booked 200$ on the sidebet which is the cap, I won't take any more bets. let's see if this turns the doomswitch

not going to look at my results again, so I'll know by the end of the month!

165bb deep, sb vs bb 2-4 game, I have JJ in the sb, open to 3bb, bb 3bets to 10.5bb (a decent aggro reg, his 3b% is 16 bb vs sb, with 50% fold to 4b and 3,4% 5bshoverange), what do we do??

4b/call shove?
4b/fold to shove? (but hope he will flat hands that we crush?)
flatcall?

metagame is I saw him 5b small/calling 6bshove for 170bb sb vs co with AKo vs me.

also, what do we do with AQs?

thanks guys looking forward to the answers

calling 3bet is fine. 4bet is def nice. i'm calling a shove.

4b/fold we are still interested in 4betting preflop vs such a wide range.
Tho vs a shove we have too little equity to call vs this shove range i assume

thanks valee, so you prefer 4betting?

the same with AQs kibbeling? do we prefer to have AQs here or JJ?

hi guys,

WPT Amsterdam

I'm back from WPT Amsterdam, it was a bit of a dissapointment. There was nothing running higher than 5-10, except for 1 game which was a private game 50-100 where I tried to get in, but no success unfortunately it looked very fishy but they kept it 6handed, not spot for me. I was hoping for some 10-20 or 25-50 after this, but the game below that was 5-10. I played some lowstakes 5-5 live and it was fun, I met some guys I only knew from online before, like DCnesquick. I won 1700 euro's this WPT in 7,5 hours of poker. But lost 800 euro's to % in main event and other tournaments. But that's fine.

Online poker

trying to study a bit more this month, having already 3 sessions in with poker friends + I watched some interesting vids.

I went back to the internet grind yesterday, having only played 5k hands so far before WPT. I'm trying to get some volume going on the regular/zoom tables. Zoom500 is barely having good pools lately so it's mainly regular and some zoom200, since I'm only playing 4-6 tables regular I'm hoping to get 25-30k hands this month.

It started okay but not great, running a ton under EV again losing a lot of flips in a row on run it one time sites at least I played okay and didn't tilt. I'm going to check the results after the weekend I think. Not sure if i'm up or down at all

Graph

my graph of the 1/2 of the month, as said I'm going to play more volume the second half of the month. Feel like I've been playing my A-game the most so far, except for today where I made a rivercall vs a solid regular who underbluffs river and doesn't 4bbluff enough either, I put the hand in a solver with very tight 4brange for villain (2.8%) and the outcome was I had to call 100% of time with this combo which I already expected, but this is when villain is bluffing enough and this isn't the case I think, after this call I tilted for the first time this month and had to snapquit

weird that you would tilt over this hand, surely even if villain was bluffing at proper frequency you have to expect him to show up with AA sometimes

That's the thing, when people do bluff enough and have like AJo sometimes for example I'm happily calling this and I wouldn't care to pay them off if they have it. But this guy has QQ-AA 90% of time and I know that, but still pressed call and that tilts me

Small Update

Not happy that Fulltilt is gone, now I see the better 2-4rush regs playing 2-5z, and I liked the small playerpools @fulltilt playing mostly 3 or 4handed poker.

barely played any zoom this month, so volume is lacking a bit, mostly playing 4 to 6 tables of regular 2-4 to 5-10, I'm able to play 9 tables I think, but not on this setup.. Need to get a better monitor

played some headsup and doing good, got some fish HU and played some regs too at 2-4 and 5-10, I like to play HU it's so much more fun than 6handed poker.

Plans after euro summer

As some of you may know, the appartment in A'dam didn't happen unfortunately. There is 2 possibilities now:

1. to go for another "bootcamp" adventure with 2 or 3 midstakes grinders in an appartment somewhere in the world from September. Could be Europe, could be Asia, could be South America or Canada. A good timezone is pretty important, but in Europe I'm close to my gf and I could fly home once in every few weeks. It's okay to have a rhytm to get up late and grind till deep in the night.

2. to live somewhere in the Netherlands, possibly alone or with a friend.

Pbb going to live together with my gf from the beginning of next year, so before that I have to decide what to do so many options..

Hands

A couple funny hands from today, played a superfish which sat in the SB first hand, had really solid reads on him. but unfortunately he made a backdoor draw and called my shove with Thigh I lost like 4 stacks to him, but won back a big part of it later. Really sick table that was I saw him shove Q8high for 1000$ on the river for example so the second hand is a huge cooler obv. would've called him down with A4 pbb

A5 might be close, but I wasn't really thinking about it because this guy was so capable of doing terrible stuff he pwned me there..

Results

Not sure if I will play more this month, because I'm going to Amsterdam for some partying tomorrow, so I just checked results. I'm happy with how I played this month, At some point I was down 13k$ mostly on 400-1k regular tables and I managed to stay sharp and focus on playing well, of course I whined a little bit on skype to some people about how bad I ran, especially in the big pots with 80/90% but hey, what can you do .

Also the last 2 weeks I've been playing a lot of volume, I know for some people it's peanuts to play 3k/4k hands every single day, but I find it very intense, also because i'm mostly 4-6tabling. I've been playing afternoon + night sessions 8-10 hours per day, some HU, some regular, and in the end I played mainly zoom200 and some zoom500. Already on 35k hands for the month which is more than I expected, because I played WPT Amsterdam the first week of the month.

EVbb/100 8.2 this month which is great, also I did some off the table work. More than I normally do . This weekend I'm going to decide if I'm going to travel after EPT Barcelona, possibly with some guys from 2p2, Shipit2kg was interested, and some Swedish/US pokerfriends of mine too. It's also still a possibility to stay in the Netherlands for some time more and get my own appartment here. Will do another update the end of the month! Oh and I made Supernova again today, for what it's worth 4th year in a row now

End of the month update

I finished winning 8.1evbb/100, I'm happy with how I played this month, playing a lot of hours, a lot of 2-4 up to even some 10-20, studying enough, tilting almost never even after the rough stretch in the beginning, and also played some live, some HU and invested in some people's tournaments. I didn't drink much this month since 4 of my best friends were on a vacation to Costa Rica, so I stayed home/with my gf more weekends. 1 thing I did wrong was checking results too much, I didn't check until the 15th, but after the 15th I checked every day. As a punishment I can't check the next month at all!

Monthly report

Exploiting: (bluffs, thin value, herocalls/folds against the right opponents)
7/10, Nothing special here, I kept making good herocalls and probably a lot of good folds against bad regulars. I feel like I could've worked on my sizing on some spots.
Mental game (tilting, confidence, motivation, volume)
7/10, My mental game was good this month, I tilted a couple times but always took a break or quit when I did. I wasn't panicking when I was down 13k but kept my calm and eventually grinded out all the losses without running very well.
Studying (did I stu
dy enough hours and active While studying)
6/10, I watched some vids and did sessions with poker friends regularly, could do more hours here but I'm happy with this as an average.
Game theory ingame: (the theory that I studied, used ingame)
8/10, I think I really put the information in my game to the maximum this month, actively working on it instead of passively watching a vid with a hangover

A funny suicide bluff from yesterday

Update:

Playing a lot of live poker since a few weeks practicing for EPT Barcelona. Not very motivated to play much volume online since I'm running and playing bad so far this month and I gave up on my late night schedule, I'm thinking about doing a 10k hands in 1 day challenge the end of the month playing mainly 200z. I think motivation to play 50+k hands a month will come back when I'm living with other grinders again, my mental game was bad this month. I'm thinking about going abroad in September after Barcelona.

Speaking of other grinders, 2 friends from Budapest came to visit Amsterdam and we did the Heineken experience together, it was fun to see them after such a long time!

I checked my results yesterday for the first time this month and it was pretty ugly.

losing 12.4evbb/100 this month, winning only 47% of sd.
also lost about 1500$ in tournaments.
good thing I won 400bb with live poker and 600bb (without hud) on my laptop so it's not as bad as it looks. But still pretty bad obv

going to play some more live poker this week, and have a wedding on friday from Michael the first of my friends to do so! Going to be a big party. We already went to Gent in Belgium for a crazy bachelor party

UPDATE!

Poker
Had my worst month lifetime, losing on every stake/site except for 5-10 where I won a tiny bit, losing 11.48 evbb/100 over the month, running under ev too like every single month this year. I tilted/had motivation issues almost every day that's why my volume sucked too. I struggled beating 200nl zoom and I bubbled some big tournaments, live I had a nice upswing first but in my last session I lost 400bb in about 90 minutes and I still suspect the nitreg on my left saw my cards because he made an insane call vs me where I overjam bluffed 180bb in a 150bb pot on the river with bottom pair after x/raising turn and he called me with middle pair. I should cover my cards better, or he just owned me . So I'm not happy, my mental game was the worst too. I'm happy it's been the only losing month of this year.

Plans for the upcoming months

I'm looking forward changing some things, because obviously something has to change. I'm planning on playing @ my girlfriends place in Amsterdam and playing live in Amsterdam Casino a few evenings per week, preparing for EPT Barcelona. After this I will probably move to another country with other pokerplayers and study/grind hard again. But this will be more clear in the following weeks. I'm still positive about my future in poker and I believe this month was an incident

Montly report
I don't think I have to do my monthly report, because Mental/Exploiting/Game theory and Studying all was less than 4/10 this month. Some people like to study/grind more when they're in a downswing, unfortunately I'm quite the opposite

first half year graph

I did better than the first 6 months of last year, but I ran a bit worse. I'm winning 4.1evbb/100 while playing higher avg stakes than last year, this is okay, but I think 5 should be possible. Volume isn't very good I hoped I would have been on 250k hands by now. But I still think 450k hands by the end of the year is very possible even with EPT Barcelona and some other upcoming live events!

WISH ME LUCK IN JULY!

Update!

Poker
Haven't been playing much due to a lot of fun stuff this month, celebrated my 28th birthday. My gf passed her university exams so she has her bachelor diploma and is going for her master pbb next year or the year after that, so I spend a lot of time with her, we went to Antwerpen together and she's coming with me to Barcelona for a while. I did play some hands and started with a massive heater of 20evbb/100. very welcome after last months downswing.

Plans
My plan is to focus some more on live poker the end of this month and the beginning of August by practicing in Holland Casino, so I'm prepared for EPT Barcelona after that.

I was going to work all weekend, but a friend of mine is DJ'ing at a weekender festival called "Wildeburg" and asked me to come with him for free, I couldn't say no to that .
