I've never really felt the urge to create a blog about how I'm doing in Poker due to the fact that previous to this year I was just a fish who thought I was going places. But now, I actually think with the progression I'm making I can make a living at the game.

Around April last year I managed to get my first ever backing deal in a great stable with some great guys. I was playing at a fairly low buy in and standard at the time, so it was a huge opportunity for me to improve and take a shot at Poker. I graduated in August with a degree in Computer Science which has admittedly been put on the back burner whilst I pursue Poker. During the time of starting the backing deal and finishing the year I've moved up from micro/low stakes to Mid stakes and feel at home with everything I'm playing at the moment.

Year so far:

Admittedly, It isn't the best graph in the world but it took me a while to adapt to new strategies and a new way of thinking. Also, a lot of players might look at my graph and think I'm just a run of the mill bad reg who's doing the minimum to make money. This isn't the case at all, I believe I'm playing at a fairly high level, putting in a lot of work off the tables and staying ahead of the regs in the games I play. When joining the stake I realized how little I actually knew and a few problems with my mental state. I experience my first ever 4-5k downswing this year which was pretty rough for me as I wasn't aware this was standard in the game. But, my mental game is in check right now and everything is in order for me to improve and keep moving up the ladder.

Goals for 2015:
- Play a minimum of 500 games per month/Increase overall volume
- 2-3 reviews a week aside from review with backers
- Make top 1000 players on P5's (not a true measure of ability/profit, but tough to do)
- Start playing a few high stakes tournaments at the back end of the year
- Keep a positive attitude no matter what
- Keep making money, shock. (a set monetary goal isn't something I think is productive)

I think I've rambled on enough for now, I'll be making posts pretty much after every session on how I've done, how my game is improving and most likely some venting here and there. Comments and advice from anyone is welcomed and hopefully 2015 is a successful year!

Wasn't a losing sunday, mainly because I didn't play but one to go down in the record books. Will be back on the grind in the morning, hopefully finish the year strong!

Not the best day back on the felt, a lot of deep runs but couldn't make them count. 3rd in a $15 6max turbo 888 but only for $200, 9th in a €5r on ipoker and a bunch of top 20 finishes. Didn't play the best today but good to get back playing after 4 days off, hoping for better tomorrow!

Thanks man, appreciate it! Another frustrating session today, 4th in a 10r but only for €208 and yet again a lot of deep runs but couldn't convert. Considering playing tomorrow to finish the year on a high but not so sure yet, been a good year nonetheless and hope it continues into 2015!

Sigh day again unfortunately, running deep in a lot of tournaments but can't run good at the right times. Got 17th in 27 prog ko AQ<TT, 24th in mama said ko AK<AQ, 20th in a 10r AJ<KQ, 3rd in a €10 1k turbo for €144 and a few other 16-30th finishes. A fairly disappointing end to the year but loved every minute of it considering it was my first year playing for a living. Can't wait for 2015 to start, happy new year everyone!

First session of 2015 didn't go so well, 11th in Twister AJ<QQ for the chip lead which would have been a nice one to ship. Apart from that I couldn't really get much going, unfortunately closing in on a 2k downswing but that's basically 4-5 days buy ins which is nothing to worry about. Admittedly running pretty bad in general but going to do a review tonight to see if i can spot anything I'm doing wrong at the moment, then back to the grind tomorrow.

Tyty! Unfortunately not a great day again, not the best start to 2015 but still early. Got 4th in a 55 super KO on 888 but only for $185, it's an uber soft tournament but unfortunately only 1.25kgtd. Apart from that only one min cash and managed to lose some hilarious pots everywhere else.

I feel like I'm playing well but with how bad I'm running and the hands I'm walking into it feels like I'm making mistakes rather than running bad. Either way, I think slowing my game down and taking my time more will probably help me. I've fell a little into auto-pilot when it gets to later stages and seem to be in one gear the whole time. A review session with my backers will no doubt put me in check next week, also looking to do a review with a friend of mine who's much better than me, so I should be out of this frustrating spell soon enough. Probably going to play tomorrow despite hating sundays, gl with your sunday dreams everyone!

Didn't play much poker today, in the early stages of the flu which isn't ideal, so stopped registering fairly early into the session. However, managed to claw 3rd in $11r on Full Tilt for $600 which I'll take on a Sunday. Really needed something like that to give me some confidence heading into the week, hopefully the beginning of an upswing. Hope you all had a good Sunday grind, back to it in the morning.

Seemed to do everything possible to play badly today but managed to get 2nd in a $26 3k on Full Tilt for $570, unfortunately only covering my buy ins for the day. Thankfully having a day off tomorrow to re-group, having a review session with a friend and then one with my backers, definitely much needed. Hopefully get my head straight and start playing better on Wednesday and the rest of the week!

Unfortunately another rough day and dreadful start to the year. Seemed to play well after having tuesday off but just can't get anything going. Built up a lot of stacks in 4 or 5 tournaments but just lost huge flips or coolers when it mattered. The main one being in the $26 3k on Full Tilt, AK<KK in a 5bet pot for a 2:1 chip lead with 16 left, which hurt. Going to review some hands I played today and get back to it tomorrow. Staying positive at the moment and hoping it turns around soon and I start getting some results.

Much better session for me today, got 2nd in Twister for $1.4k. However, had a 3:1 chiplead to start HU and managed to get sucked out on twice when I had him at risk, I was initially disappointed with the result but I'm back on track. Had some deep runs in a lot of other tournaments too: 15th in a €10r 1.5k, 9th in a $55 1.25k, 9th in a €20 1k and around 50th in big 33 losing KK<AT.

Really pleased with how I played today, after a bad few sessions to start the week I've improved my play and staying a lot more focused in the session when things are going badly. Hoping to do another review tonight and look at some hands from throughout the day, then back on the grind tomorrow!

A day of close calls today, really struggled in the first hour of the session, found myself getting involved in huge pots, majority of which I couldn't really avoid. But after the first break, I started building a lot of stacks. Managed to get 4th in a $11 4k turbo for around $400, 17th in Twister, 17th in a €10r €1.5k, 23rd in a $12r, 10th in a €20 1k and 9th in a $11r $1.5k. A rather frustrating day considering I made a really small profit, If I can keep building stacks like I did today then results will fly in.

Reviewed a lot of hands tonight and feel like I'm playing really well but have a few leaks I definitely need to stay on top of at the moment, that and reviewing with friends now and again and I feel like some big results are going to come. GL for the weekend everyone!

Profitable day again today, which is always nice. However, could have been a really good day had I not lost AA<AK for CL at the final table of the twister early in the session. Kinda struggled from them to get any momentum but out of my last 4 tournaments I managed to recover the session with 4th in a $55 $1.25k and 4th in a €10r €1.5k for a small winning session.

Going to look over hands from my session and try and pick up on some leaks of mine to improve in tomorrow's grind. Looking forward to kicking back and watching the NFL tonight ready for tomorrow, GL for the sunday grind guys!
