I started playing poker in July of 2020 on some play money site, and I eventually started playing on ACR, and got third in one of my first couple of tournaments for $250. Of course, I became hooked after that and eventually went down to -$500. Around this time I started to take studying more seriously and ended up purchasing Upswing Poker. I continued to deposit $100 at a time until I eventually started making profit. I made my money back and then some and instantly thought I was a winning player until I started getting crushed in the $6.60 Hold 'em Turbo's on ACR. This taught me that I had a lot to learn, and that the MTT's are much softer. I feel like it probably isn't the best to have specific $/time goals in poker, but my goals at this point just revolve around getting better at poker and understanding the game at a more complex level. I still only play micro/low stakes, so I have a long way to go, but definitely feel myself getting better.
