Anyway....

What are you doing with other PP from the blinds when facing a 3b OOP? My thought was folding 22-55, calling 66-TT, and 4b JJ-AA
Yeah people don't overbet often enough imo.

It depends on a few factors. Stack size 3bet size the other players 3bet frequency the other players tendency to pay off large bets.

Had the open and 3bet been much larger I probably just fold. I want to have really good implied odds before I call a 3bet OOP with the original raiser still to act(15x+). I think I probably fold 22-66, call 77-JJ, and 4bet KK-AA, maybe 4bet or call QQ,AK probably 4bet.

If they fold everything that isn't a set, the explo would be to jam here ATC except hands that don't beat sets. If they fold top pair on the flop but go with it on the turn you incinerate money by jamming flop.

Yeah I should have 3bet smaller otf. Or call and lead the turn. Calling flop and checking turn would be a mistake I expect these guys to check back TPTK too much in this instance. But jamming was wrong especially since I had the Ace of hearts in my hand I shouldnt be too worried about any turn that isnt a face card or 3 or 8 maybe. The real mistake is I need to open larger preflop to bloat the pot a little more and make this hand easier to play OOP.

Hung out with my friend last night smoking weed and watching survivor. He harvested a few plants he grew on his balcony and is trying to make some hash with it. And he is also making some kind of weed tequilla. Looks gross. He told me that the gym he works at is closing so he's gonna be out of a job soon. He's also a personal trainer with a few clients. Anyway I told him I would stake him to play poker. He's pretty good I'm fairly certain with some tutelage that he should be a winner at the Commerce. So look out everyone the first of the Rick clones is going to be hitting the streets soon!

There was a freeroll tournament today for the platinum and elite players. 25k for plat and 50k for elite. I'm only platinum so I played in that tourney. 150 players final table made the money and the TDs were coming around and splashing the pot with 50 or 100 bucks every once in a while. Also high hand for the hour won 500 bucks. Right before I busted there were like 50 people left and the TD announced the next 10 people to bust get 50 bucks. So I busted. I was a short stack and looking to double up anyways so it was good timing. Had a fun time playing the tourney and hey I made 50 bucks so not bad.

Haha, no. I'm sure he'll find a job soon, he doesn't have any huge unexplainable gaps in his work history like me.

Hell yeah! Guerrilla tactics. Ambush warfare. Ricks coming out of the weeds with big moves and "all-ins". Gonna learn the hard way that when you call, you're behind. And when you fold, sometimes you got bluffed. And every time we stack a Brit from now on we're gonna shout 'Murica' and then talk about how last time the Brits came over we sent em packin'!

So, I've got a crazy friend. I haven't heard from him in a while so I decided to google his name and I found his twitter page. Wow.

If anyone is worried I'm sure the authorities have him on their radar/ in custody.

He's legitimately paranoid schizophrenic and bipolar. We've been friends since high school. He wasn't crazy then, in fact he was voted "Most likely to succeed" in our senior yearbook. Smart guy, lotta talent. We went to college together too. That's where I could definitely say that he started to change from my perspective. He would drink to the point of not just pissing himself, but ****ting himself. One time his roommate Adrian came home after the weekend and brought a group of us over to see the condition of the apartment. The room was turned over, furniture upside-down, feces smeared across the walls, a water bottle thrown into a wall and my drunk, passed-out friend laying on his side in his bed his face in a giant pile of vomit. Adrian said the funniest thing then when we all saw that, "I wasn't even surprised".

He told me that his dad taking him off the cross country team when he was 15 is why he went crazy. He would talk to me about 9/11 and try to convince me that it was an inside job and it's not that I think it is or isn't, I don't care. I unsuccessfully tried to impart that apathy to him by telling him it didn't matter who did 9/11 and that he should focus on trying to live a happy life. Health, wealth, personal relationships, etc. But he's a dog with a bone. And he's delusional to the point of being dangerous. My friend is psychotic not psychopathic. He can be talked down. But he has shared all sorts of crazy thoughts with me. At least he's open about his crazy thoughts instead of acting on them. For the most part. He got arrested 6 years ago for throwing a molotov cocktail into his parents house. Thats about the peak of crazy and dangerous. I still went to visit him in jail a few times. Somehow he only did a year or so in jail. They had initially charged him with terrorism or something and had him on 1.2 million bail. When I visited him he had a crazy beard cause they wouldn't let him shave and he was in the psych unit. He told me that he would sneak peanut butter snack packs back from the courthouse. He's a hard person to get along with but he's also fun to be around. I wonder where he is now. Prison? A mental hospital? I'll ask and find out.

I played pretty horribly yesterday. I punted one stack, tried to punt another but I got lucky.

Failed Punt

Villain UTG+1 (covers) TT
Hero BTN ($1465) QcQd

Villain opens to 35, Alex calls, I 3bet to 140, the small blind very loose player calls. Villain calls and Alex calls.

Flop ($570) T98ccx

Everyone checks to me. I go all-in 1325. Only villain calls.

Turn ($3220) J
River ($3220) blank thank god!

I'm almost certain that I'm terrible at poker. I need to keep playing to find out for sure.

I started staking my friend last night. He played the 300 game bought in for the minimum and only played for a couple hours. He won 500 bucks so good start. He said he doubled up right away with AK flopping an ace, then he had pocket threes and flopped quads and got paid off by pocket jacks. The very next hand he said he flopped a set of threes but lost to the same pocket jacks guy who rivered a flush. He's just visiting LA for the weekend so I gave him a couple thousand to play with down in San Diego. And I'm also going to be staking my other friend who lives in LA. Probably a terrible idea but I don't care and at my core I'm a degen gambler so having more of my bankroll in play certainly feels more exciting. And coaching my friends should help me improve my game, hopefully.

Oatmeal for breakfast and it's not even close. A bowl of oatmeal has ~150 calories and will keep you full for a long time. Lots of fiber and good carbs, protein and fat too. Oatmeal is cereal. Sugary cereals out of a cardboard box and with childish cartoon characters is garbage. Toast is terrible for you. Unless it's Ezekiel bread, bread is garbage inflammatory food.

Walk several miles a day in the morning and get as much sun as you can. Good luck.
I'm beginning to like you.

Not trolling, but I would assess that you seem mediocre at poker, albeit a small winner when factoring the jackpots that you (luckily) binked (which have to be included in the form of Rakeback winnings). If it was not for poker, would there not be another alternative then driving a bus again? I mean, given that you love hiking and camping (or at least in your van), does California not have good options in working in National parks, fighting fires etc., would these not be possible good alternatives for you?

Had an incident today. I'm sitting, turned, eating some pineapple, blocking the narrow space between tables. A douche-bag wearing a CAL hat says "excuse me" and then immediately bumps my elbow with his crotch and pushes past me to take the empty seat next to me. I'm pissed. I tell him next time to say excuse me and wait for me to move, not just push past me. Instead of simply saying "Ok, sorry" he tells me if I have a problem to call the floor. So I do and before the floor comes over he starts trying to rile me up by saying that I must be mad that I'm losing and a bad player. Ha! When the floor comes over he tries to explain his side of the story by starting off referring to me as "this idiot". The floor takes him aside and he has to go to a different table. Good. I ended up transferring to his table in the tournament a few hours later. I was mad dogging him the whole time and he didn't have the balls to look me in the face. If I see him at the casino again I'm going to make a beeline straight for him and remind him that he can't bump into people on purpose. Eff that clown.

If there were no repercussions I would beat the crap out of this jerk. Some people need to get punched in the face to set them straight. This guy is at the top of that list. And I'm on there too somewhere.

Something about another dude intentionally rubbing his junk on me makes me hopping angry seeing red ready to rock up and repeatedly smash my fist into that dude's face. Saying "excuse me" does not excuse you to do whatever the eff you want. You say "excuse me" after you accidentally bump into someone, not before you intentionally push them aside.

Quack Quack

Hero BTN (covers) 22
Connor MP (~1500) ?? British reg

Connor opens to 35 another player calls and I call.

Flop ($110) 532ddx

Connor bets 75 other guy folds and we raise to 210. Connor 3bets to 625 and I think about folding for half a second. Naw, gonna pay this off. I'm all-in. Connor snap calls, I show and ask "set?" he says "big draw".

Turn (~3k) Jc
River (~3k) 5

Murica!

Yeah I'm not great at poker, I'm like Doyle Brunson before he got cancer. I just need some cancer to unlock my innate abilities. Please God, I'm only joking!!!

My friend is a ranger. Maybe I could be Ranger Rick? Driving a bus ain't bad either.

Won a hundred bucks playing cash games for a few minutes then I played that stupid $240 jacked stack tournament they have. 50k starting chips 20 min levels, it was fun, but tournaments are just massively stupid waste of time. Obviously I busted. Going to play it again today I think.

All-in Pre vs Mr GazzyB123

Gary UTG (covers) KK
Rick UTG+1 (~1700) AA

Gary opens to 35 we raise to 115 Gary 4bets it to 360. I think for a little bit but I'm not really thinking, I know what I'm about to do. "All-in". Gary calls and we're off to the races. Bang! King on the flop and that's all she wrote. Nice hand Gary .

I need to put in more hours. Time to get serious.
