Cheers boys v kind of you (Y)

Day 4

Good day today, got lucky a bit. Got a bit sloppy towards the end browsing facebook/whatsapp etc, but otherwise a very solid day.

Missed a bit of value here and there, but implemented a bunch of stuff I've learned recently in some nice small-medium pots that all rack up at the end of the day. Early days though!
Also hate this hideous HH format PT uses, does it have to be so unnecessarily long? At least they remember the actual sizings and holdings to be fair...

88 hand I'd go slight bigger ott and smaller otr, assuming he's a recreational.

Nice results, 16z pool is a fun one

Yeah agree in retrospect he's never folding A high flush draw, 4x or a J!

Dozens of espressos, lack of a shower and god-moding 2k hands later

Thought I played really well throughout, not that much spew and maximised value in tons of hands. Slackened up towards the end but overall a super solid day. Basically won every hand I did (and didn't) have the best hand in!

Got the max

Running like god aside, really enjoying the zoom grind. Not having to put up with the tediousness of being card dead, lack of dynamics with a single static table or comments about not playing hands really nice.

I'm 'rolled' for 25NL now so think I'll be moving there on Monday!

Thanks man! Bit stale at the moment but yeah not bad! Done a few rail bridges, my advice stick to tunnels

Day 4

Made absolute chunks today (ffs why does it have to be at NL25).

In general played pretty sloppy, a lot of forehead slapping check backs, bit of spew, and some spots where I could have made/lost less. That being said took a break for a bit when I was playing badly, implemented a lot of the new theory I've learned well and played ok.

Love zoom but definitely missing the live grind; thinking 1/1 at the G LSQ on the cards I think as a break! (No real live poker though yet for reals)

Thought about squeezing pre but Snowie likes flatting/folding in the SB vs a UTG open. Think I like my flop check-raise, turn sizing way too small, could/should have gotten the lot in on the river really.

Re: London (Online) 16NL-25NL Zoom Grind

Just saw this thread pop up on my phone! Gonna be another quality one I'm sure! Have to catch up on the live-grind one but since I post about once a month on 2+2 I saw the following hand and thought it was a good time to jump in. Been playing a tonne of low/mid-stakes fastforward for the party twitch stream recently and learnt a lot in the last few months.

PokerStars - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 109 BB
SB: 131.1 BB
BB: 123.8 BB
UTG: 100 BB
Hero (MP): 152.7 BB
CO: 101.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 2 A

UTG raises to 3 BB, Hero raises to 10 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls 7 BB

Flop: (21.5 BB, 2 players) 5 7 6
UTG checks, Hero bets 13.5 BB, UTG calls 13.5 BB

Turn: (48.5 BB, 2 players) Q
UTG checks, Hero bets 27.8 BB, UTG raises to 76.5 BB and is all-in, fold

UTG wins 99.4 BB

In UTG vs HJ if villain is unknown and there's no table reads I like a 3! bluffing range of A5-A4s 76s65s but if villain has folding tendencies I would certainly extend that to A5-2s and add in 45s and if they really like to fold I'll put in the rest of the A9-A6s and 97s 86s 75s 64s.

Can definitely get behind the A2s preflop anyway and I'd for sure have those in my default 3! range from CO vs UTG.

I would check behind on the flop to induce bets on the turn that I can call and prevent XR's when I have the NFD (unless I flop a straight draw plus NFD)

Go for a triple barrel when you have all the other flush draws and combo draws which the low suited cards will flop to fold out medium-strength pocket pairs by the river.

Sizing-wise I would set the bets up for a good sized river shove and think the flop bet is a bit too large, would go for 10-11bb rather than 13.5bb because we can get villain all-in with the smaller sizing if we want to by the river anyways.

Hope to catch up with you soon! GLGL

Re: London (Online) 16NL-25NL Zoom Grind

Day 5

1k hands and I had my first losing session so far in the challenge!

Similar to my last few sessions definitely played a bit on the sloppy side, but nevertheless my bet sizing was pretty sweet in some spots and got value I'd otherwise miss by just hammering the 80% button. Auto-piloted a lot and started to stray away from the Snowie ranges - going to turn off hot keys (right click fold) and see how that pans out.

Tbh should have called it a day at 500 hands in as have work tomorrow (its 1AM now) but there you go!

Pretty standard stuff, I do think I should have flatted the flop though (although think if I'm deep I prefer a raise). Either way I cant go too far wrong with this much equity, and I suppose I can take a free card off on the turn if he flats flop.

Current giraffe, if I get drunk Friday I might increase the minimum number of hands to 35k for the additional sweat!

Re: London (Online) 16NL-25NL Zoom Grind

Still been working on the challenge, just haven't been posting recently...graph to date

Overall I'm about 3k hands behind, but still think I can still make up the deficit pretty easily.

So far in the challenge I've run pretty well, but not bad! At the end though I don't particularly care so much about the results, but rather the learning experience I'm going to receive from putting in X thousand of hands.

I think I've learned about everything I need to from NL25 now, so going to hop on up to NL50 and see how I get on :O

Sunday Millions ticket still up for grabs if I don't make 25kby 17th September!

GL mate, 3k hands mightn't seem like a lot on paper, but finding those extra hours to get that volume in will be harder than you think! So get to work!

gl on the move up! Keep the momentum going . The one thing you can control is the volume, so make sure it happens.
