Hello,

About 10 years ago I used to play up to NL400 (mostly NL200) and even coach a bit. Then got kind of burned out, found a job, and didn't play during that time.

Now I feel the urge again. I work from home with a stable income but the job doesn't take that much time or effort so I can put quite a lot of time into poker.

During the end of my poker playing my skills decreased - I wasn't putting enough time into studying and kind of just became a break-even player.

Now I'm starting with a bankroll of $100 - playing NL5. The plan is to put a lot of time into improving at the beginning and then take aggressive shots at higher limits.

I'm going through Upswing lab right now - I took the approach to learn from the ground up - don't want to go back to mistakes I was doing in the past.

Before getting into Upswing I played about 20k hands - slightly winner but pretty bad.

There is a lot of spots where I'm not confident about my decision making which makes me want to study and play more.

Let's set a goal:
By the 1st of July, I'm a winning player at NL50 with a proper bankroll - 5k$.

Starting bankroll: $100 (13.02.2021)
Current BR: $135

GL bro. How does micro stakes today compare to your main game a decade ago?

Thanks!

The biggest change seems to be to the poker environment - like Stars taking away the Supernova, a lot of poker rooms not being available from different countries, HUD banned on the site that I'm playing now, etc.

As the games go micros are micros - still a decent amount of fish, a lot of regs playing pretty poorly with some weird lines, pre-flop aggression is maybe higher than I would expect as people look to fold to 4-bets and shoves.

Doesn't look bad at the moment, but I think that if there were bigger changes I will notice them more as I move up the limits.

Also, the big change for me is that I used to play regular 6-max and HU and now I'm playing Rush which is a bit different (but so convenient).

I've seen that you had a blog playing at NL10 - how it's going?

It died on the vine. I went on a 20 buyin ds and cashed out. Nowadays I don't have enough time to keep a worthwhile blog up and running so I focus more on playing and study.

Had some rough days. Bankroll went down under 100$ and then got some back - at 124$ right now.

The biggest observation about the NL5 pool is that people hate to make tough decisions - they would rather shove than re-raise smaller, call instead of 3-betting, don't value bet thin (or even don't value bet very good hands) on the river.

Today I'm probably going to focus on playing and spend more time on studying during the week.

Bankroll 124$

Putting a decent amount of play and study.

Looking at the materials that I'm studying I can see some big changes in my approach to poker now and back when I was last playing. A lot of catching up.

Games are going pretty well, managed to double the roll. Running pretty good, playing well, mostly basic TAG style.

Bankroll 206$
