About ~60. My goal was to play 30 after I started this thread in Mid Dec. I played around 50 since I started the thread and about 10 before the thread in December. This was with a week and a half was a wash pretty much with finals for me, and about 80 hours of work in Dec.

+122 in 7 hours and the high hand was on! Made a mistake of mucking AAAJJ which would have been the high hand but luckily it would have been beat out regardless. Almost went on tilt by giving away $300 free dollars!

Hours in January - [10/60] - Got some free rooms on Wed/Thurs so will be getting some serious volume in this week!!

HH1

V: [130] MABG - The definition of action player. Has been going nuts playing something like 80/50/0. In for like 500

V straddles
Hero now UTG looks down at KK

Hero raise to 16
BTN call
V raise to 100
Hero reraise all in
BTN folds

V flips QJ

Had a sweat with 2 hearts on the flop and J on the turn but MHWG!

HH2:

Hero looks down at 77 in SB

3 limpers to Hero in SB
Hero completes
BB checks

Flop: (9) 7T9

Hero bets 7
2 callers

Turn: (27) Q

Hero bets 20
1 fold
BTN raise 86 all in
Hero call

BTN shows 85 Lets fade the spade or straight!

River: K

HH3:

Hero Has 77 in SB again!

2 limpers
Hero calls
BB checks

Flop: (7) 234

Reggy OMC leads out 6
Hero raise to 16
2 callers
Leader folds

Turn (57) T

checks around

River (57) T

Hero bets 25
Another OMC calls and MHIG! THIN VALUE!!

Haha it was a longer session that usual but fun for sure. ANother update to come on Wednesday!

Put in a 9.5 hour session today, and we are now back in the green for January! +149

HH1

V: OMC. no reads as this is 5th hand I've been sitting with him. I have him covered. Stacks eff ~170

Hero looks down at 44 in the SB

MP EP raises to 7
OMC calls
I call in SB
BB calls

Flop: (25) 4T7

I decide to lead here for $16 - would love thoughts on this.
2 folds
V calls

Turn: (55) 2

Hero bets 35
V tank calls

River: (125) 2

Hero bets 75
V shoves for ~50 more
I call

MHIG

HH2:

V: MAAG - Reg-gy. Has been playing well. I have only seen him raise once and he did not show. Seen him slowplay a flopped nut straight for 3 streets and get no value. Kept this is mind during the hand

Stacks ~300 eff - V covers

Preflop: 3 limpers to Hero in SB with AT
Hero limps (is this a mistake? My table has been very limo call happy as the HH promo is on and I didn't want to sweeten the pot going 4 - 5 way OOP)
Bb checks

Flop: (9) AJT

Hero bets 7
1 call
V call
2 folds

Turn (28) 9

Hero leads 16
1 fold
V calls

River: (56) 4

Hero leads 35
V tanks 2 mins and raises to 85

My read now is that this is most likely a straight or low flush. I know I cannot call, so I fold.

HH3:

Not really a HH but I folded KK for the first time preflop after I 4b and he 5b shoves for 120BB. He had AA.

Gonna be another marathon session tomorrow, can't wait!

Leading with 44 there is fine, but I probably make it 20. Anybody calling 16 with a big club or tp+ is definitely calling 20 so just get more value. Same with the turn.

HH2 looks good, not raising pre from the SB with a10o when nobody's folding. Without knowing anything about V, hard to know how good our line is but it seems pretty standard, so no problems there. Never calling river as played without specific reads.

Thank you for the response man, I appreciate the input!

Heading off to start the session now, should be a fun update tonight.

A long Thursday session came to an end on a somewhat positive note but I took some rough hits on the way. Did not run well in the slightest, and certainly need to improve my mental game as well.

Thursday : -290 in 11 hours
Friday : -195 in 2 hours

Total Jan Hours: [33/60]

HH1:

V: Young 20-somethings kid dressed nicely looks like more of a party goer than poker player. No reads on him. He is very talkative and doesn't seem to be paying much attention though.

Hero looks down at AA

Folds to hero in HJ who raises to 10
V calls in SB
BB calls

Flop: (28) 7 T J

V checks
BB checks
Hero bets 25
V raises to 75
BB folds
Hero shoves for ~170 eff. Is this spew?

V shows 77 and holds w/ bottom set but I thought I beat enough that raises there - combo draws, and some other holdings.

HH2:

V: MAWG. Huge whale. In for about 1k and keeps rebuying for 100 oncrements and his having fun. 99 VPIP and limp calls 100 percent of the time. We are 7 handed and it's now about 1 AM.

Hero looks down at AQ in EP

Hero raises to 15
V calls OTB

Flop: (30) 234

Hero cbets 25
V raise to 50
Hero snap shoves
V calls and shows K6 ! The dream!

Turn: 6

River: 8

MHING

HH3:

Early Friday morning after waking up from Thursdays marathon session.

V: OMC. 70y/o+. This is our 4th hand since table has just been formed.

Hero looks down at AA

MP raise to 7
V calls
Hero 3b to 24
both call

Flop: (72) J 7 9 (Dejavu from HH1?)

Mp check
V check
Hero bets 43
MP calls
V min raises to 86. Despite amazing odds I decide to fold because of V's general OMC reads. Turns out he had 99 for flopped set (Again!) On to the next one!

Thank you! For sure gonna hit up some of the smaller rooms as I'm sure the bigger casino's are gonna be tougher, but it's gonna be hard to resist the urge to play some 1/3 @ Bellagio, that place is just too nice.

+351 in 4.5 hours today. Gonna get in some more hours tomorrow.

A couple of fun hands:

HH1:

V: OMC. Read at the time was that he was TAG. Turns out later on that he was a massive LP station.

Hero has Q 5

Folds to Hero on BTN
Hero Raise to 10
V call
BB gold

Flop: KT6

V check dark
Hero bet 15
V call

Turn: (45) A
Hero bet 30
V call

River: (105) T

Check
Check

V shows J9! Q high is good.

HH2

V: Young college kid who has punted 400. In Eff stacks 180 or so

Hero looks at AK

Hero Raise to 10 from EP

4 calls including V in SB

Flop: (47) K56

Checks to Hero who bets 25
V calls

Turn (97) Q
Check
Hero bets 45
V calls

River: (187) A
V shoves for 89 total

I tanked for a bit, knew I was getting a great price and after contemplating I felt like I was ahead of some of his value range; KQ, AQ, knew he was capable of bluffing missed draws, and JT made no sense so I was only behind to sets. I made the call and MGWG! on to tonight's testifies! Meeting some buddies for a little early birthday birthday celebration!

Thanks for the response! I agree that it looks a bit small, my reasoning to go smaller was because of 5 players in the hand, which could certainly be a mistake and I'll have to take a deeper look!

The official birthday session was a crazy one for me! Started out in the red but some mental game training really paid off and really helped me keep focus and not get bored/tired/irritated/tilty. It really can't be stated enough how important the mental game is and why so many people say you can have all the talent and not succeed because of a poor mental game. Oh yeah, and I binked my first 4 figure session .

+1061 in 10 hours

January Hours [60/60]
Study Hours [10/20]

2016 Long Term Goal - Build up a roll large enough to start taking shots at 2/5NL during 2016 and by 2017 be playing about 50% 2/5NL (basically when games are good) I have BR # in mind but wouldn't mind some of your guys opinions on what you think a good # for this is.

My 1410 stack after this pot (at 1/2 lol) Definitely got some interesting looks no doubt

+15 today in 6 hours. Was a real up and down session, but a ton of fun as always. My only hope is that the live grind never stops being fun. That, of course, is a very big wish.

GII with KK against AA and JJ today, that was interesting. JJ only had 30 and scoops main pot while I chopped with AA on 6789T board lol. so sick

BR now at about 4k. Let's go! Any suggestions on when it would be appropriate to shot take @ 2/5?
Live 1/2 - The Journey Begins Quote

Hand 3 raise size too small; make it $105. Also bet flop larger; maybe pot it. Hand 4 shove flop after all that action and as played how do you not shove the turn or bet river? I play at Foxwoods a ton; if you ever want to discuss hands I'm probably there almost every weekend. One thing about the $2/5 game is that it's pretty nitty overall and I would only try to take shots on the weekend. I'd recommend not taking a shot at this time but instead waiting to get to 15 buy-ins so you feel more comfortable.

One more thing, you need to start noting/posting stack sizes for yourself and villains in specific hands if you want any sort of constructive commentary.
