I berate colluders in front of the table hoping they leave....if they're nits. Out of 100 random asian couples, how many of them aren't spewing trunks of cash to every other seat at the table?

Yeah they weren't very good and obviously didn't understand what they were doing was wrong so we all just ultimately let it go and the floorman warned them what's up. I think they got the idea. But yeah there is so much blatant collusion at the casino. In smaller forms most of the time. People speaking in other languages about the game. Unless one of them has a hand I won't say anything, but out of hands they are certainly sharing reads, etc. And of course players are talking about how to play the other side of the table with their neighbors all the time. And recounting the action. Won't catch me doing anything like that. And then you have the regs who get up and tell other regs about the whale at the table. That whale has no idea the guy who just table changed already has reads on him and he is essentially being cheated. Not sure what/if I should do anything about it. My only thought is that I'm going to get better at poker and rise above. Also two brits playing yesterday right next to each other and one guy would basically telegraph he was folding oop. Not cool. Should I yell "collusion!" when regs softly collude like that or when they share reads etc? Should I make myself more of a pariah??

Tgiggity,

I think you're wrong here bud. It makes complete sense -- he didn't pay any taxes on it, and the second he reports it as stolen, he's going to have to pay taxes on that money despite it haven been stolen (maybe thats not true, but I'm sure thats what his concern would be). So he needs a very high recovery rate when he reports it to justify doing so.

You can report stolen cash as a deduction on your taxes, but I don't think its the full amount.

Anywho, the actual tax situation is irrelevant, it's about what he perceives it as, and he likely perceives that he'd have a decent chance of having to pay taxes, and a low chance of recovering the $

That's not to say that his story isn't bull****, but if it is real, it makes sense why he's not reporting it.

Yeah I see your point. And if it was about 10k I'd say that's a reasonable reaction, but this is 250k we're talking about. For that kind of money he should've gone to a tax attorney if he was concerned about tax implications. He said he hired multiple bounty hunters to look for the guy and offered a 20k reward to anyone who helps him recover the money. I'm not saying I don't believe any of it, I just think he's leaving stuff out. He said he had known the guy for months, been to his house several times, the guy was well known around the commerce, etc... seems like he would be easy for the police to catch if he reported it. Maybe he figured the 250k would be long gone by the time police could catch up to him, which isn't unreasonable.

I agree with the bolded, but you'd think someone who got robbed for 250k and who's willing to hire bounty hunters would also be willing to hire a tax attorney to see what options he has

He also mentioned losing 250k at baccarat around the same time, so maybe he's just an unlucky guy

Back down from an argument? He’s been having the same back and forth with Gazzy for months now.

Definitely backing down there.

I kind of still feel like I have a bone to pick with the British bully Gary Blackwood. He called me a liar then refused to accept my challenge to an MMA fight for money. He offered to buy me a beer, which I figured was the British way of apologizing, and then when I bring it up in real life he ignores me and then later says I "begged him" for a beer. Does anyone believe Gary the liar when he says I begged for a beer? Clearly he's making stuff up about me and impuning my honor. He has not retracted calling me a liar, he's doubled down every chance he's got. So I'll bring up Gary every chance I get and when he gets to the Commerce I'll tell every floor person and every player what a trash human being he is.

He could have just bought me that beer and then I'd let it go. But instead he tells everyone here I "begged" him for a beer and tries to continue to embarass me. He has no idea how to quietly back down and save face. I'm enjoying my righteous anger, it's fun. I feel happy knowing Gary is going to be here in a couple of weeks and I can put him on blast in real life.

Anyone can tell you whose met me in real life I got no business challenging people who claim to be 6'5" to an MMA fight. I'm tiny. But I know how bullies like Gary act when confronted. He is absolutely terrified. The absolute definition of a coward. No way would he ever agree to fight someone even half his size. What a wimp!

simplerick was in seat 8. i was in seat 9. he ordered some food "i'll have three orders of sliced pineapple please" then he table changed. i moved to seat 9 and a few minutes later i saw the food server coming with his order. i wondered if the server might confuse me for simple rick! if he had, i would have been deeply offended, humiliated, and strongly considered plastic surgery, working out, or at least a haircut and new wardrobe

Went for another hike yesterday morning and then played poker the rest of the day. I'm feeling good =D.

Win Instead of Chop

Hero BTN (~$1500) XX (Irrelevant)
Villain SB (covers) ??

Hero opens to 30 on the button and only villain calls.

Flop ($60) 652r

Both check.

Turn ($60) 3r

Both check.

River ($60) 4

Villain bets 55 and we say "call" playing the straight on board. Villain mucks his hand and the dealer slowly slides his cards into the muck and then pushes us the whole pot. No one at the table says anything (we were short handed).

I noticed about a week ago that I have 3 visible cavities so I went to the dentist today to take care of it. The dentist actually said I have really nice teeth. Which kinda surprised me. She said she wished her teeth were as good. Shouldn't a dentist have better teeth than a coffee drinking weed smoking bum? She's cute though and about my age. Do you guys think a medical professional would date a degen guy living in his van? Hmmmm...

Anyway I got x-rays and she put fillings in 3 cavities on the right side of my mouth and did a deep cleaning. Gonna go back on saturday to get the last cavity filled and the left side deep cleaned. Last time I went to the dentist was 5 years ago and I haven't had any problems until recently. I started drinking coffee regularly about a year ago. Guaranteed that's what caused the cavities. Dry mouth from coffee and weed combined. That and a lack of brushing with toothpaste and flossing. Gonna take better care of my teeth moving forward.

Bill is $1700 no insurance. If I had insurance I'm sure it would still be at least several hundred. What a racket!

Thank you. Will try to keep the updates coming but sometimes I just don't have anything interesting to report. Watching my grandmas cats for a couple weeks, playing lots of PUBG and smoking lots of weed. Like a loser. Or someone who is content.

Haha, thanks buddy. I'd prefer winning chips from someone else.

Yeah I'm sure vermin aka Mr Squeeze would have squeezed that spot. But I play bad and scared so I just called. The open size seemed a bit larger than normal so that's why I decided to just flat, I was worried about getting 4bet. Play bad and get lucky, that's my motto.

I don't think betting turn accomplishes much. Might as well turn my hand face up and say "Hey I've got AK". I think checking back the turn and betting the river induces a lot of bluffs. Just felt like playing it that way this time. I mix up my play a fair amount and would 3bet JJ and bet turn or flop with AK quite often in the same spot. Caro's law of loose wiring.

Thanks for the input =D. I love that my hand histories come across as drug fueled. That's hilarious. I must be really bad at poker.

How did you go from not squeezing preflop because you feared he has mostly bigger pairs to check jamming the flop?
