Live Grind On Da Mind

***The Intro***

I turn 21 in 23 hours, the plan for tonight is to eat out at a nice Brazillian BBQ and have a seat reserved for me for the minute i turn 21. This PG&C thread will encompass all i do as a live player.

Some of you guys know who i am and have followed me/spoken with me a bit, for those of you who don't know who i am and are curious on background, below is a list of things i have written about me/poker and can give u a bit of insight to who i am as a player and person.

***More Info***

Recent package i made for wsop, has alot of info on me/stats. HERE

Epiphany i had recently about my mindset and how i approached life. HERE

My last PG&C thread. HERE

Article i wrote about tilt awhile back. HERE

8k post

***The Plan***

With all the BF **** that has occurred, i will now have to become a live reg until the situation changes or i'm able to move out of the usa. Thankfully there is a decent sized casino within 30min of where i live (potawatami casino in milwaukee,WI) and that my backer is willing to stick with me.

To start off i will be sharpening my live game at first with 1-2nlhe (300$ buy in) and depending on how well i adjust to live i will move up to 3-5 (600$ buy in), i will probably move up to 3-5 after wsop.

From june 1st to july 7th+ i'll be in vegas for the wsop, i'll be playing around 16 events and playing tons of side events. I'll post TR's and will be updating often on my twitter.

***The Goals***

Play loads of poker, make loads of money (dosn't really matter), and most importantly be happy!

I'd like to be able to travel to europe/austrailia after the end of next years wsop, and possibly move out of the usa for a bit if online scene hasn't improved.

I will be staying a poker pro pretty much no matter what (i'd have to get sick of the game/become passionate for something else), i'd like to be able to travel the circuit a bit after wsop and hit up local events. Getting a win in a 200$+ this year would be wonderful and achieving a win rate of 50$/hr in live cash post expenses would be great as well. I'll be posting interesting hands here and using this to track my sessions to some degree as well.

Thank you for following, best of luck at the tables!

Re: Live Grind On Da Mind

I am very talkative at the tables, i dont wear headphones or sunglasses. I am very polite, try to appear a little wild and crazy with some of what i say/do (joke around a lot, try to get ppl to do small prop bets), however i keep the joking fairly reasonable as to not make an ass of myself. I tip the dealers when they get to the table and when they leave (i always wish them a good morning/etc and thank them for their service), and for every pot i win over 100$ i tip 1% up to 3$.

***Session Results:***
Time Played: 16 hours
Net: +750
Games played: Mostly 1-2 (300 max) and some 3-5 when it was the only nlhe game running (bought in for 250)

***Live Results:***
Sessions Played: 1
Time Played:16
Net: 750
Hourly (inc travel): $45.45
Hourly (on the tables): $46.88

***Interesting Hands:***
Note: These hands did not nessecarily occur in the order posted, for the most part i couldn't remember when some of them occurred, i'll just post them in the order i remember them.

HAND 1

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 600ish
Hand =910s
Position = Btn
Villain= SB, they are the only decent player on the table, we are a few hours into the game and we have been discussing online poker. He has supposedly FT'd the millball and is a solid mtter. We never really discussed strategy or w/e, but we played back and forth a lot (he was position ****ing me).

I raise btn to 15, he 3bets to 45 fairly quickly, i call fairly quickly. Flop = KQ9dd. he checks i check behind. Turn = Qh now adding 2 possible draws on the board. He bets like 60, i tank for like 30 seconds and call (i realized that he would bet flop with most of his value range, so i now put him on A9-J/1010/JJ/89/air). River = 7d, villain bets 135$, i tank call. He shows AJhh, i win the pot.

Hand 2

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 450ish
Hand =37s
Position = BTN
Villain= Really bad asain guy, he's been playing fairly tight but weirdly. I've noted him for being somewhat agressive pre and usually fit/fold post flop.

UTG straddles, villain in utg +1 raises to 25$, folds to me, i "4bet" to 55$, folds back to villain who calls. Flop = 832r, villain checks and i cbet 55$, villain raises pretty quickly to 145$ (when villian raised his entire body language stated that he was uncomfortable, he was a reg who was getting a little annoyed with how agro i was, as i would expect him to call the majority of his value hands + body language = i thought he had ****), i tank for like 30 seconds and call. Turn =6s. Villian shoves his remaining 250 and i snapppppppppp call. Villain shows QJ, river J.

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 600ish
Hand =56dd
Position = Sniper (to the right of hijack)
Villain=BB, new to table, young asian guy. I had raised him twice already (on the flop) in less then 2 orbits, he seemed fairly aggrevated the 2nd time when i showed him a gut-shot straight draw after he folded.

3 Limps to me, i limp as well. We hit the flop 7 handed, Flop = 56Jhh, villain bets 45$ fairly quickly, folds to me, i raise to 145, folds to villain who snap shoves. I say call, very quickly. Turn = 7, river = 4h, i say 2pair and show my hand, villain mucks angrily and mutters to himself as he walks away from the table.

***Session Results:***
Net: +1800
Games played:1-2 n 3-5. played 1-2 for 2 hours or so then moved to 3-5 when a massive whale moved to it.

***Live Results:***
Sessions Played: 2
Time Played:27.5
Total Hours:29
Net: +2550
Hourly (inc travel/food): $87.xx
Hourly (on the tables): $92.xx

Largest pot Lost =

Flop mid set vs tptk, get it in for 3k total pot. They runner runner a straight :/.

Largest pots won =

Flop straight flush draw vs top set and 2p, hit the straight ott n hold = 1k

Flop straight flush holding QJcc, (board = 8910cc) villain has A7cc and we get it in = 1.2k

Need to get going or i'd go more into detail. Apparently GBMantis is playing here, he was at my table for awhile, we were discussing poker/life. Most of the games are fairly soft, the younger guys for the most part play fairly well, however it should be fairly easy yet to game select and villain select and keep variance low and hourly high. My last session i prolly averaged over 70% vpip at my 2nd table, once i didn't have regs on my left. Was a really fun game and i built up a ridiculously crazy image. Gonna keep up acting fairly crazy so when i play vs the older regs they play back at me and i can have a much higher hourly vs them.

Thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!

Very happy with how i have been playing overall, had some very std beats occur, and 1 fun hand.

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 800ish
Hand =A9dd
Position = Btn
Villain= Somewhat aware reg, hasn't been limping really, usually raises vs limpers when they are in lp.

Villain limps utg, youngish guy in mp limps and i raise to 25$, both call. Flop = 234r, both check and i check behind. Turn = Ah, putting 2 hearts on board. Both check to me and i bet 50$, utg raises fairly quickly to 150$, i tank for like 20-30 seconds and call hesitantly (i realized nearly right away that he never had a value hand here and that he likely had hearts or air, so my plan right away was to look unsure and call, and then call all non heart rivers). River = Qs, villain bets 175$ pretty quickly, i tank for like 30-45 seconds (hollywooding, dont want him thinking that i had an easy call) and mutter something like "This is a really well played 5 if u have it....sighhhhhh....call".
They flip J10hh while muttering to themselves about how "bad this kid is".

Pretty happy with how i have been playing, been having a good time at the tables and buying ppl drinks where "required" (talk a guy into a 300$ call vs me when i rivered a flush and he had trips, he was nearly getting ready to leave if he busted what he had left, 50$, but he ordered a drink so i offered to buy it, and talked him into buying in for more, which he did . We also joked afterwards about how it was a 300$ drink ^.^ ). Have a lot more fun live then i ever did online, however it can be pretty draining.

Thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!

Very first hand of the night i flop 2nd nuts vs nuts, they had me covered. The rest of the night was a long roller-coaster ride with me hitting about +300 at one point on the night. Took some fairly large beats and had 2nd nuts vs nuts again for about 800$ pot.

With how the night went, really surprized i didn't drop off the full 2k that i brought. Very happy with how i have been playing and with how i take beats (show pretty much no emotion no matter how bad they played or how big the pot).

Got to speak to the guy who took 22nd in the 2008 wsop main event for a few hours last night, also got into a really long discussion on politics/finance with an ex finance guy (he pretty much confirmed a lot of feelings i have about how our government is ran and how big of **** the US is in with our "credit rating" and how bad **** could get if we lose our AAA rating). Was a really interesting night, had a lot of fun.

Thanks for reading, best of luck at the tables!

Re: Live Grind On Da Mind

***Session 6 Results:***
Time played:11 hours
Net: -942
Games played:3-5 (600$ buyin)

***Live Results:***
Sessions Played: 6
Time Played:72
Total Hours:77
Net: +38
Hourly (overall): $0.49

Games were really soft and played really big. I was again welcomed to the casino in a very fun, set<set for 600$ (like 2nd orbit), was a long uphill battle for awhile and was actually +1200 at one point in the night. Then i had the following hands occur.

Hand1:

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 1600ish
Hand =99
Position = CO
Villains= Vilain A was in utg+3 and was fairly new to table and was sitting around 900 deep, villain B in lp was tilted and playing crazy all night, he had around 1600 and i had around 2500.

UTG straddles, utg +1 calls, utg +2 calls, villain A raises to 65, villain b calls, i call, utg calls. Flop = 9s7c6s, utg checks, villain A bets $100 villain B calls, i tank raise to $525, villain A tanks for like 1.5 mins and calls, villain B thinks for like mayyyyybe 30 seconds and then ships in his full 1600. I tank for like 1min and crying call, villain A tanks for awhile and finally puts in the rest of his chips.

Villain A = 666, Villain B = J8o, Me = 999 on 976ss. Turn 10. river blank. gg. total pot = about 4k

Hand 2:

Blinds = 3$-5$
Effective stack = 800ish
Hand =K10ss
Position = Btn
Villain = same guy from the previous hand, but this was like 4 hours later, he had punted back around 2.5k (to rest of table ) and was tilted again. He and i were playing loads (me playing crazy agro and him being on my right, he was very loose passive and played agro when tilted).

4 limps, i raise to $45, 1 caller. Flop is 1095cc, villain checks and i bet 55$, he made a speech about how he had a pair and i made a speech about how i didn't have 1. Turn = Qs, board now has ccss. Villian bets 75$, i tank raise to 255$ and make a speech about how im pushing him off his 10. Villain takes about 20 seconds and then calls. River = 7c, villain tanks for 20-30 seconds and then quickly tosses 3 black chips into the pot. I tank for like 2 min making a speech about how sick of a fold im making and how i know he is swindling me, i even show him my hand around half way in. I fold, villain ends up showing K3cc.

While i've had 4 losing sessions in a row, and just had my worst session, i am very very very happy with how i have been playing and how people view me, both as a player and as a person.

The table i had most of the night tonight was an awsome table to play at for a couple diff reason. First of all, villianB (main villain from 2nd hand and winner of first pot) is a D-line coach for the chicago bears, was a really interesting guy and fun to chat with. Secondly, there was an ex 49er's player there, and a big real estate investor. The table was also really talkative, and thus played really crazy (lotta limp callers, etc), thus it was a lot of fun.

While i lost a lot of other big pots (flush < flush twice, 2p < set, AK<A4 for 900$ aipf, etc), it actually ended up being great for me as i never cussed, berated, etc... Thus the football coach and the real estate guy gave me a lot of respect (with the coach saying that he would have been raging pissed and tilted with what had happened to me and was kinda shocked at how cooly i took it all), whats great about this is that the REI guy invited me to some private bar league stuff and possible home games as well (45$ tourneys with 90 ish players, plays really deep + good structure, then turns into 1-2+ nlhe cash games that are supposedly realllllllly soft + rake free).

Not a bad night overall, need to stop running bad tho. >.<

Thank for reading. Beast of luck at the tables!
