Back on the grind online and potentially have something lined up on the live front. I've deposited $200 online to keep the rust off and will run it up playing a bit of everything but keeping to decent BRM. Will also be jumping into the MicroMillions main event, not good BRM I know but I'm not going to miss it

Will keep this thread updated now with online results.

First couple of days, 4 tabling regular 5nl 6max. Don't feel too bad but probably making some horrible calls in big pots.

Nice to be playing again and looking forward to playing more again.

I'm very glad to say I'm coming back to the game! Looks like I'm going to be joining back up with an old stable of mine to play online. They're happy with me to get involved again although on a reduced scale due to time constraints. I've restarted my old Ivey Poker subscription and will be on it again pretty soon it seems! Content here will prob focus more on online now but I'm keen to keep a lot of non-poker content as well, thread is still going to be Life AND Poker in London and I'd like to stay true to that.

I've kept up the reading since the new year and have read a load of books, I won't review all of them but if you want to ask about any of them I'll do my best to answer!

2015 Books so far:
War and peace - Tolstoy
Animal Farm - George Orwell
Escobar - Roberto Escobar
Walking the Nile - Levinson Wood
Walking the Amazon - Ed Stafford
Guantanamo Diary - Mohamedou Ould Slahi
Captain Scott - Ranulph Fiennes
Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know - Ranulph Fiennes

I'm currently reading Mud, Sweat and Tears by Bear Grylls.

On the work front things are going well, I've just come out of a decent £25k week although I face a difficult call today where £4k might be going under. Also need to sit through 7 hours of technical training which going to be a bore but needs to be done, will be good practice for PT database study....

All the best,

PG

Just played a quick evening session and wanted to run a couple hands past the thread to see what you guys thought.

First hand was just more of a line check. Villain was pretty loose and aggressive but I find 2pair hands are where I've made mistakes in the past and perhaps haven't adjusted as well as I could have.

Fantastic read. I think we struggle to comprehend the range of challenges that an expedition of that magnitude entails and Ed does really well to bring you along the journey with him. I'd strongly recommend it as a supplement to something like "The Mental Game of Poker" to show you how people have overcome their own issues to allow them to complete their own epic projects.

any specific reason for not 5 betting hand 1. is it his low pfr %?

id prefer check calling flop if thats the way u want to play the hand and then check folding a lucky turn card for you.

i would have just 5 bet called off pre flop cant be folding KK pre at nl5 imho

Only that we're 200+bb deep.

Lets be honest, the poker side of my life is f***ing boring, do you really care how a 5nl grinder is doing? I wouldn't either.

I'll keep this mainly the bad things my friends and I do and we'll take it from there...

So last night someone had their birthday and it got a little loose.

Right now I'm trying to deal with my hangover as in a couple hours we've taking a helicopter to Wales for a pub lunch.

But yeah, 5nl hands, advice would be welcome.

Good day so far! Headed down to Lundy for lunch with some friends, couldn't have had a better day for the weather although we're all suffering a little after last night...

Unfortunately we got their a little late and missed service so as we flew back towards London we were calling hotels seeing if A) anywhere was still serving food and B) did they mind us landing our helicopter in their garden.

Luckily somewhere just outside Bath let us drop in, probably not expecting the loudest machine ever created to appear.

Anyway, drank far too much gin and now off to the club for a mates bday, let the good times roll!

I'd love to make some goals and predictions about where I'll be in however many months, but right now I just want to really work on my game and improve. I'd love to be a winning 50nl reg by the end of 2015 but we'll see how we get on!
