate than people think and the games are not even close to the slightest of dead

lol this one. The result of 3 Turbotables and 3 regs made the river happen. I think flop is fine. I assumed that BTN will bet close to 80% of his range on this Flop and SB seemed pretty good so far. I thought he's check/raising enough air to make call> fold.

I check some made flushes on the flop for the same reasoning and checkcall some Kx I guess.

Turn goes check check which is fairly standard. I don't know what on earth made me think he has enough QJ typish hands to make shoving > checking but it idd is bad. Not as bad as most people would think but yea it's bad.

I thought he might checkraise 88-99 some of the time too so yea it really is whatever. When turn goes check check I think that reduces the amount of flushes he has and again I might be slightly off here.

My jammingrange otr is sort of narrow anyways. It's not like I'm going to call flop with naked Ah ever but expecting him to fold flushes is obviously way too optimistic. Maybe a low set or so

its whatever jam is bad check is good

e: pretty important to say that we have set and nutflushblockers too
