Hello 2+2 and poker enthusiast. How you all doin?

My name is Pablo and I am 29yo poker/sport and doin nothing fan. Soon, Im going to be 30yo and I figured that my way of living is not what I want and it’s time to do something about it.

My daily bread is wake up early (around 4am) - go to factory - do some s#it - come back home - eat - repeat. This kind of circle repeats for months, maybe years...

Well, I’ve spent a lot of times behind the tables (on-offline). MTTs/cash games - whatever was running. I found poker very exciting and a possible way for a regular income - perhaps from cash game mostly.

Why this thread?

I would like to commit myself for a “cash game road” until I make a decent BR in order to give a notice to my regular job and be able to survive (like roof over my head, some food and stuff like that - you know). I have no kids or other responsibilities so, Id like to dedicate my free time to studying and grinding my ass off. I would like to use this blog to keep up the work - updating results on regular and just keep going.

Feel free to roast me - ask me for updates and so on. It will keep me motivated. Or depressed but anywho...lets see how/if I can get there

From this day Id like to start with 7 days of training- every afternoon after my regular job and after that - daily grind + study/review sessions. I will start with a $2k BR and just bust it or work it up. I prefer the second choice. At least to have some fun (expensive fun)

I will see you in a week

If you participate here in the blog, I will appreciate that for sure

Pablito

Good luck. Factories are depressing.

What games and what stakes are you playing?

Definitely they are but it keeps me motivated to do something about it and not just complain. I used to play MTTs up to $55 BI and Cash game up to NL100. Im thinking about the Zoom on Stars or Fast on Party. That means I can do some volume after work without spending too many hours at it. Tournaments mostly for weekends. Im will be posting graphs after every session. It will motivate me to keep up. Goal will be $20k

Hey man, I'll be following, GL!

May I ask where do you live and what's your income? If you don't have a good sample (500k+hands) with previously beating at least nl25 I highly recommend you to not go and play nl100 online with your roll. It's really reg heavy pool and you might get crushed and discouraged early on

What I would do is deposit 500 preferably on Stars cause it has tough competition and it's better for learning. Invest in some tracking software and also invest in some training. Start playing NL 10 or NL25 if you can afford reloading. Play a lot, study a lot until you know for sure you are beating the limit then you can go up.

Also I would consider focus more on live cash games as an end goal cause it's way easier to make good income playing there than online these days.

Hey timsk,

thanks a lot for the following and for the insides. I live in the Czech Republic and the options for online poker are a little bit limited. Only Stars and Party poker. Party is much better for a rakeback but cant download the HH and Id like to track my results and hands that I played in order to study them. I use PT4 for tracking my hands. I will be posting a graphs after and thoughts after the sessions

Live poker is not an option at the moment so I will stick to online grind. Already first session behind me so I will post the details.

Good luck

Hello there

I had some spare time so I decided to take it slow. Small meditation before the session and just one tabling in order to focuson every spot that I can take and really think about each street. Surely I found a couple of crucial mistakes I have done and also some run outs were against me but in general I felt great. I devided the grind into 2 sessions and in total I played a little bit over 6.5hrs. It´s always nice to do a small break between the sessions and I am still comparing the time difference (morning/afternoon). What kind of players I can find there and what time would be more optimal for me

I´d like to keep going for couple more session just one tabling and soon add another one once I feel comfortable again. Yesterday sessions went pretty well althoug it could be better. But taking those mistakes in mind and realize them is also helpfull to avoid them in a future. Still a nice profit of 6 BI

Posting results below:

Hands played:

Winrate BB/100h:
