Allright, will make a small update. The month online has not been going well resultswise. Was up 3.5k ('bout three fiddy) and managed to drop it all back and then some. Meanwhile I'm down almost 1k euros live somehow too
On the positive side, playwise I feel like the month has been going really well and I'm quite enjoying the grind.
I went to play live again yesterday, there was this €60 phase to €550 concord millions (basically a phase to the thing I bluffed off in the last post
) and I fired 2 bullets and bricked. Thing was obviously supersoft and pretty fun.
Bustout hand (2nd bullet, starting hand with ~15k bb600 i think):
Four limpers (I think?) in front of me, I complete SB 9
5
Flop: A
K
8
(iirc)
Checks around
Turn: 2
I bet 1.8k I think into ~4.2k and get 4 snapcalls behind
River 3
I jam slightly over pot, get three snapfolds and lady last to act snaps my dick off with 4
5
Sizings etc might be slightly off but went sth like this. I bet turn smallish and think in hindsight I should've maybe sized up but in game it felt like kind of a waste since I know I'm not winning this pot ott and am just looking to make good river decisions. These people will not pay attention to sizings and I think I can pretty handily get away with betting my semibluffs way smaller than hands like Kx two pairs. River I was obviously looking to give up a ton but pretty quickly decided to pile the 3
since I block 45 and their calling ranges ott are just all over the place with every gutter, flushdraw, weak pair etc.. and their rivercalls being Ax+ with maaaybe a few herofolds of Ax of the players with 2/3 people behind since even to pretty callhappy people my valuerange looks very strong and it's not the easiest spot to bluffjam. Blocking 45 vs these players also seemed way more relevant than it would be vs other player types. Oh well, old lady coffee still had it
After that, me and ac3play put ourselves on the waitlist for 1/2NL but didn't get a seat for 15-20min while the whole time two whale looking types were waiting at a 2/2 PLO. So yeah eventually we oblige and indulge in the the the the the great game of pot limit omaha (you get four cards, never fold to 3bets and the most you can bet or raise is the size of a pot).
Some pretty fun hands there:
Open AcQh7hQx and get a few calls incl ac3 and old man whalereg who 'plays this game 12 hours a day'.
Flop AKJcc
Checks to me, I bet close to pot, ac3 folds and whalereg calls. I'm praying for a blank so I can bomb it.
Turn 8c
Whalereg leads. Blergh. I contemplate utilizing Ac somehow for 0.7seconds but think better of it vs this kinda guy and fold.
Not much later I open 99QTss (iirc) and get a couple of callers incl ac3.
Flop 478hhd
Ac3 bets, whalereg calls, I would normally fold here but oi and maybe can have some fun with the two nines.
Turn Tx (ding ding)
Checks to me, I bet pot, ac3 calls pretty quickly (gulp), whalereg folds
River honestly don't remember but complete blank, let's say 2c
Checks to me, I bluffjam my roomie otr in a supersoft game in like the first orbit
, he luckily finds a quick fold with 89hhxx (FISH!!!88) and I'm up a bit.
After that we start running normal and I get in AA56cc pre vs friendly polish fish AA99 and whalereg who refuses to show his hand
I ask dealer to wait with the flop and tell whalereg I really, really would like to sweat the runout and if he plz would turn over his hand. He's kinda pissed but obliges (yeye my bad but I wanna have fun too) and turns over sth like 5679 and we run it twice. Fish ships runout 1 and I chop with polish boss on the second.
Next big pot, the table has filled up a bit more now with all suuuperfishy looking people (confirmed all whales after a while) and I openlimp EP with A99Qddxx. asian lady who is a solid 6.6/10 overlimps, whalereg pots, think a call or two in between, I call, asian lady limp-repots
, whalereg calls, I'm thinking wth how bad can it be vs these two and call. Threeway pot:
Flop JTxdd
Asian lady pots, whalereg folds, I snapjam and say 'once or twice?'
She wants to run it twice but turns out we can't in <500eur pots so once it is. We flip over our hands and she has KQA2ddxx. She starts calling for a flush
Unfortunately her calls remain unanswered and we chop after Kx river.
I top up 100, so in for 300 now and I get involved in a hand where I'm all in vs one other guy on Kxx8cc and I have K8Q6cchh. I immediately just say 'top two and flushdraw' and flip over my hand. Old guy with glasses says oh i'm dead or sth like that and hums around randomly with his hand face down. River comes 9x and he says 'no magic for me, nope' and I'm just waiting to get the pot shipped. Then he says 'wait, maybe magic with the 9' and he turns over a 9. Then he flips up his remaining three cards slowly with the very last one being a K
I mumble something like 'i'm not gonna give you action here if you're gonna slowroll me' (was like on 6th beer, would like to think sober me would stfu in that spot but remained pretty friendly anyways, also doesn't make sense since I want their action
)
Then I spew off in this hand before leaving:
I have T97J with no spade and get into a raised pot with a couple of people including old man whalereg.
Flop comes 98Ass, he bets, people fold and I call oop.
Turn 6s
Now he bets tiny, like 35% pot which seemed really weird and weak to me. I mean I just have a snapfold normally but was really convinced he would bet his strong flushes way bigger and this would be a range of some 2p/sets (I know, seems ridic to bet those) and maybe some weaker flushes. Spewtard that I am, I call.
River 9x
I check, he bets again for a small sizing and I start tanking a bit. Now, if my read on the turn was good he just made a boat and I should fold. I think his river betting range should be most flushes, some boats and never a bluff. I look down at my 9 blocker and lack of spades again and decide to x/jam it for 175€ over 60€... Obviously quite spewy and abandoning my turn assumptions a bit seems reckless, but figured the blocker effects of the 9 + unblocking all spades should skew him heavily towards flushes and I was still convinced his strongest spades would bet bigger ott.
He snaps A9xx yeye
I mean, only have myself to blame for that one.
I get up and leave after that one and wish the good people of the great game good luck. -€420 for the 'trip'. Taking a more professional attitude towards live poker is definitely something I should work on. I get very talkative when I get comfortable at a table (not necessarily bad) and treat it like fun a bit too much, leading to some spews etc.. Don't think anything was too bad apart from the last hand though. Might be a while before I play live again but will set myself some goals when I do to improve on some of the live stuff. I think coming from online to play some casino donkament can often make you arrogant in your mind and you feel like you're just there to **** their **** up, but the truth is you better lock down and focus on everything (if you're there for ev, mostly i'm there for a mix of ev/fun which makes my approach not AS bad) if you wanna bring your A-game and there is a ton to learn wrt live poker even if players are technically horrible.
Well, back to the online shire, hope to not go busto before xmas.
