i guess it's not THAT bad to call riv, and def not the worst station i made today it's just the first i saw quickly in HM2... but we just never win at 100z when calling river here imo esp with sizing
Re: Made it to z100 in 8 months, now aiming for z500 6 months from now
the sizing is like 60% pot.... it's a no brainer really, you can't fold this against any sort of "population" you could against a specific player with whom you'd have a very very solid read but otherwise it's just a call man
Preflop: Hero is BTN with A Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $3.50, CO folds, Hero raises to $9, 2 folds, MP raises to $40.50 and is all-in, Hero calls $31.50
Flop: ($82.50) A T 2 (2 players, 1 is all-in) Turn: ($82.50) 8 (2 players, 1 is all-in) River: ($82.50) 9 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $82.50 pot ($2.50 rake)
Final Board: A T 2 8 9
Hero showed A Q and lost (-$40.50 net)
MP showed A T and won $80 ($39.50 net)
looking at results tomorrow night, kinda eager to see what's up tbh
hopefully z200 before the end of october ? gl us
45.5k vpps on the month
Turn: ($12.48) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $7.90, Hero raises to $25.87, MP raises to $94.74 and is all-in, Hero calls $68.87
River: ($201.96) T (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $201.96 pot ($2.50 rake)
Final Board: 2 2 8 8 T
Hero showed 2 2 and won $199.46 ($99.23 net)
MP showed K K and lost (-$100.23 net)
46.2k vpps on the month
96k z100 hands, around 15k hands at z200 for the month
(i have not played 200 in a while now, might finally be time to go back wednesday )
Checking results tomorrow night after my sesh, challenge of not looking for a week almost complete if we've won 7 buy ins ev of z100 since the 19th, we're gonna take shots at 200 again yay !
Re: Made it to z100 in 8 months, now aiming for z500 6 months from now
Graph lovers, the graphs are back !
Pretty big update so settle in !!
First of all i really enjoyed the challenge of not looking at results for a week. first time doing it for so long and it was hard to hold myself back sometimes, especially some days in particular. didn't know at all what my graph for the week would look like before looking so it was a nice thrill, might try to do it again in the near future i think it helped me focus on A game a little more
so here's the week, not too bad, recent heater
secondly, reason for big post is because i reached 100k hands on the month at z100 today, reached z100 goal to hit 200, and i wanted to recap this stretch even though the month isn't over just yet for me pokerwise. I am not entirely satisfied with the results even though i really like the sample i've put in. i really think this thread(u guys are a good part of it) and my many hours of play have helped me a bunch on my game and such....
i don't like blaming external factors for my bad play but i have to say that the knee surgery i had that led to like 10 days of not going outside breathing some fresh hair, not training, not sleeping too well, etc probably have impacted a decent chunk of my breakeven stretch in those hands. Definitely could've helped myself a bit more imo but it's just a heads up that all those things are necessary when u're a grinder and get to spend so much time sat in front of a computer in a day. also it's even more important for me than it could be for a normal person cuz daily physical activity helps me control my sugar level as a type 1 diabetic so when i don't train or move daily at least a little, i'm often in a bad mood, fatigued, sleep bad, etc.
In good news, i can now train again, outside hockey rinks will come soon-ish and i'll be spending a little more time outside for this exact reason , plus i'll be able to play soccer/wallyball etc soon-ish... so this area should be fixed and hopefully it will help my poker game to stay B+ or better for the coming months
100k hands on the month, as i said not 100% satisfied with the results here but we did reach our 40 bi's ev goal at z100 so we'll be taking shots at 200 again soon
200z graph so far, haven't played much hands(like at all) there in a while because of 100z meh stretch and challenge of not looking at results this past week. it's w/e as it's a short sample but i've definitely got work to do there. Field is tough but i think we can do it
Results: $144.85 pot ($2.50 rake)
Final Board: 9 J K 6 9
Hero showed J K and won $142.35 ($73.61 net)
CO showed Q J and lost (-$68.74 net)
finally, i'd like to have a friend come over and sweat on my next 200 sesh so it might wait a little until he has time to come over. will keep putting up volume and updating thread as always. Goal would be to be well established at 200 at the end of 2016 so we can shot take 500 early-ish in 2017.
goal at 200 will be 20 buy ins ev before shoting 500, and if we lose 10 buy ins at 200 once we start shoting it for real, we'll go back to 100 to regrind it back. gl us
p.s. sample might go down since we probably will be 3tabling 200 instead of 4tabling.

Crazy ****, gratz!
Just started regrinding back from NL2z (dabbled a bit up to NL10z last year) and this is a nice inspiration
If I may ask, what do you use as main study material, apart from the sicko 500z friend?
tyty guys , glad u find it inspiring
yeah i'm really lucky to have great irl friends who have been playing zoom for a long time and help me with hands i have trouble it, sweat me, let me sweat them, etc. I think a good idea would be to make some poker friends through this forum or else, sweat each other and exchange on hands u're not sure about, etc. it surely has helped me a lot + posting hands on 2p2 in a pgc is always great so people can comment and help u when u're wrong about hands, etc.
main study i do is watch rio vids, review my stats, and when i have a hand i'm not sure about i save it on my pc and review it in depth afterwards getting through every streets and looking at what went wrong/how should i play it. also working on my mental game through vids online and books i bought.

very nice man. sick work ethic
Id probably play more 200z and establish myself a bit more before shotting 500, but thats me!
GL!
ty man, agreed about the 500 part but as i said i would like to shot 500 early-ish 2017 which still leaves me around 3 months of 200 before starting to ''shot'' 500, so over 200k hands most likely by shotting i mean hoping in the pool, proly 2tabling and checking the pool tendencies, testing the water, etc.
Anyways as i said when i started this thread my goal is to reach 500 six months after i started the challenge(so around march 2017). Mostly started it because i initially wanted to do 5z to 500z in a year but after seeing that 100 to 200 and 200 to 500 were such big steps in pool quality, i adjusted it to a year and 2 months... i think it's do-able and i'd really be happy if i could achieve it, at the worst i want to do it in a year and a half ! Also, bankroll isn't much of a stress for me and it wouldn't be aggro to even go now but i don't cuz i don't feel ready for the stake obv. And nothing stops me from coming back to 200 if anything goes wrong at 500 so why not I like being ambitious on my goals, it gets me going !

Re: Made it to z100 in 8 months, now aiming for z500 6 months from now
wwsf 38 over 3.5k hands seems a bit ridiculous, what is your usual wwsf at 100?
would prob fold TT vs tight zoom fish pre, and check shove turn with AA on monotone flop that bricked turn instead of betting, betting is still ok though, everything else looks fine

tyty, when i reviewed the hand with a friend we mostly agreed that i should've folded TT also... ty for reviewing !
wwsf is around 45 at 100, yeah 38 looks awful but i had very sick runouts and stuff i folded all day long lol rough sesh
Re: Made it to z100 in 8 months, now aiming for z500 6 months from now
today i wasn't able to put in our std volume... my sister announced that she was 2month pregnant through skype so it was all excitement and preparation towards what's coming in my family, added to sports betting for the weekend and all i couldn't put in a complete and steady sesh, anyways results were meh and ran kinda bad yet again so i didn't feel like playing hours that much today i guess.
another tough day at 200, something about shot taking and not running too good. it's really tough on the mind when u feel like u're playing well while shot taking but dumping previous stake buy ins left and right so fast. same thing happened to me when i started shoting 100 so i guess i've been there and know i can get through it but it's a mental challenge.
week is horrendous on the running under ev side, just sad it happens as we're shot taking... btw i was wondering if any of u have ever found a way to shut down the green line and $ results from ur hud and graphs and only show ev stuff in HM2 ? if anyone does, i'd like to know how thx.
so i'm going to try to end the month up at 200, see results and then go back into lockdown mode and grind away a complete week w/o looking at results either at 100 or 200 depending on results til end of the month. Monthly goal stays at 57k vpps. gl us
Preflop: Hero is MP with K K

Spoiler:
Results: $322 pot ($2.75 rake)
Final Board: 8 9 3 4 5
BB showed A A and won $319.25 ($158.75 net)
Hero showed K K and lost (-$160.50 net)
