Hello all!

My name is Marko Markuš, I'm 24 years old and I come from a little place called "Bedekovcina" in North Croatia. My main hobby (well a little more then a hobby) is playing guitar (read classical). I finished middle school for guitar and now I'm attending 1on1 classes with a very well-known professor in that area of expertise. My goal is to get into musical academy here in Croatia so I can become a guitar teacher one day + have some solo concerts ofcourse!

My poker story is fairly simple. I play for 4-5 years, started on NL2 and finnaly started making money after getting Gordons NO6maxBS book and videos and ofcourse as in anything in life, when you learn simple you always start learning more and more and then start deviating and stuff. Anyways, through some coaching from a friend I got to NL25 last year. Then, after breaking out of that coaching I kind of stopped playing poker from 5th to 9th month this year. I went to visit my brother in Ireland, enjoyed life a bit, practiced guitar as always and played poker very little. Since I withdrawed most of my money I started on NL2 again 2 months ago which I still beat with no effort but you still have to put in a grind to get something from those micros. I got my BR up until I managed to get enough so I can apply to coaching for profit program on BPC.

Well now, why join the BPC? I put a lot of thinking in it, really, a lot.... The main concern was "Will It take me too much time so I won't have time practicing guitar for my goal". After a lot of hours and days I came to conclusion that it doesn't have to be guitar practicing that is hurt rather my personal life. So, I decided to apply for coaching for profits so that I'll fill up my spare time with something usefull instead of playing games, watching movies etc. As BPC says, you can play, work and learn on your own pace, that suits me absolutely perfectly. I can still practice my 3-4-5 hours of guitar, drink a coffee with a friend occassionaly and still have a lot of time to learn how to get better in poker which was always a fascinating way to earn money for me. I hope I'll learn a lot from them to become better poker player but a better person as well.

Everyone are invited to read this. I'll be updating you on my progress at least once a weak and I'm always open for questions and suggestions.

Have a nice day everyone, let's start stacking!

First week and first challenge done !

First 2-3 days I didn't play a single hand. I was taking care of some technical stuff for applying into the CFP and then I was introduced into the system (a lots of intro videos) and then I got to my first challenge, play 10 000 hands. For now I'm really happy with the system and the people in there. I hope that it will just continue to go better and better. Let the good run continue !

And now poker. I played 4 regular tables for the first 1-2k hands, then started with 8tableing after I got used to software and to a new game plan. I started my journey on NL2 because my BR was only 50€ and since the start I didn't hit a stoploss on NL2. For now everything is going as planned (well it can always go better).

Net won: 43,41€.... 21bb/100

I'm hoping to move up to NL4 at the end of the next week without any problems. Until then it's just a grind. I don't think I had a single hand where I didn't know what my actions are gonna be to any response from the other players on the table.

Goals for next week:
- 40+ hours of grind
- keep playing the same game no matter what happens on tables
- keep up with the off table work hours everyday
- move up to NL4

Profit: 44/10 000€ (5 days)

Hello,

I made my way up to next 10k hands and to NL4! The week for now is going preety well, I mean, standard NL2 week. There were 2 nights where I had 3-4BI downswing due to my bad state of mind and lack od discipline. Didn't make huge mistakes but they were basic mistakes which cost me money on the red line, didn't stab here and there, missed a 3b or to and as if that wasn't enough then you ran on a cooler and everything just goes bad.

Because of those 2 nights I did some research on my database and came to conclusion that I won't be playing after 9-10pm , rather spend those hours playing guitar, watching videos, writting blog, practicing uhlvar spots etc. During the day I just play hundred times better then during the night. It's just how my brain works it seems.

Here is a graph of this week so far,

Net won: 32,10€... 13.4bb/100

Currently I'm mixing NL2-4 but in a day or two I'll completelly move to NL4. Mixing up just because I'm going kinda "aggressive" with my BR (30BI) and don't won't to have to come down to NL2 again if down swing hits. Will mix for 2-3 more days until I hit 40BI then I'll play just NL4.

Goals :
- play 6h/day every day with turning off the tables after 9-10pm when I start to see exhausting happening on the tables.
- before every session speak out loud all the ranges I play preflop and overall strategy for preflop and postflop standard lines (aprox. 10min)
- keep answering to other members hands and posting at least 1-2 hands a day myself.

GL everyone!

Profit: 75/10 000€ (9 days)

Hi all!

It’s been a good weekend. Not really the most profitable one but I kept winning on NL4 which is a good sign. Maybe I could go up to NL10 in 2-3 weeks, well, that is gonna be my plan!

Coaching sessions helped me a lot not so much how to play specific stuff on specific boards (although that helped a lot) but how to think of those spots and come up with an anwser my self. I like the way this group is coaching and the way they make you think yourself, let’s say almost force you to think yourself which is fine because I’m here to learn how to earn money in poker and become better at it and by just blindly copying others is not the way for it but thinking rationally is.

Currently I’m only playing on 888poker. Microgaming seems to be full of some TAG players, not too good regs but also not a 50/0 fish. I’m constantly in a search out for a other site but they simply don’t satisfy me. Right now it’s all about simplicity and not pushing the limits too much so playing on a site that tilts me because of software is out of an option.

The main problem with only having 888poker is not the player pool because it’s a great site for NL4 but that I can’t play 8 tables but only 6. Well it is how it is.

Graph this week.

Net won: $40.699bb/100

Goals for next week:
– 40+ hours of grind
– normalize sleeping schedule
– manage your eating meals beetween sessions
– stick to table selection and simplicity as for now

Profit: €154 /€10 000 (19 days)

Hello people !

First, I wish you all a happy new year and lots of $$$ in our new 2016 ! Get your winrates up this year !

Now about this weekend, I am really satisifed with how it all ended up. There are a lot lot lot of things I learned about me and my game that I need to change and get myself into making better habits. Inspite those leaks I found I'm still happy with this week because even finding out what's wrong with some part of your life, that's a huge improvement because then you know what and how to change it. I moved to NL4-5 completely and started making good profit out of it. I really hope that within 2-3 weeks I will take a shot to NL10 and I will challenge myself that by the end of the month I establish myself as NL10 player. I also reduced number of tables to 6 most of a time because I was really practicing my game and my focus on standard spots so in future those thing become my autopilot A game. That's the reason for low hand number this week.

Graph this week

Profit: €59,40.... Winrate: 32,5bb/100

Now second thing is, first month down ! Although I am not here for full month I still made really nice profit, more then I expected. I changed my game a lot, I must admit I understand poker and what is it all about a lot better then before.

Graph this month

Profit: €170,60.... Winrate: 15,8bb/100

Goals next month:
  • Shot take NL10
  • Keep preparing 3 hands for coaching session and at least 2 extra if other people forget to do so
  • Attend every coaching session
  • average grind/day 4.5h
  • practice guitar 5h/day
  • If I'm not grinding, preparing or practicing guitar, don't think for a second about those 3 things anymore after they're done

Challenge profit: €274 / 10 000 (22days)

Hello !

So far this month is going so so. I started with NL10 shot but run badly and then continued to run baddly on NL5 as well. I kind of got out of run bad hole a bit and it finally started going for better. Some coachings and motivation words helped a lot !

This is graph from this month so far

Net won: €26,59 …. Winrate: 2.49bb/100

My net is also not well, it’s breaking so I’m not so motivated to play since literally every day I get stuck in a pot and my net disconnects for 10 mins or so. My volume and hours are not so great then. I’ve been playing more fast tables just because there are much easier to sit on since my net breaks often so I don’t have time to wait for a new regular table to pop.

As far as challenges this month go , it’s this:
– fix the net!
– no matter the variance stay motivated and in a good mood.
– keep in mind one thing “Poker is about making the best decision on your turn” and everything else literally does not matter
– eat and sleep properly

Profit:
€290 / 10 000 (38 days)

Hi ! It's been awhile. The problem was with internet in last month and then frustration, I was on a bit of a downswing and it affected me etc etc. I took few days off and started this month better. It's been going preety well now, I am on NL4 well stabilized and will be on NL10 again soon, I hope this time for longer!

This is the graph of this week

Profit: €53.43... Winrate: 14.4bb/100

I am still running way under EV, EV winrate is 18bb/100, all of that under EV stuff really happened on 1 day where I for first time reached my stop loss, I just couldn't win a hand, I couldn't even sleep that night. I tried to play some video games for 2-3hours just so I forgot about that hour and a half of hell and when I lay in bed I still coudn't forget all that. But hey we woke up and continued learning , improving and playing !

I noticed I misstyped my profit in coaching. I accidentily typed my whole bankroll, not true profit while in here. so real profit is :

Profit: € 321/ €10 000

Hello!

This week has been very good. No -$ days ! Although no huge +$ days but it’s great while it’s all green. I improved my mindset in the way that I think of poekr as a game, I understand what my strategy is worth “Basic” and how much I can get out of it. I won’te simply earn a lot of money now. I can expect around 10bb/100 on averaging 300-400 hand on NL4 and learn basic then go to intermediate and NL10 limit. Then profit will be greater and more exploitative plays will come in. THen after that on NL25-50 I can start expecting real profits, I just have to understand that. NO MONEY ON LOW LIMITS. The point is to learn the game and climb the limits then start earning money !!

The only minus thing this week is volume. It’s not about hours but I had about 5-6 tables at a time because I was heavy table-selecting so that means I have to add at least 1 more site to have 8 tables which I want.

Winnings this week

Profit: €35.55…. Winrate: 12.6bb/100

I have BR for NL10 but I will wait 3-4 days to get another 15-20k hands so I can reach 100k on NL4. I will have legit proof that I can beat the limit on the 100k hand sample and move on. I hope that next week I will write how I started crushing NL10 from the first day hehe 😛

Good luck on tables until next time !

Hello.

Second month in this year went quite good. Not as good as it could be but after the first one I can't complain. My game steped up and profits on NL4 showed up. I took a few shots on NL10 and haven't quite make it up there. I don't know where is the problem. I keep running on better hands, either I'm still not good enough, either I'm running bad on NL10. The game doesn't seem too hard there, almost as on NL4 so really don't know where the problem is right now. My bankroll i closing to 500€ and when I get there I hope I'll be moved to intermediate group where I can break this simple poker strategy which is kinda failing on NL10 for now.

Graph NL4

Graph NL10

Profit last month: €128.64 … Winrate: 14.9bb/100

From this month I have a new regime for myself. I play 40h of poker every week. I keep practicing guitar about 4h a day and I still watch 2-3 videos a week and I made presession routine which consists of getting over ranges and few guidelines I type for myself while watching videos.

Goals till next update

- normalize sleep schedule
- don't play tired or nervous
- maintain 40h a week of grinding
- maintain at least 3-4h of playing guitar every day
- stick to routines and don't be LAZY !!!

CFP profit: 421€/ 10 000€ (95 days) - very dissapointed about this for now
