I'd like to pretend like my stellar results in the thousandaire is the result of some next level skill on my part. And certainly I think I play really well in most tournaments and especially satellites. But the reality is the players in the thousandaire play waaaay worse than any other tournament. I have no idea why. Case in point.

Early Triple Up

Hero BTN (2490) JJ
Villain 1 CO (2599) 65os
Villain 2 BB (2500) 92os

Blinds 10/20 no ante

Villain 1 opens to 100 and we just call and big blind calls.

Flop (310) 986r

Villain 2 leads for 233, villain 1 calls, we jam for 2390 and they both call. We hold and triple up.

The thousandaire is so nerve-wracking but fun at the same time.

Definitely jamming river in a spot like this where we have value and their value can’t really click fold

I think it strengthens their range when they leave a little like that in this spot, but that nuance shouldn’t affect our decision w this particular combo imo
Hmm you really think fold turn here with AJ? I guess maybe. Just feels like I shouldn't give up that easily and vs. half pot sizing. I don't know. Sometimes you just gotta pay people off right?

Yeah that's probably right. Or I could go even smaller on the flop maybe like 1/6 pot instead of 1/3 but checking back is good too.

SPR over 30 otf and you’re four ways.

In addition, 5-4-2hhx is a board that will give limpers and overlimpers more nutted hands than over 90% of other possible boards

Well I'm glad you guys agree with me on this at least. I try not to make a habit of folding boats but I folded this one. And of course big blind has 95os for random spew and UTG has 87hh for a mediocre flush. Oh well.

I’m a big fan of the call button and I enjoy clicking call everywhere as much as we can rationalize- just not in those spots imo

That was quick, out in 8th TT<A7 for $1100 plus the $500 in bounties. Can't complain.

Bad Beat Bonus

Hero UTG+1 ($195) KK
Villain BB (covers) AA

Utg limps hero raises to $8 HJ calls BB 3bets to $37 utg folds we call and HJ folds.

Flop ($83) AK7ccx

Villain bets $34 and we call.

Turn ($151) Ax

We both check.

River ($151) Kx

Villain bets $55 and I actually consider just calling lol but of course I jam here for $69 more and get called and lose to quads. But the hand at least qualifies for a bad beat bonus on Ignition. So I should get my money back. If this hand happened at Commerce though it would be a super jackpot at the right hours and would be worth 60k+. 100bb bonus seems a little small in comparison.

3bet River Bluff

Hero BB ($196) KJss
Villain UTG+2 (covers) ??

Villain opens to $5 and we call.

Flop ($10.45) QT4dcc

We check and villain bets $3.80 and we call.

Turn ($17.67) 7d

We both check.

River ($17.67) 5x

We bet $8 and villain raises to $33.25 and we jam in his face for $187.20 total and villain timebanks down to a few seconds and folds. What do you guys think, is this a good bluff or just lucky to have worked? Also this player had an aggro factor of 60 so that factored in my decision to shove.

Sigh, out in 9th JJ<88 all in pre. Would have been 2nd in chips if JJ holds.

Got the bad beat bonus added that's cool. Sometimes the email support at Ignition are incompetent so it often takes multiple attempts to get anything done. It's clearly outsourced to some country that doesn't speak English very well.

Thank you so much for bringing in our attention, the bonus has been added it.
Playing a bunch of tourneys today and firing clips of bullets if needed. Sundays are fun but I wish they had more $100+ tourneys. There's only a few even on Sunday. Maybe I should check out ACR.

But of course I can't fold premium hands either. Getting 3 final tables in 2 days isn't bad though. I can never complain about a bad beat unless and until it's worth 40k+. Because I won Q3vsQ8 on Q642 board for all my chips when I won the monthly milly.

Turn ($50.35) Tc

Sigh, just finished 11th in the $1055 PKO for $2400. So close but so far away. Sucks too because there was a few players shorter than me so I was on track to make the final table. I jammed 10bb on the button with AQos and get called by BB K5os. Crappy ass call on his part especially since I hadn't collected any bounties. Would have had an average stack going into the final table. Probably close to 10k in equity for that pot. Oh well.

Played an interesting hand yesterday. A hand I'm sure very few people will agree with me on. So yesterday with I believe about 16 people left in the tournament I folded AK preflop. UTG+1 jams all-in for about 18bb. He has a preflop raise percentage of 8. So he's been playing very tight so far and then he just open jams from early position. And most of the table has him covered. I'm next to act or maybe UTG+3 and looking at AKos with a 12bb stack. Before I saw the jam I'm thinking I'm jamming no matter what. But then I had to pause and think about the hand for a second and try to consider this guys range. The real question is does he shove anything less than AK? Is this ever AQ or worse? And I don't think it is. I really think his range is TT+,AK. And if I'm correct that that's his range then calling it off with AK is going to be an ICM mistake at this stage of the tournament. So I fold. Also there are still a handful of people left to act after me so I could be in bad shape if someone else calls behind. I think I need QQ+ to call here. And even though I would normally discount some combos of AA and KK since he just open jammed I have seen people do that with those hands often enough to know some people just jam those hands. Anyway I'll download the hand history in a day or two and post what he had. Hopefully I don't look like an idiot.

seems okay given your read I guess, but I know it's still pretty reasonable to go for the 50-50 and try to increase stack depth, but being 2nd to act or whatever kind of sucks

We'll see if it was smart or not. And given ICM 50/50 is very -EV in this spot. I'd need to know I was a 60% favorite to want to call it off in that spot. And AKos vs TT+,AK we are significantly less than 50/50. If we had fold equity we can obviously jam weaker hands. Most likely the dude probably also had AK. If he ends up having AQ or something worse I'm gonna feel kind of dumb but I think calling in that spot is torching money. If positions were different like he was the hijack and I was the big blind I'm almost certainly calling but both of us being early position makes it pretty sketchy. We can both have AK and get called by a big stack with QQ. Or he can have QQ I call with AK and someone else calls with AK. I'm pretty sure QQ+ is a good call and fold the rest in that spot.
