The hiking trip sounds somewhat terrifying. I never find myself wading through ice-cold glacier waters, but when I do I wish I'd unregged pre. I can't imagine what sort of emotions you were going through while you waited for the rescue helicopter. You'll have some stories to tell the grandchildren though!

You should update your pg&c too, or haven't you been playing much poker lately?

August still going real good on Unibet
Will post a bigger update at the end of the month I think.

Last few weeks I've been looking to buy a decent pokerset.
I found out the set that you can buy at the Pokerstars shop is pretty nice.
It's prized at 14500 StarsCoin.

PM me if any of you want to stake me there.
How many hands would it take to get to 14.5k coins?
On 10NL or 16NL? Profit chop 50/50.
I've been staked multiple times before a couple years ago.
Have never dissapointed any of my stakers

So August was both effortwise and resultswise my best month of the year.
I think I played like 25 out of 31 days and estimate I played around 50 hours.
At times the games where very soft and I'm also very confident vs any reg.
The only reggish player I had to adapt versus was some guy called "hehehehe".
He was insanely aggro which can be annoying.
I did stack him for a big pot with AA when he 5bet jammed AJo tho
Total profit for the month was €835

A few hands

I have 33:

Took a bit of a funky line here multiway as I flop a set.
Most of the times we should probably check/raise here.
But I think this shows immense strenth in a 4 way pot.
If we donk flop we often have Ax or flushdraws etc.
On turn I obviously know my hand is good and I was thinking villain had something like AK, AJ, AT.
But for a good player these are all easy folds. AQ probably jams turn.
River ship ship.

I have AA:

Villain's hand is pretty face up Kx and there are a bunch of missed draws.
Overshoving river is pretty damn sexy

I have AQ:

Now this guy was a total fish.
90% of the time I would just make a big raise like 4.5 or maybe even 5bb.
But the problem with AQ here is that we are gonna get floated a ton if we miss.
And also I we hit the ace we are gonna get a bunch of credit I believe.
Even from a fish. So this is not an easy hand to play oop.
Now I though about this for a while and I was pretty sure shoving had the most EV in this spot.
He is calling all worse Ax, a bunch of Kx, all low pocket pairs, etc.
And apparently also snaps with 94o

Just like last year I will try and hit that €5K mark.
I'm currently at €3.540 in profit for the year.
So I'm a bit ahead of schedule you could say.
I will keep on grinding for a few weeks, but then I think I will need a longer break.
Like 10 days off or something

Have a good weekend all!

Got backed by Powernap on PS.
Should have deposited my own money, but I want to play relaxed and variancefree as Unibet is obv still my main focus

But it seems like Stars wants my love back

I was playing zoom, but forget about the payday
Hit the other side of variance

I should make some small adjustments but alot of it was runbad...
Number 1 adjustment: don't try to bluff a brazilian.
But I think it will turn around, just zoom has crazy swings...

Still shipping the monies on Unibet tho.
Am currently deep in the 2K sunday evening

Not too bad
Was pretty carddead near the end.
Ultimately called a shove from another shortie with T9s for 4.5BBs or so.
He had A4o and no hit unfortunately.

Hey beef, welcome
I thought Monza was one of the more fun races this year.
Although qualifying was a complete joke.
I got very annoyed by the constant 15 min delays.
They've should have let them out on track way earlier.
Grosjean just ****ed up imo.
He got caugt a bit by aquaplanning, but then overcorrects it way too much.
Conditions were tough but definetly doable.

I'm supporting the younger generation.
Max Verstappen has been my favourite driver ever since Villeneuve left the scene like a decade ago.
Also liking Ocon more and more.
Let's hope Singapore will be a nice race too, great setting for sure

Already up €214 so far this month on Unibet
Today's session started off pretty rough.
These days rough for me is being down 2 buy ins

Had a hand where I made a slightly thin rivershove with bottom set.
Villain is a reg and opens button. I call 22 from sb.
Flop T2x with 2 hearts. I make a decent size check/raise.
Offsuit A on the turn which I think hits his range pretty good.
I bet something like 2/3 pot. Calls rather quickly.
River is a low heart and I'm left with about a pot size bet.
I jam going for max value against Ax and some 2p combo's.
I felt like his strong flushdraws would often 3bet flop and most flushdraws will fold turn anyway.
Offcourse he turns of 79hh...
Well played. Another reg listed as regfish

**Had 2 interesting hands with QQ**

1. Versus a reg who seems rather decent.
I haven't seen him get too much out of line.
We are about 150bb deep.
I think this deep we should mostly flat and not 4bet.
Somehow felt like he was strong preflop already.

Flop is an obvious check back and there's also no merit in raising turn.
Thought for a couple seconds on the river and felt like his line was often AA.
The flopcheck is just so typical
AK is probably not calling a riverraise anyway.
Obviously most players on this stake would just go yolo, "I have a set!" and ship it.
I lost the pot but he must have been feeling like he got owned

2. No real reads on this guy, but felt he was a bit of a potato

Not the best of flops, and if my cbet would get raised I'm in a ****ty spot.
Also thought we should protect our check/calling range.
People just call 3bets so insanely wide on Unibet, it's a joke really.
So just let him bet all hix T, draws and total trash.
On the turn I just have to go with it. Nice result

Yeah qualifying was annoying. The great drivers seem to do fine in the wet. Grojean just made a mistake.

Fell asleep 10 laps into the race and woke up 2 laps before the end. Races at midnight with work at 6am is never fun haha.

Yeah rooting for Max, Stroll, Ocon even Vandoorne (although he's not that young)

It's hard being a McLaren/Alonso fan atm haha. Odds on them going with Renault engines?

Yeah looking forward to Singapore! Always a great track.

Gl on the tables!

Played lots of poker in the last few days and managed to book a decent profit.
On Saturday I sat at the 25NL tables for the first time in a few months.
Offcourse literally 5 minutes in I get stacked in a setup.
UTG opens, UTG+1 3bets and I flat JJ in the SB.
Flop topset, but he makes a wheel on the turn with something like A4 or A5. gg!
But I kept focused and played really well on Saturday.
Felt really confident in my game.
Booked a nice €80 profit on 25NL in around 2K hands.
Later that night I played some more 10NL and as usual have been crushing there Won just under 5BI.

Now Sunday started off real bad.
Was playing 25NL again, but the games where def tougher.
And to be honest I made some spewy plays here and there.
I def punted off 2 stacks.
You guys can berate me for the next hand
I open T7ss in the CO and aggro BB 3bets.
I make a loosy goosy call and flop comes like Q4x.
I raise his cbet, he flats.
Turn is another Q and I just rip it.
He tanks for a bit and shows AA.
Got my composure back but ended up losing close to 5 buy ins.

After that I grinded some 10PLO.
Ran pretty hot there and there where some pretty bad players around.
Won 5 BI in like an hour of playing.
Later that night I regged for the €4 €1K guaranteed MTT.
With some rungood I managed to take 5th for €70.
After that I was only €20 ish down for the day.
To get into the green I grinded some more 10NL and won 4 or 5 stacks.

Todays session was pretty rough, but managed to book a small profit...

A few hands from the last couple of days:

This hand is a good example of the constant floating on Unibet...
I cbet flop, check/raise turn and he just rips it
I think a good response to "overfloating" is check/raising or check/calling strong hands.
And barrel more with medium strength hands or hands that have decent equity...

Today I got rekt by a straight flush but some days ago I made one myself

I flatted flop and turn and obviously shipped river.
I think raising turn would be a huge mistake.
Villain payed off with AK...

September is promising to be another great month on the virtual felt!
I have played every single day so far and am already up just over €500
For the next few days I think I'll only be playing 10NL.
Gonna have to focus a bit more on programming too and don't want to be stressed out over poker swings

Cheers guys!

Long time no update so here we go

September started off pretty great but the end of the month was very dissapointing.
The 25NL curse is still very real for me.
I just can't win flips there and I seem to be on the wrong side of coolercity too much.

Some runbad hands
Note these are just from one particuliar session...

In this last hand the villain was a huge fish on tilt.
He 3bets pre, pots flop and turn and I get it in...
It's very tilting when the idiots run that golden.

One nice winning hand tho

The villain was also a fish. I think I 3 or 4betted pre.
Bet flop and turn and then went for the river c/r which is actually a bit thin.

Anyway, overall I am down 400 ish on 25NL which is a ****ing joke.
Especially considering I'm winning at +10bb/100 at 10NL.
I've also been bricking hard at the couple MTT's I've played.
More then ever they are packed with donks, so that has been pretty frustrating at times for sure...
/whine

The last few days the NL games have been very regheavy and boring at times.
As a result I've been playing some more 10PLO and a tiny bit 25PLO.
There is always at least one guy at the table that has no clue which is nice
Resultswise October is going pretty slow. I'm up a bit over €150.

I'm at 86% of the annual €5K goal which isn't too shabby.
I'll be glad when I get there, so I can take some time off and play some racing games again

October felt like a bit of a struggle, but in the end turned out ok.
Don't have exact numbers yet but played over 50K hands so I really did put in a lot of effort
Ended up winning €501 for the month.
The second half of the month I played mostly PLO.
Think my play was split 80/20 between 10PLO and 25PLO.

Ran pretty good at 25PLO which is nice

Equitywise it doesn't get much better than this in Omaha!

480 BB pot If I remember correctly I coldcalled the 3bet preflop.

Biggest pot of the year for me I think.
Villain 5bet shoves pre when I have the American Airlines

Played 10PLO for a couple hours today, but ran pretty salty.
Ended up losing half a buy in or so.
But I did get €8 for surpassing 50K challenge points.
Also played the €10 Titan MTT with a ticket I bought from my bonuspoints.
Ended up 9th for €35.
Right now my annual profit on Unibet is at €4.691.
Getting really close

Have been grinding pretty relentless the last few weeks.
Playing a bit more NL again, but still putting in some PLO sessions aswell.
The cashgames have been going reasonable but not running too great.
At times the games are definitely very splashy tho

One of the most interesting hands I played lately.
UTG opens and I 3bet AA.
I check/call flop and turn pretty comfortably.
On the river he bets like 55% pot, leaving me €2.50 behind.
Was tanking for a while but ended up calling.
Was thinking he would always shove Jx and we also block AJ btw.
JJ and 88 I would expect to check back flop a lot, in order to make us "hit something".

This hand is a good example of the average Unibet playing style.
People are overbluffing way too much and many regs are overaggro.
I think this is pretty easy to exploit in a lot of ways, taking passive lines with strong made hands being one of them

On the side I also played a couple MTT's.
Saturday I played a €10 tournament called the Titan:

Today I played the same tournament again:

Started off great by turning a set in a 3 way pot in the first hand.
River completed the backdoor flush for villain and gave me a boat.
Couple hands later I make a big squeeze with JJ and get 2 callers.
Flop comes something like 468r and my cbet gets one caller.
Turn is a blank and I check, going for potcontrol.
He pots it which I found pretty suspicious.
I tank for a while and just rip it. He shows AQo and I hold
From there on I kinda sailed to the final table.
Made some suckouts winning QJs vs A6o and 82o vs K9s.
The 82o was a kinda yolo shove for 11bb's in the sb vs bb
People where overfolding a bunch and Dbergie was able to take a massive chiplead. So second was basicly all I could hope for.
Obviously very happy with these cashes
I feel like I was overdue some MTT hotrunning.

Long story short. Today I crushed my yearly goal!
The Unibet profit for 2017 is now at a whopping €5172.

So at this point, I will take a bit more time off from poker.
Will spent more time running, programming and playing some PS4 aswell.
I will however continue grinding, but just take it a bit easier.

Thanks for reading

Congratulations on reaching your goal buddy, and quite a nice pay day as well how are you tracking winnings on Unibet tho? Manually filling in an Excel sheet or something?

I love Unibet, and the only times I really miss my HUD is for analyzing my play.

Thanks Have we played vs eachother perhaps?
I write down my balance in a simple txt at the beginning and end of the month.
Once a month I also request a cashgame results file on the Unibet community.
This allows me to keep track of my number of hands played and my winrates etc...

Well, it's for sure the games are way better than on Stars.
At 10NL for example I'm winning at almost 11bb/100 this year.
But I do think the games have gotten more aggro, especially at 25NL.
A lot of the regs try to outplay you too hard.
I wouldn't call the games soft, rather spewy.
Also, the quality of the games depends quite a lot on the time of day.
Sometimes it's packed with regs, sometimes there a bunch of crazy guys throwing money around...

Nice example of a try-to-hard-reg:

I 3bet pre. Cbet flop something like 60% pot.
I check back turn and he bombs river...

I think my biggest strength at the moment is putting in volume, while still playing solid.
Yes, I'd probably pick up more info if I'd cut to 4 tables.
But I'm sure my hourly would go down...
Have logged over 435K hands this year.

I have no idea how much other good regs are winning, but I'm pretty sure I'm amongst the top net winners on the Unibet micro's...
Give it a try again and good luck

Meanwhile I'm still doing pretty good this month
Profit for November is now just over €800.

Had a brutal PLO session last Thursday, playing mainly 25PLO.
Remember losing 300bb pot with topset vs nutfd for example.
Was down over €200. Switched to some 25NL and managed to grind some back there.
One particularly funny hand:

Flop was 4-way and I lead half pot. Sorin32 is the only caller.
Check/call turn and then he does this on the river.
I tank a bit, because if this is value it is mostly quads...
Offcourse we can never fold here...
He shows:
Spoiler:
J 3

On Friday I crushed the 10NL tables and won 8BI.
On Saturday I won €60 at PLO and also managed to book my first MTT win of the year.
It was a deepstack tourney, with just a €5 buy in.

Obviously not a big cash but I'll take it.
I really enjoyed it tho. 3 handed lasted 45 min and the heads up took over an hour.
I made some funky bluffs, and it was just a pretty furious battle with these guys.

Here I cbet flop, check back turn and bet river. #9hiLikeABoss

Probably a pretty standard bluff, since he can have so many pairs like 44-88, even 2x and 3x.
He might also have folded a king.
Anyway, felt good to win this one
Won some more on the cashgame streets the last few days, but nothing special.

The grind is starting to wear me out tho.
I have surpassed my yearly goal by a mile now, but still don't feel fulfilled or really proud.
I also feel like not playing is like leaving money on the floor.
My mental game is still my greatest weakness I think.
I don't cope so well with losing sessions and I'm probably way to risk averse.
I hope I can improve on this.
Also realise that it's probably way better longterm to focus more on improving and moving up in stakes, instead of grinding massive volume.
Problem is at the moment, I kinda need the poker profit and I'm not taking risks.
But maybe next year I will take the dive into bigger games and getting my game to the next level

Cheers
