Tyty, team get there!

Had a much better mindset and approach to my session today, found myself focusing on making the best decision in every hand no matter how the session was going. I think recently i've been wasting too much energy on the wrong things which haven't helped my game and my results. But, i've been working away from the tables on improving my mindset and it worked out well today, I made sure i didn't let any emotion enter my game and focused on decisions at all times, which worked well for me. It's just that easy right?

Managed a double ship in a few bowls, €5r 1.5k for $522 and the €10r 1.5k for $617, which was pretty nice. Didn't even think about where i was at the final table, just treated it like a 9 handed game and went from there, which made me a lot more relaxed and concentrated. Last week was definitely the last of my mental game issues and this month has been a huge learning curve for me and ultimately its going to work out for the better. Didn't have time to review today but will look at some hands in the morning before my session and then will do a 2-3 hour review session after my session. GL over the weekend everyone!

Unfortunately had internet problems over the last few days and have an engineer coming out on Thursday to hopefully fix the issues, really struggling without being able to grind at 6 days a week minimum. But, have plenty of time to look at a lot of hh and tournaments to see where im going wrong and how to improve, which is helpful. Will be raring to go on Thursday if everything is back up and running.

First session this week after internet issues, managed 3 final tables but couldnt get any of them done. Really pleased with my first session back, the way I played and the way I concentrated on making the best possible decision in every spot no matter how the session was going. Really starting to nail that down now and not letting any emotion creep into my game. Looking forward to getting out of the downswing this month and getting it going! Will be playing again in the morning and then doing a review on the night to make sure i'm on point with my game and working on everything that I need to be working on. Unfortunately i'll be missing sunday as i'm going to the Sunderland derby against Newcastle, should be a really sick game. GL over the weekend guys.

Had a lot of internet issues the last week or so have been kinda quiet on here. However, mainly making results in bowls but can't really much going in anything else, i've basically been ticking over waiting for some bigger scores to come through, which will hopefully come around soon. Working hard to try and get out of this hole at the moment and I definitely think i'll be out of it this month if I keep studying my game and putting in the hours. Tough to see everyone around me crushing and getting results when im struggling along in a bad patch, but it just motivates me every day to try and get where those guys are and follow in their footsteps. Hopefully that doesn't make me sound like a dick, im obviously delighted when they get results, but want to enjoy it with them by getting some of my own. GL over the weekend everyone and hopefully I have a lot to report.

Tyty, good luck too sir.

Had a relatively bad weekend, didn't feel great during both sessions in terms of headaches due to constantly being infront of a screen, which obviously resulted in me being less sharp. However, managed to pick up some results today for a winning session. Played relatively well I think, obviously some spots to go over as usual but feel like majority of the time I knew exactly where I was at in every hand and felt like I earned the run good I received. Managed 7 FT's on the day but unfortunately couldn't convert any of them which was disappointing. Notable scores:

2nd $27 2k Stars
4th $33 4k Stars
5th Big 33 Stars
5th $25 1.5k 888
9th $55 6k 888
6th $7 2k turbo 888
5th $3.50r 3.5k 888

Felt like I made one mistake in the $3.50r to bust, read my stack as 19bb when I actually had 24 and 3b jammed an utg open with 55, unfortunately BB woke up with TT. In regards to the others I think I busted in pretty straight forward spots, possibly a few opens I missed due to stack sizes at some of the ft's, but I can work on that and improve. Despite running pretty well all session, ran out of steam when it mattered, but it's nice to book a healthy winning session after a months downswing. Day off tomorrow to just review and refresh, hopefully i'm back on the up and can crush the rest of the week!

Managed to book another winning session today, long may it continue. The first few hours of the day were really rough, lost I don't know how many key flips etc, but managed to battle back and stay positive. I think if that was me a month ago, i'd lose faith and pretty much not be playing my A or B game at any point. However, i've worked a lot on mindset and not giving up, which helps a lot when things aren't going so well.

Anyway, FT'd the typhoon on 888 but unfrortunately came 9th after TT<KK for a decent stack. But, managed to ship the $4r 3k on 888 for around $900 and a 5th in a €5r 1.5k on iPoker, plus a bunch of other min cashes. Really happy with how i'm playing at the moment, making less errors day by day and really concentrated on playing the best I can every hand. Will be getting a review session in tonight and making sure i'm doing what I should be doing and getting back on the grind tomorrow for another winning session i hope!

Not a bad session today, managed to get 4 FT's but unfortunately couldn't close any of them out, which is becoming quite frustrating. Think it's mainly a mixture of pushing really thin edges and in some instances not taking some spots, additionally I haven't ran the best in recent final tables, but i'm trying not to let that be a factor and focus on improving wherever I can. However, another winning session which is always nice, reviewed all my marked hands from my session and went over 1 of my FT's from today. I think I could have took 1 or 2 open spots and 3bet spots, but overall was quite happy with how I played in one of them, will be reviewing the others tomorrow night. Hopefully I can manage to book a winning session on a sunday (unheard of for me). GL tomorrow guys, ship the world.

I haven't updated in a few days as i've been really busy with grinding, reviewing away from the tables and writing articles, there simply isn't enough time in the day ha. So, it's been a relatively quiet week, getting a lot of deep runs in the bowl tournaments, but just waiting for that big result that I definitely deserve at this point, but it will come. I've been working hard on improving my game and focusing on every decision when I'm playing, not giving up when things are going badly and I don't have any stacks, just simply battling for every pot. I think that's a big improvement in my game and is synonymous with my mindset change (although now and again will get frustrated, but nowhere near as much).

Today I had quite a few runs and managed to ship a $4r 3k on 888 for around $900, which was nice. I had a few other ft's but couldn't get the job done. I think the amount of ft's i've been getting is a good sign for my end game but is something I definitely need to work on. I find myself taking a few bad lines in short handed play that I really should be doing better with at the stage I'm at, but obviously that will get better with more reviewing and studying. I'm really happy at the moment with how i'm playing, my work rate and generally just with life. Hoping to pick up some more results and get some big scores, gl for the weekend guys!

Another winning session booked today, admittedly didn't play as long as I normally would but i've got a pretty bad cold which has been brewing for the last few days and felt really bad during the grind. However, still managed to make 3 FT's, a $33 2k, 5r 1.5k and 10r 1.5k, I think i got 5th in two of them but managed to ship the 10r for a nice winning session. Lately i've pretty much done well in all my lower buy in tournaments and struggling to get that bigger score that I need, but they are definitely just around the corner for me. I think i played ok overall today but didn't feel alert like usual, simply because of how ill I became throughout the session, I think I might have to have tomorrow off even though I hate missing more than 1 day a week. If i do have the day away to rest and get better, I will still try and get a review session in of a tournament or two and have a look at my late stage game and see how it's coming along. Hopefully I get better over tomorrow and will be back monday to grind.

Haha yeah I know you man, likewise in regards to your play, always a tough battle against you. Although, I don't see you much as I do play a morning schedule at the moment. But, ill be looking to add some more peak time sessions into my routine in the next few weeks and onwards. I think the fields are somewhat tougher in regards to the amount of regs on each table due to the sizes of the fields, but i'm getting used to them now and It's weird when I see an unknown player, especially in like Twister/Typhoon etc. GL also mate, will no doubt see you more in the next few weeks at the tables!

Started my session today after being ill over the weekend, but I really couldn't keep playing as I was feeling pretty light headed and generally quite grim. But i rested up for the rest of the day and will be good to go tomorrow and the rest of the week.

Considering this is essentially a blog, i've decided to get a few things off my chest that are effecting my mood at the moment and worry me a little. First of all, I've been playing for basically 1 year now under my backers and I think my game is the best it's ever been, granted I have a few bad spells due to issue that i'm slowly overcoming which is my mental game. But, i've been playing a year and i've barely done anything in Poker at the stakes i'm playing and considering how much my game has evolved, I kind of expected some better results for the work i'm putting in away from the tables. Obviously, Poker is a long game and its all about being around for years and being patient for those scores to come along, but I see so many regs that I feel like i'm miles ahead of and they seem to be picking up huge scores for fun, which is definitely disheartening. Now, that might sound selfish and a little bit pathetic but I think i personally think its just a competitive element of my personality and that i'm only happy if i'm doing really well and the people around me are doing well etc. I might not have worded that well as I do wish good luck to everyone I speak to on here and people I interact with on Twitter, but it's just the feeling of 'jeez, surely these results are going to come my way soon'. Also, these regs might be working hard away from the tables too and deserve their results, but it's just something that has affected me and worried me for a while now.

Secondly (this links into the first point also), I can confidently say that I never want to leave the Poker world unless i'm forced into doing so and definitely want to be around for as long as possible and make it to the top, obviously I have a long way to go. But, something that lately has worried me is basically just what the next few years holds for me, I mean I know it's really early for me in Poker but everyone around me in my group is getting their own place, travelling to live tournaments and planning trips to Vegas etc. But, I'm still living at home and pretty much don't have the financial status to do some of the things I want to do/aim to do and that's slightly worrying as the lack of bigger scores i've spoken about above are preventing me from getting anywhere. I understand that there are a lot of things I can do myself to improve and give myself better opportunities, e.g. play longer sessions, add more peak time sessions and do even more studying away from the tables, but it's just something I worry about for the near future. A lot of poker players are probably in the same boat as me and maybe i'm aiming too high too soon and possibly think i'm better than I am, i don't know. But, I definitely feel like i deserve a bit of a break and something to go my way in the near future. I apologise for the moan as people reading this will probably think i'm just a selfish kid who doesn't know how lucky he is to be playing a game for a living, but it's just something that's been in my head for a while and I needed to get it out. This definitely doesn't hinder my passion for the game and how motivated I am to succeed in Poker and improve on a daily basis, it's just some concerns I have like everyone else and hopefully I'll pick up some results and finally start making an impact at the stakes I'm playing.

P.S, i'm actually a nice guy despite what the above might portray me as.

Been a rather frustrating week as I've had a ton of deep runs and opportunities but have stuggled to close them out due to a few of my own mistakes but some pretty horrendous run outs in the late stages of tournaments.

Today I managed around 3 ft's and a bunch of deep finishes which I couldn't get there in. The first FT was a $33 2k on Stars, had a 2.5:1 CL going into HU but couldn't get much going at the beginning of it and the stacks soon got back to even. Unfortunately miss played a hand quite badly, planning to b/f with QT on AK6JK and ended up calling a raise on the river for stacks when I know im beat 100% of the time but couldn't find a fold, he obv has KJ. Something I need to work on is just sticking with a plan and my reads and never changing course, it definitely gets me into trouble and bad habits. The second FT was the $12 2.5k on 888, I also had a 5:1 3 handed against two huge fish, lost pretty much every all in during 3 handed to somehow bust 3rd, which was pretty hard to take. Last FT of the day was a 3.50r 3k on 888 where I finished 4th, battled all FT with a relatively short stack and 4 handed lost AT<A4 bvb and 22<A9 bvb to bust. I had other finishes such as 13th in a 8.80 2k turbo, 16th in $27 prog ko, 6th in $55 ko and 12th in a $27 2k. I don't want to be that guy that moans about everything (although it seems that way), but it's quite tough to take what happened to me today after been on a downswing for a few months, it really could have been a much better day for me but I shouldn't be moaning about a winning session.

So, I've finally come out of the downswing and managed to get a tiny bit of money behind me after today, which is a nice change. I'm pretty nitty with my money anyway and am always prepared for a downswing, so the money is a nice addition to everyday life. I'll be taking tomorrow off as I have a few jobs to do in the morning and help out at home somewhat, I always feel guilty on my backers for taking days off, I know it's healthy to take days off but when i've been in a downswing and not making them money, I feel like i've got to work harder for them and obviously myself. However, over the next month or so whilst everyone is planning for Vegas etc, I'll be putting in a lot more volume on and off the tables to try and keep improving and get some more scores behind me, I think i'm playing ok at the moment but can be playing a lot better. The good thing is, I've ran pretty bad at final tables lately, so when that run good kicks in, I should be picking up some pretty nice results. GL over the weekend guys.

Thanks buddy, you too!

So, I didn't update my March results in here as I was trying not too look at the downswing I was in and just focus on playing well etc, so i'll put March and April below.

March

April

As you can see pretty contrasting months, I kind of lost my way in March and thought too much about results which ultimately let my play down. But, definitely picked it up again last month, saying all this I still need to be putting in a ton more volume, aiming for 550-600 every month and even more to be honest. I definitely need to try and give myself the most opportunities I can to move my way up, as my April graph is pracitcally nothing compared to a lot of regs.

Couldn't get much going today, had a bunch of stacks early on in the session but just got absolutely destroyed in all ins, which is always sigh. Back to it again tomorrow and hopefully get some ships.

Haven't update for a while but it's been a relatively quiet week or so for me, struggling to pick up any momentum and generally just running bad in key spots (change the record i know, but it's true). This week i've made quite a lot of deep runs but have struggled to hold when needed and lost a lot of key CL spots, but shipped a few bowls to limit the damage to a small amount.

Played an off peak sunday session today and really struggled for the first like 5-6 hours to get any sort of sweats, kept losing huge all ins and a lot of coolers presented themselves which was frustrating but managed to battle the rest of the session and ship the early €50 on iPoker for €1.1k which was nice to get. It was quite a tough FT to be honest, all regs and it was a good battle, always nice to test myself against players im playing with pretty much everyday. Still plenty of work to be done for the rest of this month but nice to get a ship and hopefully it's the beginning of a heater for me. In regards to SCOOP, I personally don't see the value of taking huge shots in some of the toughest tournaments of the year and building a huge hole, probably a nitty approach but generally don't think i'm ready for it anyway considering i've only been playing properly for a year. Definitely something I might do next year and approach it differently but I think sticking to my same schedule with some of the low events and the odd high event will be enough. GL everyone else grinding SCOOP and hopefully i'll find some more results in the coming weeks!

I can see the March and April graphs didn't upload, I'll try again.

March

April

Not sure why that hadn't worked but hopefully that's fixed now. Yesterday was quite a sigh session for me despite it being a winning one, had so many deep runs but just couldn't hold/run well at the right times and made a few little mistakes at FT's which I will look at today to try and fix. I think on the day I managed a 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 5th and 8th which is obviously disappointing but I was happy with how I played overall, despite the few errors I need to fix. Unfortunately the session ended really badly as I was HU against huge fish, managed to get it in for 160bb of the 161bb in play with 99<Q6 but couldn't hold would have been nice to ship that one and especially for the $400 extra in progressive bounties. It almost felt like a losing session after that ending but we've picked it up the last few days and hopefully keep it going. Will be reviewing by myself today, looking at some marked hands, a tournament and do so work with ICM/Equilab etc, i think the math side of Poker is something I need to start learning to the unconscious level. GL guys.

Fairly decent session again today, had a bunch of stacks throughout the day and finally found a win with my last table in the €10r on iPoker, which was nice to get done. Also had a bunch of other close calls, 2nd in a $25 2k on FTP after losing HU to a pretty fishy opponent, should have closed it out but lost a flip when i had him down to 15bb and then he got the rub of the green. Also had a 4th in the early €50 on iPoker after playing a hand questionably due to a pretty wide defend off a 20bb stack, didn't end well for me and was probably a spot I didn't have to take. Had a 10th, 12th and 17th in the 27 prog ko also, after losing KK<QQ for the cl after guy opens 5x from MP, pretty sigh at that point but I guess i'd have taken a ship in anything after busting that.

Been pretty busy with the grind lately and reviewing away from the tables, amongst other things and feeling really good about it. Will be playing my first M-SCOOP event tomorrow which is the $109 prog ko, which should be fun.

Ah cool, well GL at the tables sir.

Not much to report from yesterdays session, found a couple of 4th's in some bowls and a few other runs but couldn't convert anything. Actually made a few mistakes at one of the FT's yesterday, one of which was a fairly light jam bvb 9bb eff, which i should have folded due to future ev in the tournament and it was generally just a fold in terms of nash jamming range. The other I believe was more of a close spot which wasn't necessarily a mistake either way I don't think, simply because I had a huge stack in comparison to the rest of the players and didn't feel like I needed to take a flip when I could have just grinded everyone else down. Anyway, after that bvb hand ended up being short from their and couldn't get much going. I also played the $109 SCOOP yesterday but was pretty card/spot dead in that from the off and then JJ<AK to bust, but not to worry, back on the grind today!
