February results
Live games in my area picked up a bit so I got less volume online than I wanted. The good news is I am now in the black for the year for live results. I keep my online and live results separate.
Online February results.
I made $5250 with about $818 in rake back for a total profit of $6069.
Most of my volume came from 100nl 6 max with 5.21 EV/100. I havn't been tabling selecting much and I'm really starting to enjoy the reg battles there. Towards the end of the month I ended up having a two hour session where I didn't win a pot over 28bb. I ended up dropping 7 buy ins. I made a lot of mistakes but the important take away is that I don't feel like they were caused by tilt. In the past I would have lost a lot more due to tilt.
After doing a few session reviews I found out that I am always spewing stacks preflop because I am leveling myself vs regs. I think they are starting to 4bet lighter because I have been 3betting a lot or they opened lighter because a fish limped or was in the BB. Nope, when they 4bet they just have it most of the time. Sticking to the proper frequencies and putting less emphasis on leveling wars will save me a lot of $$$.
I've been running sims every night while I sleep and I have been reviewing some of the flop reports. I decided to change my flop strategy from lazy reg cbet 33% on all boards from any position to a mixed strategy. I know I am making a lot more mistakes especially with my range but I expected this. I just need to put in more time. My friend is making a spread sheet that should make this easier.
I've also been finding a lot of interesting things in pio that I never understood or thought about enough before. I've done simple things like compare tight range vs tight range against wide vs wide in 3 bet pots on the same boards. There is a lot of valuable things to be gained if you can figure out why pio does what it does. I know I am only starting to scratch the surface. I know this is just some of the basic things good regs have done years ago that my lazy ass just started. I got a lot of catching up to do.
My goal for March is to study and grind. I will be playing a little more 200nl but my main volume will be 100nl 6max. I played my first session of 200z last night because I wasn't sure how much time I would have. I just one tabled since there is only a 15 second time bank. I ran hot, caught some bluffs and made 4 buy ins. Feels good to start the month off right! Okay, done with the update, now back to the grind!
