Hello 2+2!

First of all a bit of presentation

My name is Francesco, I am a 26 yo professional poker player and coach from Italy, playing poker since 2010 but professionally from 2013.

I like challenges (did some in the past), it is a long time that I wanted to do one like this and since "played poker" is not anymore my main income, I would say that finally the time has come!

My goal is to start with a very tiny bankroll (100€) and move up to NL100 starting from NL2. I will use a quite aggressive BR strategy, this is my idea:

100€ start @NL2
150€ -> LVL UP NL5

125€ -> LVL DOWN NL2
300€ -> LVL UP NL10
-------------------------------------
250€ -> LVL DOWN NL5
750€ -> LVL UP NL25

1.250€ -> LVL DOWN NL25
3.000€ -> LVL UP NL100 - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

I've always been a super-nit in BR management during my poker career, so feel free to suggest any change, I'm still working on it and adjustments are probably needed.

I will post daily updates here with results, stats, graphs, impression and basically everything I consider interesting!

I will play on Pokerstars.it and my plan is to start at zoom, but I may change to normal if I think it will be better for any reason.
I will occasionally play at NL50-NL100 in another poker room, but just to keep myself "warm" at a higher stake since I will keep my coaching activity going on. This will not affect this challenge at all.

Why did I choose to do this?
As I said I like this kind of things, plus I'm working on a poker course relative to the micros with written and video material, so this could be very inspiring for me. Will give updates about that too in this thread!

I really don't know how much time I will be able to dedicate at this challenge every day, so I will not set a deadline.

The challenge will officially start the 1st October, but it is quite possible that I will already have few hands since I'm trying softwares and HUDs!

At the end I played more than I planned, fact is that I really enjoyed it so I used part of my free time

Which, considering what I did yesterday, brings my total profit to 47€, just 3€ from the 1st lvl up!



It would be very cool if tomorrow I would be able to move up at NL5 even before the "official" start of the challenge

About the game, I never had troubles and got a lot of fun by now Never entered in a real downswing, so I'm happy with the run

I actually learned something by playing in this field. I found myself thin value betting something like 2nd, 3rd pair or even A-high a ton, which is quite atypical in my standard games but something that I should definitely start doing more vs recreational players. I would say this will bring me more value in the long run than just these 47€, so super happy even for that!

50€ profit officially reached, so time to move up at NL5!

Time for some considerations about NL2

I played less than 6k hands, with a profit of 50€ which means around 43bb/100! Not bad given the killer rake at these stakes!
I know, the sample is very small and variance is still huge, but I would say it's completely possible to have a huge win rate here. Do not forget that I had 0 info on everybody and never played this stake (I started from NL10 few years ago), plus I admit I made some silly mistakes.
I would say the secret to beat this stake is value bet, value bet, value bet. And fold to strong aggression!

I will show it next time a student tells me it's impossible to win with the red line vs bad players Mine wasn't growing mainly cause of bluffs (the big ones were just few), but cause of very wide thin value bets.

I think I'll start later today with NL5, but as planned I have a very tiny stop loss. So, who knows, maybe I'll go back to NL2 soon Let's hope not and to start with a good run

First day at NL5 gone!

I made something like 7€ profit but I have the feeling I ran pretty bad! Not just from the EV side but finding a ton of top ranges overall.
To be honest I made a lot of mistakes and misclicks too, I even lost 1 stack when I had a mid pair and thought I had a set But really made some bad calls on the river.

I'm surprised you can get away with so much aggression at those stakes, you're killing it man.

Played a few and swinged a lot today!



Had a terrible session this evening in which nothing seemed to work (I was having a reverse ghosting too ), but took a break of 15 mins after which I ran pretty well and smashed it.

Still having troubles with some adjustment and making some calls that I shouldn't! Aaaah, tough life for a calling station like me!

The day didn't start in the best of the ways but finished pretty good! Still making some very silly mistakes. Didn't have a losing day by now, so I'm pretty satisfied with the run!

I'm really enjoying the game in this challenge, results apart I'm having a lot of fun at the tables!
