The goal is to make $70k in 7 months. Most of the profit for the challenge will be playing live games $2/$5 - $10/$20. I will also be climbing the online stakes starting with 2 50z tables and 2 100nl tables on ignition. I will be adding a few live tournaments here.

I played some 7.5 hours of 5/5 last night and won $1892.
I will be posting both online and live graphs but I wont be doing it every session.

Good luck me!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been kind of busy and havnt been putting in much volume live or online. For the month of June I only played live 88 hours and won $6192.
Online I started 50z and 100 reg tables. I kinda lost patients and then just jumped up to 2 200z and 2 200nl tables. Up $1634 online. https://gyazo.com/edf37667338ec48d6c6de19839dadb16
https://gyazo.com/525928bfe51126140504ac9bb003d2af
June total $7,826.

So far in July I havnt played any live and just started to put some volume online the past few days.
Up $2054 online most of my volume at 200z

I am also making 20% of a form of rake back which I wont include in the challenge.

Total for the challenge is $9880.
I am a bit behind but I will start upping volume both live and online soon.

First live session of the month was a success. 9 hours up $1945. Private 5/10 game tomorrow, hopefully I can get some run good to make up for June's low volume.

I decided to do weekly updates.

2nd week recap. I played two sessions of live 13.5 hours +$1705.

Online I played 8k hands. I experienced some tilt during one session and drop 1k. Then the next session I had some software bugs that 3bet jammed 125bb vs an UTG raise and another 25bb where the river bluff that would of went through failed cause the software did not bet within the 15 second time frame.

I decided to count the RB as part of the challenge because it is time at the tables. From my estimate it is about $9-11 more to my online hourly.

Weeks graph https://gyazo.com/ac842fa1019846a5a145b07f3b3e794e

Week 2 results
Live $1705
Online $445
RB $231
Total $2150

I try to play 2-3 live sessions a week. I might make it 4 depending on the games. As for hands online, I am playing on a laptop which lags a bit since bovada's software is so ****ty. I order parts to build a computer and the CPU(Ryzen 2700x) which is on back order, will be shipping July 22. That should motivate me to play and study.

all the best m8! if your primary goal is the 70k in 7 months, I'd scrap the online - your hourly will simply be too low to put much of a dent in that at those stakes. Instead of playing 2-3 live, play 3-4 live maybe?

Will be sweating, glgl

True, my live hourly is a lot higher than my online. The problem is the 5/10 game might only run 1-2 times a week. I play in a good 5/5 game that runs Fridays and There is also a 2/5 game that run on different days that I have access to. So if I wanted to I could just make this a live challenge and crush it pretty easily. I am usually the best player in these games. But tbh I really enjoy playing 6 max online. For some reason I get more excited when I have a 5 bi session online than 5 bi in the 5/10 live game. Its almost like the live games are for fun and online is where I am put to the test and when I come out victorious I feel much more satisfied and accomplished. Its good to have a balance between the two. They are different enough to keep me from burning out as opposed to just grinding 30-40 hours of either. Playing online keeps my overall poker game sharper.
Small sample and i've been running super but here is my online hourly so far.

This combined with $9-$11hr rake back, comfort and convenience, playing online is a good contribution to my challenge.

This while you're running well, is true, yes. The way I'm looking at it is from a pure numbers perspective, if you play 160 hours a month, you need to hit about $60-65 an hour to complete the challenge. I think that hourly at 200z is basically impossible esp if you're not including the RB towards the challenge. That said, if your only alternative is a ****ty 2/5 game then your hourly probably wouldn't be much higher playing live anyway.

Obviously at the end of the day whether you achieve it or not will likely come down to a few big live hands that either do or don't go your way, and where you run in distro online.

Let's just run ***** good aYe?!~

I'm most interested in how you are getting a form of rakeback on a bovada/bodog skin?

I've been on a massive heater online the past few days. I'm probably up 22 bi in 25k hands this month. So far i've made more online than live this month. Hopefully that will change today. I am going to a 5/10 game tonight.

Just got done with an 11 hour session. The game started off kinda rough but then I won a plo flip and was up $2700. Then for most of the night I was adding on $1k here, $1500 there. I ended up being in the game for $10,700 and had about $4k in front of me. Caught some heat towards the end of the session and won two 10k pots. Ended up +$5300.

Towards the end of the week I had a lot of mental fatigue. I only played a couple hours on Friday night. The fatigue carried over to Saturday. I lost a morning online session which i quit early(only 43 mins). My biggest mistake, and where I lost the most money was during the live 5/10 session. If I would have left 2 hours earlier I would have been up $2800 for the sesh but I tried to stick it out to the end and ended up getting stacked. All the signs for me to quit were there. I mucked a winning hand at showdown, wast taking enough time before I acted, and I didn't want to be there. I notice I become more impulsive and take more risks when I am tired. The lesson I learned is even though the game is good, if i'm tired I should just quit. If I was at the top of my mental game on Saturday it could have been a great week but I ended up losing $1800 for the day.

Weeks results:
Live up $2700 in 34 hours
Online $1635 in 7553 hands https://gyazo.com/85905a6df6399258e2a62ce885540c5b
RB $181

Total profit for the week $4516

Total profit for the challenge $16,546.

Hey man, really enjoying the thread so far, best of luck going forward.

Since you play a lot of 500NL live and seem to be very in tune with them and how they play i am wondering if you could give some thoughts on a hand i played.

$700 eff stacks. I raise QQ $25utg. Kid who is very nitty with raises pre, makes it $80 OTB

Flop TJ4r. Ck/He bets $120/Call
Turn 9o. Ck/Ck
River 2s. Ck/$235/Call

What are your thoughts on ck/jamming river here? I figured he really has no sets pre (maybe JJ but prob flats that most of the time). By the turn when he checks he never has better than AA.

Does this make sense? Or should we use weaker hands to ck/jam? (QJs, Or maybe a AQ/AK we peeled flop with).

You're thinking in the right direction but without more info on the villain I would not consider the check jam with these effective stacks. Most recs dont like laying down AA, especially when there is so much money in the pot because they are 'pot commited'. Making an exploitable folds vs river nits is fine.

Another week has ended. Unfortunately it was a losing one with one day ending down a combined online and live loss of -$6700. I played 3 live sessions two wins one loss, losing a total of $3555. Online was looking pretty bad also after losing $1700 in a couple of hours but I managed to turn it around the next couple of days. I ended up making $1877 online, and another $223 in rake back.

Total for the week is -$1454.

It seems like the better i've been getting online the worst my live game has become.
I've also notice i've been playing my C game for some time now and I tend to autopilot a lot instead of always looking for tells and exploits. It became more evident when I had a 5k losing session. I made a lot of stupid mistakes that could easily have been avoided if I just payed attention. I am having a hard time staying focused again, even in hands that I'm playing. I can feel my gaze getting weak, especially if i'm bluffing. I have also been getting very bored with live poker and end up spending most of my time looking at my phone.

My goal is to start a meditation routine. I'm quitting all drugs except for one cup of coffee in the morning. I need to work on my concentration first with daily 10 min exercises and start removing things that distract my mind during the day.

Total profit for July $4107

I thought July was going to be a +$15,000 month but I got destroyed in the last week of live games. I still am working on my focus and trying to take the game more serious. The past few live sessions,(including August) i've been feeling pretty miserable and have a DGAF attitude. I feel like this is a form of comedown since I quit oxycontin. I know this will pass because normally i'm a very positive and optimistic person. It's just the price I have to pay for taking feel good drugs. Everything has a cost.

$11933 total profit for the first two months.

Small update for August.
Unfortunately the month has started off pretty bad. My mental game has really affected me this first week. Already down about $10,000 combined live and online. I will also have less volume the next week because I'm busy with a few other life things.
As of writing this post, I do feel my focus has strengthened a bit and my attitude has also improved. I know my focus isn't where it needs to be as I still catch myself auto piloting a lot. I will make a stronger effort to be mindful throughout the day.
