I just got married to my aces (you know how hard they are to fold) and on the turn I was just trying to rep a set of jacks - so you would fold a lower set, but really I just wanted to take it down.
There's a solid chance you're being sarcastic, but I'll bite. I wasn't getting anywhere close to the proper odds, since I need ~5 to 1 to break even, calling the turn is burning money (in a vacuum). Looking at the big picture however, since my goal is to get ALL the chips, because all the money is up top, folding leaves me with half the starting stack, which is a big handicap, despite it being 300 bigs. If I call and lose, I rebuy and get the full stack, if I win, I have double the starting stack in the first level AND the image of a maniac, which is obviously extremely valuable. Expecting someone to bet/fold a set on this board is optimistic at best.
Your play would make much more sense if I play overpairs this way, but I wouldn't. Vs the range of sets/2 pairs and combo draws (and bare open-ended), you're in bad shape

You did own me pretty hard in this particular hand, but let's not be result oriented. As stated previously, I should have bet if the turn was a club or a straight card, and check/folded otherwise, unless you'd make a very small bet. I just couldn't help myself, knowing you had an overpair (was almost a 100% sure by the time we got to the turn), and since it's a fairly weak holding considering the action, I thought I'd get a fold vast majority of the time (another good read in the books).
Anyway, obv no hard feelings (it's just a hand of poker), and the "unknown" line is just an old twoplustwo joke. Good luck with poker and stay away from blackjack.
