About me:
Spoiler:

-18y old student
-living in Germany
-lots of time for poker thanks to student lifestyle
-currently doing Starting Strength
-aiming to crush my GPA next 3 years so I can get my masters in a good school the US

After I stopped playing NL a while ago I have recently decided to learn the game all the cool kids are playing and my efforts so far have been remarkably unsuccessful. I will use this thread as motivation and to keep track of my goals.
I have withdrawn all my money but $5000, so this will be my starting bankroll.
I don't want to redeposit so I will use conservative BR management, especially since I plan to get coaching which will also eat into the bankroll.

GOALS:

PROCESS:
I will start with theory and not play for the next 5 days. I realize that practice and putting in volume is important but I first want to have a solid understanding of the game.
To gain this understanding I will follow the following plan:

1. I have a list of PLO material (mostly videos and articles), I will work through this material and write down the core message of every resource.
2. I will sort these core messages and try to distill them into concepts or find contradictions
3. Build a framework for a thought process that I can use while playing

This will take me 6 days.
Afterwards I will start playing PL50 6max. I will not focus on volume but instead try to apply and refine my thought process.

I am also giving out a freeroll for $100 for the first guy that replies.
You win if I don't finish the material or play before Sunday.

Threadsavers:
Spoiler:

No tits for you, instead you get a baseball legend

thanks!

Working on the theory really improves my understanding of the game and I was already able to identify some leaks, some are PLO specific but some are more "meta" as well.
I guess I have been autopiloting way too much in PLO which is massivley -EV especially since it's a new game for me. I am currently wondering if I should play reg tables or zoom. Zoom is obv great for volume but reg tables might be better for learning since less hands/hour mean more time spend per hand. After reading this it seems like reg tables or 1-2 tabling zoom is the way to go.
