08242017 "What We Do for the Fish"

.50/1 Game (long standing game of 7 years)
This is one of the 2 games i play in that runs every month/every other month. Its the same group of guys and we play .50/1 with a $50 min and $100 max initial buy in. You can buy in for table max after the initial buy in. This game started off good and then a "cheater" was caught in the game where i posted it in the forum. Since then, it still the same core group of guys. The game consists of players mid 30s to late 50s. There are the occasional people who are in for 1-2 BI and the more seasoned players who will play all night.

Tonights game was a little unique. There is a major fish in the game who wants to play in the game, going forward we will call him NTG. This fish cashed out 500 BB 2 weeks ago with plenty of gamble. He is such a fish that i had to meet him somewhere out of the way so he could follow me to the game and then drive him back to the highway so he could get home. In addition to NTG there was another player who played the previous week (Cheesy Fingers) and he won 800+ BB 2 weeks ago with majority of the $ coming in a hand vs NTG. Cheese Fingers was passed out a few hours into the game after drinking 5 glasses (doubles) of bourbon and donating all $127 he brought with him. The fish always think its going to be their night and don't bring enough funds.

Cheese Fingers AA
NTG 10 10
Flop A A J
Turn 10
River 6 (All the $ when in here as it was just shy of a $800/pot)

NTG was late to the meeting point and we ended up arriving 1 hr late to the game. NTG had a strict time he had to leave and announced it 3 hrs into the game. NTG initial buy in was gone within the first 30 minutes and he asked for a loan till next week which i obliged. Roughly an hour later this hand developed.

7 handed
.50/1 NL with 7-2 side pot sitting around $60

Hero ($140) straddle to $2 fun player, giving action with premium cards and has only been called down 1x when i showed a flopped set

UTG makes it $8 (avg player with gamble in him)
HJ ($145) calls $8 NTG (fish)
Button ($50) calls $8 solid player who we will refer to is (MLC) is averaging $50/hr in this game over 100HR
I look down at Js Jh and make it $43 ($27.50 in the pot prior to the raise)
- i do this to make it look like a play at the 7-2
- take down the post right there
- know that NTG is a fishy player who will call almost anything once putting $ in the pot
- continue to show aggression as i have done throughout the night in every post i enter

UTG Folds
HJ Calls $43.50
Button goes all in for $47

with $136 in the pot Action is back on hero and I shove for remaining stack of $97. The HJ (fish) calls and the hands are revealed:

HJ Ah 8c
Button Qc 10s
Hero Js Jh

Hand %s

I hold and take the $330 hand and drive the fish back to the highway and return for the rest of the night.

Totals

Total Session 6 hrs
BI- $100
Cash Out $568
+/- $468

Always great when jacks hold up. Definitely like the 3 bet since button is likely calling wide here with position on NVG and his range is pretty capped when he doesn't 3 bet in this spot. I'm surprised button's shove reopened the action, but that's an awesome result.
