There is no worse faux pas at the poker table, in my humble opinion, than to talk about being a professional poker player. Two players on my left, young UK reg and young asian woman kept talking about blah blah blah playing poker professionally. It was so annoying to listen to. I certainly wasn't impressed. In fact I went to get some earbuds from the store to block out some of the noise. Talking about poker at all, strategy, hands, going pro, etc, at the poker table just seems so dull to me. Broaden your horizons people!

I have a tough time relating to other people. Sometimes I think I might be borderline. Borderline what? I don't know, but I do know I'm on the border of something. Or maybe I'm on the spectrum. Whatever that means. When I'm sober I feel like getting high and when I'm high I want to be sober. I just don't feel very comfortable in my own skin sometimes.

Being irritated by lightweight ‘pros’ jargon-ing up the table is not a sign of being on the spectrum, it’s a normal reaction.

This is fair. No. 1 rule of anything is not sitting there discussing strat stuff. I can’t figure out why people do this? Like, keep the rec players intrigued! Let them talk strat living out of my car in los angeles....living out of my car in los angeles..... I’m also pretty much a rec guy tho

Then eventually once the cult becomes large enough that's when I tell them that I'm the only one allowed to sleep with the women and all the men have to be celibate. God's will. Also I think we should call it something else. Like a tribe. Because obviously cult has a lot of negative connotations, but we're gonna be a tight knit group of people working together towards one goal: the spread of my DNA. So who wants to be an elder in my tribe?

Because ultimately I think that Genghis Khan is a winner. I mean like some really high percentage of the world has his DNA right? I don't want to kill half the world though, just bone half...

Thoughts?

Yeah I like that term lightweight pros because all I could think is how a good player wouldn't talk about that crap. Yeah I really hate when players use complicated poker jargon. Makes me want to pull out the triple range merge on them because I almost guarantee none of them have heard of that play.

The problem is it's the breakeven players making everyone's experience worse generally.

Never understood this or getting mad at players for making a bad call and sucking out. It's silly.

Played 5/5 at the Bike today trying to run into fellow 2p2er tellypl and maybe pick a fight. Not sure what he looks like though. I need to play at different casinos more just because I think I have a bigger advantage being an unknown. I'm able to figure out my opponents faster than they figure me out.

Yo rich, I was there a bit on the earlier side. Looked around but didn’t see you in the games.

I’ll be at HPC around 9:00 with a long sleeve college shirt and swim trunks lol. Ran out of clothes for the trip

So last night at the Bike there was a player at the table talking about his ex-girlfriend who works on the news or something like that. And then he goes on to say that he ended up doing "8 years in jail for her". And all I could think is 'for her'? Lol what did you do 'for her' that caused you to do 8 years in jail. I almost asked him, "What did you do 'for her' that got you 8 years?" Just because it's almost a given that he did 8 years for doing something to her and he's a pos who can't even accept responsibility for his actions. My guess is some sort of battery with serious bodily harm. Stabbing. I can't imagine why else he would do 8 years, that's a long stretch. Of course he could have done 8 years 'for her' if he was a thief perhaps stealing to support her luxurious lifestyle. Even if that was the case saying he did 8 years 'for her' is totally not accepting responsibility for whatever crime he committed. The mental gymnastics some people do to always be right is amazing. I have to be careful not to be so unaware.

LOL, it’s probably bad that my immediate assumption is that she was 13 years old when she told her parents about her new BF and SHTF.

Lol yeah I don't know that might say more about you. Maybe you've seen a similar situation happen to a friend or something? Because I immediately thought of my friend stabbing his girlfriend and going to jail for that so that's why I assumed it was that.

Cult leader,

There are no guilty people in prison. It makes sense a degen at poker also thinks this way.

Yeah I forgot about that.

And you can simply refer to me as Rick or Rich, our cult doesn't recognize formal titles. Welcome brother

OK.

Maybe stop jerking off in your car, get a job, tidy yourself up and get a woman the normal way like most folks do.

Just my thoughts.

I'm aware that I'm capable of lying to myself and cognitive dissonance. What about you PhilMeUp? Are you impervious to that?

I've done a lot of bad things in my life. Hurt people with my words and with my fists and burned bridges in my life to the point I'm living in my car presently.

I need to try to be more observant and present in my thoughts and actions. I am not a human being. I am not my thoughts or actions or my body. I am the space between my thoughts. The observer.

Nope. I'm not naive/arrogant -- it's a built in part of human nature. But I am hyper-attentive to it, keep it in check better than you, & understand my weaknesses/fallibilities better than the average person. Failing hard in life & hurting/disappointing other people because of your own hubris/stupidity can work as a catalyst in waking you the **** up. That's for sure. I also have a partner who, thank god, is brutally honest with me & keeps my self-reflection game on point.

While you're certainly a smart guy, and while I do respect some of your cavalier attitudes toward life, fact is you pay more lip service to being self-aware than you actually are. You contradict yourself constantly, throw insecure fits (while vehemently denying you're not), and I (& others) don't have the time/energy to point it out every time it happens. That's my read of you Rich -- get over it or grow up. Doesn't mean you're not a good person, cant succeed, etc. People can comb through TT & decide for themselves as to your maturity-level/psychology.

Peace.

I was playing at the Commerce Casino and had to actually leave because a dealers breath was so bad. Chuong. I got up and told the floor and then wrote a complaint out at customer services. Going to head over to Hollywood Park Casino soon.

Wow. Making trouble for a dealer who's probably scraping by as is, just like you, over bad breath? Can you not see how vindictive/loathsome this is? Great self-awareness. Great compassion. Great maturity.

JFC. Beyond pathetic.

Move tables. Move on with your life. Give the guy a piece of gum. Anything but what you did.

P.S. When you go crying to Bobo this time that someone is being too mean to you, don't spam him too much. You clearly annoyed him last time.
