Starting at 1/2, hopefully not taking stupid shots at 2/5 or 5/10 with no roll (but no promises).

Starting roll - 300 (with backup)
5000 (if I ever get there) - start taking shots at 2/5

would personally start with at least 1.5k but that is just personal preference

yeah ideally I would start with more but I just don't have it right now.

First Session:
only one notable hand, set over set. I went all in on the flop and it was folded around to the other guy with a set. While he was thinking he flipped over his cards, and I think he was legitimately considering folding, which would have been crazy.

You don't need discipline, you need a BR first...and then post some hands out so we all can help or at least learn from you.

You have a job I am assuming correct?

Keep working hard, keep reading, its a free site, GL! (I will be back in a few days in LV if you ever wanna meet up sometime when I am playing around town)

I know I need a BR but I have extra money from my job and I want to risk as little as possible, but if I lose I lose. Anyway today I lost 200 and was going to leave but I just didn't feel like driving home so I sat back down and ran it up pretty well. My biggest hand was QdKd against TT. Flop was TJ6, I called a relatively small bet, turn was A which also put two diamonds out, and we both went all in.

Pretty frustrating session. My first hand I had KK, flop is 239 rainbow, I bet, guy to my left goes all in right away, I call, he has 89, river is 9. A few minutes later I had J9 with a preflop raise and a lot of people in the hand I call. The flop is J96, I bet 40, the same guy to my left goes all in right away, I call, he has AA, river is a 6. Oh well, it happens. He also offered me a fist bump as if to congratulate him which I don't quite understand. Even if I was willing to touch people in casinos, no thank you to that. I at least appreciate him trying to give me money.

Not a big win but a pretty easy session tonight. My whole table was super tight, and everyone was complaining about how everyone was playing too tight and there was no action. So I started raising and bluffing probably about half the hands and nobody would call me. A bunch of very small pots added up. I also have a new goal of playing well 10 times in a row, of course this is subjective but I have a history of getting bored and playing too loose (hence the screen name).

unless you run super good all the time, you will likely go broke sooner or later due to the bitch called variance even though 200NL is generally really soft. i'd recommend 20buyins and 15buyins at the very minimum.

Pretty good short session tonight. Played about 1.5 hours. I was hovering around 150-160 and was getting ready to leave and thinking it would be nice to win at least 100. So then I get AA, I raise with 4 callers, flop is Axx, I check raise this really loose guy to my left, he goes all in with A9 for some reason. Other than that nothing special, there was one pretty active guy who was super easy to bluff which was the only other person I made money off of.

pretty good day today. I was a bit more active than I normally am. Not many hands come to mind, most of the day was pretty standard. I did have one bad call on the river with top pair against a set, and another hand I semi bluffed with an open ended straight draw and hit the straight, other than that I won a good pot with AK and a bunch of small ones with random. My table was good though, one hand the flop with 689, there's a bet, raise, re-raise, and then all in and call. One guy had 88, the other guy had 62, it was crazy, he basically called any big bet when he was in the hand. The average 1/2 player is just so bad, it's great.

Not an exciting update but I have been playing and part of the reason I have this is to keep myself in check. I played stupid 3 times in a row, then tonight I was back to normal, so hopefully I can control myself. My table tonight was really good, super high earning potential, unfortunately I got hit pretty cold by the deck so I missed out on most of the action. People were going all in preflop for 3 and 4 hundred with AK, JJ, QQ, AQ, 88, etc. I didn't get much but I did win a little, better than nothing.

Played a few more sessions. One more bad one where I kept over betting my small pocket pairs. Today was good though, first session was a little over an hour, hit flush over flush and AA vs KK, so that was a quick 500, then I played again later and nothing special happened but I won 100.

Had a really good session tonight. First hand was AhKh, I raise, two callers, flop is 552, there's a big bet and a big raise so I fold. Then I proceed to fold for over an hour. But I was very patient and finally started getting some ok hands, nothing spectacular but I was hitting some flops and ran my 60 or so gradually up to about 200. Then I was getting ready to leave, last hand before my big blind and I go home, I have 78 suited and limp, limps around to the big blind who checks. Flop is 69A, BB bets 10, I call, everyone else folds. Turn is 5, BB bets 15, I raise to 40, BB calls. River is 4, BB checks, I bet 60, BB calls. Nice little bonus to end the evening.

I had a super easy session tonight. I just got hit in the face with the deck. First hand I sit down As9s, river the flush and called an all in bet. Got KK twice, AK 4 or 5 times, hit them, got action. A9, 9 high flop, AT, T high flop, I couldn't do anything wrong, it was lots of fun. You know when there are crazy people at your table raising big every hand, and you just think, if I could only get a couple big hands against them. Anyway two easy big card filled hours.

well I've been pretty busy with work so I haven't had a chance to play much lately, but I did get out once last week and tonight. Last week was crap, I played like a stupid LAG and lost quickly. Tonight I played pretty well, made some good folds. I caught two flush draws for nice pots, then had two sort of bad beats, both top 2 pair against a draw that hit. Overall a good session, another one of those easy session where I can't believe how badly some people play at 1/2. I just wish I had more time to take their money, and didn't get stupid myself so often. So far I'm averaging over 100 a session. I don't think I can keep that up but so far so good.

I finally had a session where I played well and lost. It was bound to happen. I was doing pretty well, up around 200, then I had AQ against AK and double up the guy to my right, then the very next hand I had an over pair against a set, and the same guy took me out. I'm not upset about how I played the hands though, I made a big raise preflop and couldn't put him on such a low pair.

Had a good session today. I played pretty solid for over an hour, got from 100 to around 300, then folded for about 2.5 hours. Then I got Ac6c, two other people in the hand. The flop is 3 clubs, first guy bets, I call, second guy raises, first guy goes all in, I go all in, second guy calls. One has a set, the other has two pair. The board paired so I lost the main pot, but luckily the guy who won was pretty short so I ended up winning a bit. Then a few minutes later I had 78, flop 569. There's a bet, a raise to over 100, so I just shove and take it down. Aside from the lull in the middle it was fun, and I stayed patient.

Are you rounding the numbers at the end of your sessions? It seems very strange that you are up/down in multiples of $100

Yeah, when I win I take the 100s and put them towards my bankroll, then anything extra I put in my pocket for spending money, even if I'm up 199, I count that as up 100, and take the 99 for spending money. I always bring 200 with me and buy in for 100 at a time, so that's when I lose 100s. There's probably an extra 300-500 not accounted for in this thread, but what's the point of playing poker if I never spend any of the money?

Anyway, I played last night like it was my goal to spread money around to annoying people. I don't know what it is, but sometimes I have such a strong urge to play like a complete idiot. Needless to say I lost, and my play well 10 times in a row goal is reset, I wonder if I'll ever hit it.
