Not sure how someone with a history of substance abuse, homelessness, and clear gambling addiction can be said to be on a life long heater.

I really want to know more about the missing $1500. Iirc, you said in the Igniton thread that someone hacked your account and lost it playing blackjack. Any word on their investigation into the hacker?

i have no idea how someone could have logged into my account but i have used my laptop to play online poker at hotels and coffee shops which i wont do again. i can only imagine thats what i did wrong. and i called the bovada security team and they told me that someone was using my ip and they sounded very accusatory of me like i was lying to them and eventually i got into a heated conversation with the guy. i'm fine with not getting my money backi can understand that but the guy accusing me of lying about playing blackjack just pissed me off. and when i asked to speak to his supervisor to complain about him he said effectively that he wasn't accountable for bad customer service because he was security and then he hung up on me when i said maybe he didnt know what the word insinuate means because he claimed that was a personal insult. lol. so i called back and complained about "Josh" from security to another supervisor. eff that dude, tell me you guys arent giving me my money back because i got hacked on my end i can accept that. dont accuse me of playing blackjack lying about it and trying to get a refund. even if that is the case or its possible. like seriously i just got hacked for $1500 dont be a douschebag.

reminded me of the encounter with a nurse at olive view hospital when i had appendicitis when i was 23 and he asked what level of pain was i in from 0-10 and i said '9' and im not lying it was that bad ive never felt anything as bad, but i had a fairly stoic expression on and he just looked at me and i dont remember what he said but i could tell that he thought i was a displaying signs of wanting pain meds and he treated me like garbage. i was literally dying on the inside and would have died without surgery my appendix had microperforations and this nurse who is supposed to be compassionate was treating me with disdain. i wanted to strangle him. eff him.

anyway played 5/10 yesterday. i think i played well and 5/5 just seems kind of boring at the moment so im gonna be playing more 5/10. unless i start losing too much i guess. rungood!!!!

So I think I'm playing 5/10 now since 5/5 just seems kinda boring. First time playing 5/10 on Tuesday and I just ****** punted a stack. I raised preflop with 65ss and the sb 3bet and i called. Flop was A86dd, he cbet like 150 or so and I just said "all-in" ~$1400. He tanks for a few mins then calls (AQ wins). Duh. Whatever I rebuy. 20 minutes later or so another player sits down and the player who beat me is recounting the hand for him and I can hear the new player say about me "no he's not good, he's amazing, the second stack won't be easy". Ha! I'm sure they didn't realize I could hear across the table. Somehow hearing that took me right off tilt. I like knowing that at least one (probably more) person considers me to be a really talented poker player. I've heard other people tell me they were afraid of me before. Not that my ego needs it... Anyway a few minutes after the ****** punt I get 63hh raise preflop and flop J63cc against one opponent. I cbet-35 and he check raises to 155. I say "all-in" and he says "thats what i was afraid of" before calling another 1300 or so. He has J7cc but our hand somehow holds up. Lost another big pot later calling a raise on the flop and a big bet on the turn with 2 pair only to get sucked oout on a 3 outter and our opponent checked back after he hit it on the river...Whatever I feel good about the way the day turned out.

The next day I played really well imo, here's this hand.

Big Slick

Hero MP ($1500) - AKcc
Villain CO (covers) KQos

Hero opens for 35 and gets 2 callers

Flop ($110) Ks6s3x

Hero c-bets 60, villain calls

Turn ($230) Kh

Hero checks, Villain bets 150, and Hero????

Spoiler:
Of course Hero shoves all-in ~$1400, and KQ calls and loses.

Please comment on my massive overbet shoving. People don't bet enough/ go all in enough imo.

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick, but you really should rethink playing 5/10 just because you're bored of 5/5.

Why did you shove here? Were you bluffing? You realize J7cc (and everything else he calls off for 1300 into a pot of 200) was ahead of bottom 2p on the flop, right?

played poker with JJ De La Garza last night. he's the commentator on liveatthebike sometimes and hes a good player. nice guy. although he did 4bet AQos from the blinds in a spot where it was probably lighting money on fire. not a move i would make but who am i to judge?? would be cool if i could play on liveatthebike so im going to start playing at the bike some and try to see if i can talk to ryan feldman and get put in a lineup or something. ive tried making a reservation online but im pretty sure ive just got to show up and talk to some people to get put in a game sometime.

lol obv not bluffing. and his calling range is a lot of jacks ( i just shoved bottom pair about 10 minutes ago and i look like a punter). jack ten probably calls. i realize J7cc is a favorite vs my hand. thanks for the advice

PS just because you never get called by worse doesnt mean a shove is wrong necessarily.

J10 probably calls? Does j10 even raise your cbet? And if he does, he really calls? Wow. Idk how you've found a 5/10 game where people will put 1.5k into a $75 pot with top pair no kicker and no draw, but keep playing there and don't tell anyone about it imo

did you not see the hand i posted where i punted off 1.5k with bottom pair??? do you not think players at ANY table would adjust?

I'm playing in a game where a player has punted off with bottom pair everywhere I go....My table is always the action table.....

Well, I tried. Guess I'll just grab some popcorn and watch

Out of curiousity, do you wear a shirt that says "I stack off with bottom pair"? Might save you money, because when you encounter a new player you can just point at the shirt. Otherwise changing tables becomes really expensive I imagine

no i just punt another buy-in as soon as i sit down. its my favorite strategy.

also stacking off implies calling with bottom pair. im not that bad, im a punter!

Thanks buddy. I'm a talented degen, if I can just keep my nose to the grindstone amazing things might happen.

Another Punt

Hero UTG+2 ($1425)4h4d
Villain UTG+1(covers) Kh7h - MAAW

Villain limps, I limp, player on my left makes it 50. Both blinds call, Villain calls, we call.

Flop ($250) 7x3x3h

Everyone checks

Turn ($250) Qh

Everyone checks

River ($250) 2h
Sb bets 75, BB calls, villain calls.

I think that jamming here just looks supper nutted(maybe not whatever) and should take down the $475 thats out there. No guts no glory! "All-in"

Fold, fold, Asain woman villain thinks for a couple minutes then decides to call. When she sees my hand she decides winning the hand isn't enough and she starts giving me a speech about how she knew it was a bluff blah blah blah. I interrupt her and tell her I don't need the lesson yada yada. She then starts speaking in Chinese to another player at the table I'm assuming the same crap it seems like so I tell here "English only at the table". She says "I'm not in a hand though" "I don't care, English only". I'm calling out all instances of poor etiquette unless the player is a complete fish.

results 4/8: +$515

In spite of my punting off a stack to start off the day, I still finished a winner.

It's a question of relativity. Some will think you are broke some will not think you are. But you aren't so broke that you need to live in your car and that's why you are not living in your car and that is a lie.

i dont think im broke. i have more money than 90% of Americans. im not living in my car but im certainly sleeping in it. i dont have to, but i can't rent an apartment without proof of income, and i dont want to live with anyone else or ask anyone else for help. when my mom asked if there was anything she could do to help me i asked if she would be willing to help me get an apartment by co-signing for it and she said "i'll think about it". so that upset me that she wasnt willing to go out on a limb to help me. and my dad died when i was 13. everyone i know has their own concerns and are a bunch of broke ass clods. i don't really like anyone in my life right now. it sucks.

so yeah i can afford to sleep at the crowne plaza hotel or any other hotel nearby and ive stayed at the travelodge down the street. but i dont currently have a residence and i do sleep in my car most nights (like last night) and i will update this thread once that changes. im strongly considering just staying at the travelodge since ive moved up to 5/10 and im certain im going to be killing it.

how much money in savings would i need to lease an apartment for 1 year without proof of income? 3 years rent? ill make that in the next 2 months....

Still kicking ass and taking names. I played with a dude yesterday with a bunch of tattoos, including three words tattooed on the insides of separate fingers, 'straight', 'edge', and 'vegan'. LOL. I mean that is not something I would want to advertise to the world on my skin. I'm gonna tattoo 'drug-using' 'meat-eater' on my fingers but not in nice fancy cursive like his but rough jagged lines done by myself with a home tattoo that looks like a ****** did it. Bloody and infected.

Playing in the 5/10 games now I'm right next to the $40 buy-in tables. Which is hilarious. In case you don't know the Commerce Casino has a bunch of tables with a buy-in of $40 and blinds of $1-2. You can rebuy for $60 if you bust. I've never played but the players over there are all a bunch of lottery ticket buying losers in my eyes. Trying to win in a game with those blinds, that buy in, and rake, is ******ed. What's funny to me is I see a bunch of faces over there that I recognize from playing in the $200, $300-$500, and $1500 buy in tables. Like talk about regression. I've seen a woman double up over $1k in 5/10 and then get up to play the $40 table....wtf??? Lock up that win I guess. These players are just there to have fun. I'm there to win and get better.

Another class of player is the $300-$500 reg/pro. Because there are definitely a group of players that are deriving an income or are at least profitable at 5/5 games that imo if they moved up to 5/10 they would be making more money. Why are they still playing 5/5? Fear. Bankroll concerns maybe, but even that is based in fear. They were there before me and they are going to stay there now that I've moved on. Maybe indefinitely.
Some people just cannot handle the swings involved in higher stakes, but as I see it, that just goes with the territory. And I have enough confidence in my own game to move up in stakes.

I sincerely believe I'm going to be viewed as one of the best players. Period. I love playing deep stack poker against these good players. I put my thinking cap on and KABLAM!
