I was in two minds about posting on here, I didn't want to create another challenge thread which I didn't end up following through on.

But I am a few months into my journey and I found blogging has really helped me along the way, giving me the motivation to grind and hold me accountable for my performance.

So I thought I would post here too, and keep this thread for additional updates and open up myself for feedback and support (and of course for trolling!).

I am currently re building a bankroll, with an aim to progress up the stakes in the London live cash poker scene (£1-£1 > £1-£2 > £1-£3 > £2-£5), I also play tournaments and decent amount of volume online.

My blog is in a "live" format, I update straight from the felt during my sessions.

I am a long time lurker, felt like making a small contribution.

I just moved up to £1-£2 (from £1-£1), a little chip porn from my second session back there (pales in compassion to actual chip porn, but meh, who doesn't like photos of stacks?!):

Results review for September now up on blog, 26 sessions blogged live from the felt: https://lowstakesgrinding.wordpress.com/

First month back grinding £1-£2, decent results.

Scouted out games at The Hippodrome, may transition grind from The Vic to there in October.

Here is a summary of results since the start of the blog:

Plan in October is to keep grinding away, got a few health / lifestyle goals to put into place, but generally to be a nice, happy human, and enjoy life.

£1-£1 at The Vic juicy as ****, amazing game to grind up a bankroll, but move up as quick as possible, 10% rake is ****ed up (plus the £1 badbeat / freeroll drop), though capped at £5 and if you game select deeper stacked line ups and adjust play accordingly game certainly beatable.

£1-£2 wise, you can find some amazing games at The Vic, but because there are less tables running compared to The Hippodrome games can get reg heavy often, I would say the biggest difference between The Vic and The Hippodrome £1-£2 is at The Hippodrome you can find a soft / juicy / good game at anytime during the day, and the game remains good for longer, at The Vic you find the games go through spells of being super good and not so good, but the Loyalty Freeroll at The Vic is a huge incentive to grind there, plus honestly even the better regs are not that good and games are more than grindable at both cardrooms.

Waitresses outfits at The Hippodrome win though.

Hey man, any reason you still buyin at 112.5bb? Rather than max. What was you buyin for 1/1?

When I initially moved up to £1-£2 I wanted to keep the exposure to my bankroll smaller and reduce variance, 100bb buy in (keeping my stack topped up at all times) as a default worked fine for me.

However I have always had and still currently have a dynamic approach to buy ins / topping up, if I find myself in a game with an opponent who I want to play deeper with (especially if I have a good a seat / position in the game relative to the action) I will top up / add on deeper, but as with good seat change etiquette I will do it discretely, too often I see young "pros" make it very uncomfortable for fish / whales by being too obvious / aggressive in their approach.

On the subject of buy ins, I will say this, the pretty much uncapped buy ins in the £1-£2 games in London I feel kills off the potential for more £2-£5 games running.

How is there only 1x £2-£5 game in London most nights? And yet you have dudes happily buy in to £1-£2 games £1k deep?

Cap £1-£2 to £400 max (no match biggest stack or half biggest stack), and have capped £2-£5 games (£1,000 max) and I am sure as with Vegas we will have more games running above £1-£2, and this in turn will lead to more £5-£10 games in the future.

Or am I just wrong to think this? Thoughts?

Oh also get rid of the £1-£1 and £1-£3 games, this will consolidate £1-£2 and £2-£5 player pools.

Seems like a pretty good overall strategy. Well done on going full time man hope it works out and wish you the best of luck. I have never played these stakes but 1/2 doesn't seem like the sort of stake that should be uncapped. Think 200bb cap would be much better for the game. Wouldn't mind getting rid of 1/3 as seems like a silly stake but think 1/1 has its place even if it is quite hard to beat just because of the high rake (although you made it look pretty easy haha)

How are you finding the games during the day on weekdays? I get most my days of work on weekdays but never wanna go grind as thought games would be pretty Reggy?

Don't you think it would be more plus EV now you full time to start your sessions later so you get more hours in when games are good(later at night)?

At the moment I am doing bit of both, but I plan to eventually settle down to an evening / night schedule.

The games during the day at The Vic are dead, £1-£1 in particular, dead! The £1-£2 can be hit or miss, some days you can find an amazing game, but they are usually driven by one or two punters, and very reg heavy.

However I have found the £1-£2 daytime games at The Hippodrome to be much better, really really good actually.
