Preface
Long time lurker and infrequent poster, this PGC has been a long time coming and for several reasons have constantly put it off. Mostly due to my lack of inconsistency of playing poker due to life commitments and how time to value efficient it would have been for myself. I am in general a very efficient learner and have a Bachelor of Science, which I am currently using to be working in a field I enjoy at the somewhat beginning of my career however in a position I am not that challenged by - which has been the majority of my focus since I began playing poker in mid 2014 among other things.

Poker Background
I really have only taken poker serious since about March of 2017 in terms of study and trying to move up in stakes (the time before that I mostly played only 2NL and 50c-1.50 sit and gos on stars). I think I also somewhat ruined poker for Australia with my beginning of learning the game coinciding strongly with the demise of regulated online poker in Australia. I was mostly a slight winner and followed good bankroll while shot taking very inefficiently and usually would just randomly decide to do a bigger MTT on a weekend or so which would set me back. I didn't do a large deal of study however being quite a pragmatic thinker I would generally think about things like blockers without knowing the term or counting combos or how it would really reduce an opponents range of hands. So from March to September I grinded from a hovering $200 roll up to about $1400 USD with quite aggressive bankroll management. Due to this being 'The End' of online Poker in Australia I was a MUCH better player come August/September than I was in March. I finished up playing 50NL and up to around 30 dollar MTTs offpeak times. I didn't really mind if I busted my roll during this time although used it to test so obviously didn't want to jump into anything too huge as I am not a huge risk taker in general.

I had played some live 1/2 during this time on a Wednesday (only time something other than 2/5 ran at my casino) however was breakeven throughout this time although miniscule sample size (only a few sessions and none since this sort of August era).
So come September I cashed out my roll and as that stood I was +1400 on my poker lifetime playing only recreationally. I went to Sydney about 2 weeks after Pokerstars withdrew from Australia and was already contemplating beginning to play some live due to my casino changing to a 1/3 (Max 200) 10%@15 and 5/5 (Max 500). Although obviously 67bb is not ideal the 1/2 max was 150 anyway. Obviously horrible structures but welcome to the Australian Casino Monopoly. So Having a whole weekend to myself apart from 1 interview I spent the weekend grinding the 2/3 in Sydney and started up properly recording results.

Where I am at now
I have since recorded all my live results and have gone from playing on ACR to Ignition (due to better quantity and *cough* quality of opponents). Any results I have from these are far too small for any sort of meaningful sample size and is largely why this will be a 'Boring' PGC. Because I will most likely not have a huge amount of volume and will also be (hopefully) trying to focus largely on study content. So with that I am opening an invitation to if anyone has a spot they find interesting or difficult hit me up - whether it be a PM or in thread. And I will look into it, not saying I will be better at the spot than you but will look into, in before challenging me.
I do not intend to ever play poker professionally, but love the mental and competitive components and want to play more at a higher level (of play) and think I am in a decent position to be doing so.

Goals
[To be continued]

I have sort of spontaneously after all this time finally started my PGC after putting it off because my Casino has finally altered the 1/3 structure to a 300 max game and after not playing for about a month figure it is a good time. I will continue with thread goals and possibly post some hand reviews after tonights session. Having not been a regular poster or thread creator feel free to chime in and have any input on what you would like to see or things I can improve on.

Hope to see some of you PGC locals posting because I feel as though I have followed and taken on so much of your advices without you knowing.

Goals for the thread
I'm not a huge fan of having financial goals in poker more so just assuring I am playing a winning strategy consistently.
Online My main goals will be to play 100k hands at 25NLz profitably, if above 4bb/100 I will move up to 50NLz, if I happen to have a large enough bankroll prior to 100k hands I may shot take early as well as maintaining 100k hands at 25NLz.
Live poker my main goals are to play on average at least 1 session a week most likely on a Friday or Saturday night (already play most of my time here). My long-term goals live is to be at least a 5bb/100 winner and I would assume I already am in the field I play in. My main focus will be to then focus on at least one 'typical spot' I encounter during my session and dive in. I will (hopefully) do this with your criticism on hands I post.

Reporting of Results
Not exactly sure how I will do this because I try not to focus on being results orientated while playing especially in the short term. But I think running totals are cool when following a PGC. Live I have separated my 1/3 200 cap results to the now 300 cap game. Online I will most likely update bb/100 and hand counts from HM2 from the start of this PGC.

First session Update

So I played my first session of the 100bb structured 1/3 last night, initial thoughts are that the game definitely played a lot deeper, and on most tables running from what I seen. This is awesome news because a lot of the time in this 50-200 game you will see a lot of players sitting at or below 50bb making a large portion of drawing hands unplayable.

I want to make it clear my field is probably if not the absolute nut weakest in the world. You will struggle to believe the types of things you see on a Friday or Saturday night. I have been on tables where players just jam blind for hours, or play 100/80/0 with all pot entrances being 8-12bb raises with close to any two. You will fold for 2 hours straight then pick up a hand UTG make it 25 and no one will notice and it will go 3-5 ways to the flop 75% of the time. So my live play is probably somewhat unorthodox and I typically play with a varied raise size because of how little anyone is paying attention.

Have quite a few hands from last night but I generally will prefer to post less in a session to help keep focus. As well as my plan to focus study on points to be improved on. I will tend to focus on hands that I was confused in during and am not 'happy' with whether I win or lose.

Table last night was incredibly Loose passive with almost all flops going 5 ways with almost no 3bets
Villain is 30yo WG and has limp called his entire range playing about 90/5/0. Have seen him limp call with hands as weak as j3o to AKss, not afraid to throw in $20 more with garbage. Villain is generally not sticky at all on flops and usually is continuing when he has a piece although beginning to get more aggressive towards the end of the night.

Two hands 1 villain
Hero in CO with QK (650) 4 limps to me utg utg2 mp1 and Villain in HJ (375 eff) I make it 25.
Goes 5 ways to the flop. bb utg mp1 check to Villain on a KJ2 board who makes it 60. I am at this point very wary but feel I can't fold just yet as I am still beating hands like AJ and any Kx he could show up with, losing to sets however I don't think he does this with many flush draws.
Heads up to an 8 Villain promptly checks before I attempt a steal as he slows on flush turn. Villain attempts to jam 190 ontop, accidentally string bets and is deemed a call.
Villain then snap jams a 9 river. promptly fold.
Wondering what you guys think about turning my top pair into a bluff on this turn. I have a good table image and opponent tends to over fold on scare cards. however is he ever really folding something like sets or 2p there?

Second hand with Villain

Please have your opinion on above hand prior to additional information, before this next hand I watched villain take almost the exact same pot jam on a k108 4o turn against an aggressive opponent for (reraising from 100 to 300 all in as a pot sized bet). He intentionally showed me his hand when he jammed sort of shrugging when opponent folded. Made me question my fold all the much more. this was only about 2 orbits after our hand and got me very skeptical.

Then this hand comes up about half an hour later, Villain and I are about 650 effective.
I hold KQ villain limps UTG, I make it 15. Mp2 (400) calls butt(200) calls and utg(650) calls.
4 ways to a flop of KQ7r UTG checks, I make it 30 folds to UTG who doesn't hesitate to make it 90.
I call to a turn 3. UTG now leads out for a 105. I call with the intention of calling all rivers except maybe an A.
River comes J and villain promptly jams it all in for about 450. Don't think theres any option here now but to call.
Villain tables Q9 and I scoop.

I rack up shortly after and have my first result for the blog.
In for 300 out for 1451, good to kick it off with a good result. Hope that my hand history isn't too hard to follow. Promise I will get better as I felt it was messy, will probably try to source a template from another thread for future HHs.

Good luck with your challenge! I just started grinding 25nl on Ignition recently too. We should have a competition on who can put in 100k hands the fastest.

Cheers man appreciate it. Have followed every page of your PGC have failed to have any input because somehow you've captivated a large majority of the best players on this board to advise you! As much as I would love to I don't think I could get even close to matching your volume as I work full time. My 50k to your 100k could be more interesting, I mean unless you don't think you could do twice the volume as a rec

Appreciate the input, definitely need the practice on writing HHs cause I failed to leave my bet size haha, I bet 70 on the turn and he then attempted to jam 190 ontop (260 total) which would see him all in. Which he string called the 70 and jammed river. I 100% agree a turn Jam is bad there. Am interested on your opinion on the bet and sizing I took. Sorry about that! I think checking is probably still better holding top pair q kicker in which I can then call a river bet. My thinking is if I bet 70 there he may not lead out the river which I then check back. And jf he jams (like he attempted to) I can get away.

Beginning of the the Online Grind
Seems like the blog rungood is real, I generally play short online sessions on weekdays, try to get in 1000 hands in or so. Played my first session since starting the blog last night, played just under 2 hours for 735 hands and amassed a ridiculous +$213.42. Woke up this morning feeling sick so have stocked up on meds and having the day off. Had a short hour session this morning which I am having a break from now -$81.07 after 404 hands. Will definitely kick up again. Only doing a short review now and will mostly likely post some interesting hands and a proper update at about 10k hands. Most of my spots so far have been super standard, I find there are huge opportunities to overbet for value on the river in the 25NLz pool for example when you turn a straight and put villain on a big hand 2pr+. I don't think many have the capacity to fold. Will most likely be something I try to exploit at this level. Am going to put some study into that this weekend.
Will try to be very transparent with my playing stats and %s etc and hope to get some feedback as while I have found what I do works for me I'm sure people here will be able to point out things for me to look at, although I already have quite a history of playing the whole goal of this PGC is to really focus on improving my edges.

I will try to get a graph or two up here when I have any type of sample size as I find people usually like shiny things rather than reading my ramble. I'll give you a preview though for 25NLz I am a huge blue line warrior.

Quick update

Have been sick the last three days so have not been updating, generally will only post updates/totals after I actually play some volume. Don't think I have ever been more keen to track and see where my progress is than now. Having always played on and off and not ever had clear defined goals I have lacked at keeping a lifetime graph due to inconsistency and sample. Haven't heard from 6bet since he challenged me to 25NL volume but I think my goal at the moment is definitely complete 50k hands and then do a big assessment of hands I have played and plug leaks. Then (assuming I don't have a 2k bankroll for 50NL shots) complete another 50k hands and see where I sit after 100k hands. Hopefully by that point I can start taking 50NL shots. Will most likely work off a 40 Buy in with 5 BI shot takes. Pretty conservative but am wanting to take this run a longer term thing. And am curious about win rates and certain stakes.

One of my biggest pet peeves about Live Poker is definitely germs. Am a pretty hygienic guy but can't believe how disgusting a casino is. People coughing or sneezing without covering their mouths, or using their hands only to then instantly use them on chips and cards. And lets not even talk about toilet breaks. Degens gotta degen I guess.

Am somewhere around 4.1k hands played online now and +220. Will do a proper update at 10k hands on the weekend with some HHs and vpip/pfr/3b stats. For anyone whos reading... haha

Post Weekend Update

Had a really busy weekend in the end and didn't get anywhere near the volume I wanted to. Just sat down for a bit of a session to find no one playing 25NLz in the pool so that's a bit annoying. Has ended up being a horrible time to start documenting progress but want to keep at it to keep me motivated. 6bet blew his online roll over the weekend so looks like I might even win the volume challenge. Will hopefully at least get over 10k hands this weekend. Peaked up at +$350 won the session after my last update and have ran and played pretty bad every session since. Feel I definitely tried to squeeze in volume when I could (and couldn't) which hasn't helped.

10k Hands Online Update

Ok so I may be almost a week late but I have finally gotten to 10k Hands, I think overall so far I have played either A or C- Grade of poker and think there are situations where I played while paying very little attention which I justify due to only 2 tabling. Either way I am pretty happy with my results and funnily enough whether it was subconsciously or due to really focusing on thin value rivers including overbets. Since I said I am a blue line warrior my red line has absolutely dominated. Sort of liking my game at the moment except running into weird hands in pots I open and then barrel and villains show up with QQ and KK which is just seems absurd. Picking out these spots is obviously very hard due to anonymity of villains.

I am unable to upload attachments so am unsure if this will work but here is my 10k hands in a graph
https://i.imgur.com/KiDWpOx.png

Current stats are:
bb/100 = 7.2 EVbb/100 = 10.84
VPIP = 24.6 PFR = 16.1 3bet 12.5 4bet = 10.3
Flop Cbet = 79.4 WTSD = 32.0

Obviously a bunch more important stats, think my PFR is a bit low and 4bet a bit high. Interestingly I am currently Negative bb/100 on KK and QQ while being a laughable small sample size I am going to look into some of these hands over the weekend as if this IS a leak. It is a huge one. I am quite positive on JJ, TT, 99 etc.

Think I will be putting in a live session this weekend, most likely tomorrow night which I am pretty keen for after my first run of the new 300 cap structure.

The Weekend "Grind"

Really didn't get in as much poker as I would have liked this weekend, in fact only played 500 hands of online for a -$60 session. However did get two small separate live sessions played one on Friday night and one on 'Sunday' which was more of a Saturday night but didn't sit down until 1am as I caught up with some mates prior to.

Friday session was really good, played for a total of 6 hours and made a profit of +$730. Feel I played my A game for this session although really didn't have many hard decisions. My only real 'play' was earl in the night OOTH below;

Villain is 30ish young asian girl reg who is very loose passive with her only move really being random shoves pre or post when she thinks shes really strong. pre is probably KK+ and flops would be TPTK. Overall very bad skill level.

Hero is in CO with K10dd UTG2 limps and LJ limps I make it 15, Villain calls on btn and lj calls.

Flop comes QT3r (52)
LJ checks, I make it 20, Btn Calls, LJ folds
Turn comes J (92)
I make it 45, btn calls
River is a brick, 2o and I bet 125 effectively putting btn all in.

Do we think this is a pretty good 3 barrel opportunity? Not sure if villain has much idea of my play style but I think I get huge amounts of respect for having a huge hand in these spots and villain would more than likely at least know I play few hands.

As for my Sunday morning session I only played for 3 and a half hours as it was a very irregular night where I caught up with some mates and put in a session after a few drinks. Was all but sober playing but really didn't take serious notes on this session. Had an interesting hand where I raised 10Jdd from LJ got like 6 callers, checked to LP on a KQ3r flop who bet 20 and it folded to me I called, turn bricked went check check and river was a J where I checked LP bet 15 and I made it 85 he snap folded. Love spots like this where through body language and obviously bet size/action nothing matters except that this is a spot where you must be finding spots to steal against weak opponents not used to seeing 'meaningful' river check raises from a competent opponent.

While I am aware it seems no one is following and are too concerned about where 6bet is I'm going to continue updating. Have recently reread through one of my first poker math books I bought "Poker Math that matters" By Owen Gaines and re engaging a lot more with LLSNL threads as I amp up the study. Really think I can be crushing Peak hours for 10bb/hr+ live and really enjoy getting to put in a session. And if for any other reason. The blog rungood is REAL.

Classic slow update - The recap

So I have been horrid at keeping this thread alive largely due to no outside input but thats probably what I get for saying its boring in the title! But the whole idea was to keep myself motivated and I plan to really try get more active again. I think I have had a pretty golden run since starting this which has led to me not having too many spots in sessions where I have stressed. Just going to do a quick recap and avoid HHs from all my sessions.

I have really not played much online because have been much more opting to squeeze in live play when possible with this new cap.

Since my last post I have played 5 live sessions totalling 23 hours
In chronological order from my last post I then had back to back losing sessions

1st session = -450 in 1hr 40min
Had a couple of drinks before this session with a mate although feel I still played pretty well. Mainly lost and packed up being in for 450 with about 300 effective where i opened 67s in late position and 3barrelled on a 7TT flop where I had bdfd, turn was 8s. Feel I have to barrel this turn after only 2 callers pre and 1 on the flop.
Bricked the river with a 4o and turned my hand into a bluff vs old asian who flatted and called down pre with JJ. Feel this is just about the only hand he could have when I think he had very few Ts.

2nd session = -200 in 6hr 30min
No real big hands here to note, think this was the worst session I played after being stuck pretty early. Just grinded back being in for 700 total and grinding back to 500.

Then after a bit of a dip in the last 3 sessions my biggest ever heater
3rd session = +1220 in 5hr 30min
4th session = +1360 in 7hr 30min
5th session = +1276 in 2hr 45min, my most recent Sunday afternoon session which I very rarely play.

Played Sunday due to our casino hosting an 'end of the month' tourney which brings in the bad regs. Will try to make this session more common and for longer in the future.
I have a few hands written down for all these sessions but am going to opt for 1 or 2 and put them on LLSNL. So 8 sessions into this thread live and up almosy 20 buy ins. Not going to complain. I think in my first 200hrs of live play this is my first really decent run good stretch and it feels good. Am giving myself a reality check to put in some more work as I am loving the payoff. Am going to play 2x$350 tournies in early September and most likely sell 30-50% action to some friends as while I can shot take i would prefer not. I would assume my ROI long term in these tournies would honeslty be 50-100% but much prefer cash due to the variance and 'reaching' the longterm in 200+ runner MTTs

To anyone following sorry about the slow updates going to try get back into it! I feel my game is as good as ever and am really trying to put in the hours when I can. Am tempted to put my first 200hr graph in winrate thread but probably just get shredded on sample size. Has aligned almost perfectly with my first first full year of focused live play though which is cool. Any online I have played since my last post have been of pretty poor quality and run bad where I was just trying to put in hours here and there but am much more focused on live. Am almost contemplating starting a new thread for purely live play.
Also am going 6betme hunting in about a months time so will update if I manage to sight him!

First well structured live tourney

Tonight I play my first ever 'big' buy in tournament with my previous largest being a $100+50 addon weekly. This will be a $350 buy in $100 going towards bounties. Super keen for the structure of this tournament as most Ive ever played struggled to last longer than 6 hours. This historically looks to be about 10 hours.

Have played two sessions live since my last update and very few online sessions. I think with the new bigger cap 1/3 live has just been way more attractive playing and while I learned to play online I do prefer the live aspects of poker so I am largely going to focus on live. Kind of considering doing a better structured pgc catered to live 1/3 that people might actually read. Motivation to post HHs has dwindled due to no replies. I generally spend a good deal of time post session analysing my own spots based off players anyway, although I highly value the input of 2p2 readers.

So my second most recent session I played for just over 6 hours and booked a +$115 win after being in for $600. Was a pretty card dead session which was a rude shock after my previous great sessions.

My most recent session I played for just over 7 hours and booked a loss of -$546. Had some pretty sick run bad this session losing two seperate pots being 80-20 in both scenarios and losing both pots for around ~$1500 with 1 card to come. Feel it had to come soon though as I hadnt had any of this negative variance since starting the blog.

Ill give 1 quick hand recap.
I am holding KQhh utg1 (650) at a pretty loose passive table. I open to my standard EP raise at this sort of table of 15. I get 2 callers in LJ (200eff) and CO(350eff) both villains are pretty close to OMCs except a little more spewy. Have been playing with CO all night and is very afraid of people have monsters. Almost always calls with monsters. LJ is always fit or fold.

Flop (49) comes 24Jh I cbet small here with two overs and to deny equity, this bet will also be working a large amount of the time against these Vs. Bet 20, LJ folds COcalls.
Turn has to be the best card in the deck here to continue my bluff
Turn (89) is the Ah giving me the nut flush and royal draw as well as being a great card to get this villain off any weak jx hands. I size up and bet 70 Villain is unhappy with the situation and puts in the call anyway.

River (229) comes a brick 7o and I figure Im not giving up here on what I think is a weak holding with not many Ax as I suspect villain wont often float flop except with exactly AJ or AK. I bet 225 effectively the rest of villains chips and villain tanks for quite some time. He then sigh calls throwing in 125. The dealer tells him it is 225 he actually tries to take back his chips but of course is told he has to leave them in as it is a call. I sigh and roll over KQhh and he shows QQ. Villain genuinely doesnt realise the bet size and says he would have folded.
Not sure if this is spewy but I think my reasoning was pretty spot on. Actually think my biggest mistake here is not just announcing all in although effectively making him. I generally always just bet more than villains stack than announce all in. But oh well. Was a pretty funny hand as it happened.

Going to just note that I am unlikely to continud playing much online for now and focus on live. I will also not be including my tourney results in with live results as it is rare I play a tourney (may split into tourney and cash results). Also am currently sitting on a perfect 200hrs of live play in close to exactly my first full year of playing 'semi professionally' although not sure I can say it with those hours.

Online results: about +$45 over 18000 hands
Live results: +$5045 over 54 hours
